Just the whole process , adding the shadows and highlighting, exaggerating the effect of the lighting and adding more color , it so beautiful Cinnamon brought me back to when i did my first ever canvas painting watching one of your videos and it made me want to go back to the canvas and enjoy the process of painting again after a while. And this time the urge came back so much more now that I'm 7 years older and know so much more and have so much more confidence in my ability thanks to your teaching and advices.

Being a Monarch maniac...I have to give you Kudo's on this Monarch. I appreciate you taking the time to do it justice. I have been priviledged to Harvest almost 100 Monarchs due to their near extinction and still am in awe with their stained glass looking wings.

Morning has broken. How beautiful! As it's a 2 1/2 hour video, meaning, for me, it's about a day long (or two) project, I'll probably watch and try my hand at it in a week or so when I've not so many projects in the making. lol. Wonderful! I sketched the dandelion by hand and used a 5x7 canvas board... had to use a Posca pen for Mr. Butterfly's patterns. For these tougher 3 hoot paintings I like doing a small version to do 'the learning' before I break out the full size canvas. Plus the small version makes a great gift. One day I hope to be like Picasso and pay my bar tab with napkin sketches ;)

@@TheArtSherpa I finally finished painting the full sized one tonight. In preschool we raised Monarch butterflies from eggs and one of my earliest clear memories is the day we released them back into the wild. Joy, circle of life, but also very bittersweet because the caterpillars were our pets that we watched every day for a long time.
