Initially when I started watching this I was like omg but her hair is so beautiful why is she cutting it?! But as you went on to cut it shorter and shorter I was like wow it's even more beautiful!!! I did a big chop back in June and I felt so relieved when all the damaged hair fell to the floor. I had really bad heat damage from using a straightener all the time. I would straighten my hair every weekend mostly because kids at my school made fun of my hair while growing up so I made my mom straighten my hair after that. I finally got tired of the hate and decided not to straighten my hair anymore so for a year I walked around with damaged hair thinking it was okay until I watched other people do a big chop so last June I said F it and cut it off and that was the best thing I ever did. I’m so happy you decided to do this trust me you’ll be so much happier and your hair will thank you later.

Big chopping was something I lacked the courage to do back when I was transitioning because I was afraid of what I would look like, afraid of not liking my natural beauty and afraid of what others would think when my hair was nowhere near as long as yours and here you are going straight for it! Jailyn Hill I just wanted to let you know that I cut my hair last night (not as drastically as you did of course, just a few inches) I was trying to hold on to length and the damage spread up my hair. I won't lie, as I was cutting I felt so free, just like you said I would! I can't thank you enough ❤️
I had so much heat damage all over my head but it was the worst in the front, so I went in with the scissors just to cut off some of my hair in the front, and then I noticed some damaged pieces on one side, and then I realized that each side needed to be even and one thing led to another and well, I basically big chopped unexpectingly

Like you said, this is my only video so you don't know me well enough to make a comparison of my hair before and after I started putting heat on it. In that same reply I said I could've just taken some inches off but I wanted to take it further. I also said that it was taking too much effort to make it look healthy which is what you see in the video. I'm sorry the title didn't conform to your liking, but you can clearly see in the thumbnail that I have cut my hair off. A big chop is getting rid of significant amounts of damaged hair and that's what I did. My hair looks and performs 10x better than it was before and I'm not the only one that sees that. I appreciate your feedback though

you're supposed to cut it above the ponytail holder thingy, so when you cut it, it's all held together with the holder, and not a bunch of loose hairs. just a tip for next time. i cut my own hair all the time. yours turned out great! you are so pretty and it's really flattering!
