    Great playing for just a year invested my friend! I played classical seriously in my 20"s and played that Danza Venezolano perfectly along with many other classical guitar standards, stopped playing for many years and want to get back into it and am planning on getting this c12 cedar top. It sounds great and wanted to let you know your video was very helpful in getting a little listen of that great instrument. Keep practicing and you will become a really competent player for sure....and don't forget to have fun even when those pieces get complicated and your hand starts getting sore 😂😉🤪 been there, done that!

      I relate to you pretty much, studying classical seriously at early 20’s and Now at 35 after many years without practice coming back again invested myself in a Francisco Navarro $2000 and relied reason why didn’t play anymore was the absence of a good instrument that could be playable , is important
      Now I’m selective with what I play , study something here and there no pressure is a hobby and the time I have to get the instruments on my hands is limited but enjoy it for sure

      Thanks for the comment! Did you get the C9 Parlor or Crossover? I haven't tried those out yet. You may want to adjust your truss rod some and it can get the action lower a bit. If you don't feel comfortable doing that then I'd take it to an experienced luthier.

    The truss rod is not for adjusting action . It’s only for neck relief if you tighten it too much your tone and sustain will suffer . After achieving proper neck relief you adjust the action by sanding the saddle. Again if you lower it to much your tone will suffer. Your guitar sounds great . Nice playing too.

    So, have you lowered the action since you got the guitar?
    I got a Cordoba C9 parlor two months ago (888€), and I'm very happy with it. All solid wood, cedar top and mahogany body, it has great sound! 630mm scale length, 50mm nut, for me easier to play than a big guitar... But yes it needed adjustment, and I went to see a luthier. He first adjusted the trussrod (the neck was a little bit too straight he said), made a new headnut cause the original one was not very well cut, and lowered the bottom one to set the action to 3mm low E 12th fret. Now it's really a pleasure to play, and to play everything. I see it as a kind of hybrid between classical and flamenco guitar!

    • @joshfeatherstone8546
      @joshfeatherstone8546  Před rokem +1

      I ended up sending it back and going with a Córdoba C10 Cedar! I wish I would have kept the C12 though! It sounded louder and richer! The C10 is fine though. I really like those parlor C9’s. Always wanted to play one. Congrats on the guitar!

    • @jeffk9658
      @jeffk9658 Před rokem

      @@joshfeatherstone8546 I'm curious, what was the deciding factor for trading for the C10? Was it the higher action? I'm really thinking about getting the C12 but I've read other reviews with the same complaint. Fortunately I have a luthier close to me (OKC) that will do a full setup for around $65. If I didn't have that making adjustments would be very intimidating. You sounded great 3 years ago, have your skills improved to the point that you are performing now?

    I researched comparisons between the C10 & C12 for some time before deciding the C10 was the better investment for my needs. Here in Australia they're $1000 difference in price and besides the C12 being a louder guitar (not necessary for my home-only playing), the humi-case is not really required for the Australian climate and the raised fingerboard isn't all that much raised, says a few reviews... besides most beginner/intermediate songs not really utilizing frets beyond 12. I'm very happy with my C10 and after selling my steel-string Maton em225c the C10 only cost me AU$1350. Down the track I'll see justification to treat myself to a guitar in the 5k region.
