That still happened in the US in the 90’s and early 2000 to me. My parents were the same; they say to not say bad words to the cripple, the disabled, and the uglies or you’ll be cursed. Welp! That got me to get asked hand in marriage twice! Cried my eyeballs out and refused. Luckily they were afraid of me being a minor so they didn’t force me. To the owner of this story, back in those days the parents were never supported their daughters at all.
