- I gave myself exactly 15 minutes for this photography walk. Join me as I walk the streets of Lucerne again in search of compelling images.

This is excellent. Good to have your photographic thought process as you make your way along the walk. Very helpful and inspiring. Thanks Tomasz!!!
Thank you so much, Robert 🙏🙏
Great idea to combine the channels into a single one, Tomasz. I encourage you to continue with your photo walks - they remind me to get out and create interesting and magical images of what many see as mundane scenes around us.
Thanks so much 🙏
Thx Tomasz, always a pleasure to walk with you 😉 and see the outcome!
Thank you, Bep 🙏🙏
Fun and educational. And, the right length. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a fabulous idea and thanks for your commentary, it inspires my creativity. Thank you!
So glad!
Thanx Thomaz to inspire us. Very helpful!
Thank you, Jorge. Happy to hear that 🙏
You make it look so easy. I’m still training my photographic eye. Watching you here really helps me a lot.
So happy to hear it, Omar. Just go out there and enjoy the process.
This video reminded me of my trip to Switzerland 😊.. such beautiful country.
Thank you for another great video, Tomasz! I find this kind of photo walk so inspiring! Keep up the good work 🙌😊
I love it and it’s inspiring for my walks in my neighborhood. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you, happy to hear you enjoyed it!
That's a great stuff! Now I need to try this myself.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you, Evgeniy!
Very calming. Very relaxing. Picked up some really good tips! Thanks!
🙏🙏🙏
Your cameraman did an excellent job. This was a very relaxed, intimate video. My approach to photo walks is very much the same. I can find subjects almost anywhere, regardless of how much time I have. I felt your joy getting out with a camera.
Thank you, Sonja 🙏🙏
This was enjoyable to watch. Great idea. Nice shots Tomasz.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Photo walks are interesting, informative and fun to go along with you. Like the sharing of prospective photo subjects and wide variety of images where you highlight photography aspects such as rule of thirds, textures, balance and others. Keep up the single channel work!
🙏🙏🙏
I love the Zen of it: no expectations, no disappointments. Thank you again, Tomasz.
🙏🙏🙏
Fun to experience the walk with you. 😊 I tend to feel like I need to dedicate hours to a photo exploration, so the idea even of just a short photo walk of 15-30 minutes is something I need to try more!
🙏🙏
I really like these photo walks. Your approach is very much in line with the way I like to shoot. I usually go out with no preconceived goals. It usually works better for me than chasing specific photos. Keep up this type of video please.
Thanks so much, Bill.
I loved it!
🙏🙏
Great encouragement to take photos, have time but not spend a whole day with it. Thanx Thomasz. One can tell by your pictures, motive, compostions and colour grading, all the practise that you had in the last 15+ years. PS: Was great to meet you in Basel!
Thank you, Tom!
Interesting to see images that you captured that I wouldn’t have even noticed and other images that I noticed that you walked right past. Everyone has such a unique focus in their photography.
Great video.
That’s the beauty of it! Thanks so much for watching and leaving your kind comment.
I enjoyed this. I liked that you said to relax and the images will come to us. I also look up and down to take photos. I'm glad you combined the channels. Thank you! Marta Feinstein
Thank you, Marta 🙏🙏🙏
lots of inspiration in this video and very nice challenge to watch, thanks for sharing
Thanks so much, Hugo. Happy to hear you enjoyed it 🙏
Fantastic! Thanks for the great inspiration!
My pleasure! Thank you so much for watching.
Another great video. It inspires me to go out more often with the camera, even if I only have 15 minutes. There's a little kind of game I play when watching these photo walk video's; I try to virtually join the walk and see where I would stop and imagine the photographs I would take. And then be pleasantly surprised by the images you saw and took. I already look forward to the next.
🙏🙏🙏
Love your photo walks! Fascinating to see what you choose to focus on as opposed to what I would focus on. It is an excellent exercise in ‘seeing’.
Nice to have a ‘helper’ with the video camera.
Thank you, Elaine. Happy to hear you enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this. Thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful images. I saw so many more that I would have photographed in those surroundings. What a beautiful place.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful! I enjoyed viewing your process for capturing images on a Photowalk and I am long overdue in thanking you for all your FRAMES Magazine newsletters that expose your subscribers to the work of so many great photographers! Thank you for contributing all of the inspirational content! 🙏🏾🫶🏾📷
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words.
I enjoyed tagging along with you. As I watch, I ask myself the question, “Would I have taken that shot?” And then I think about the reasons behind the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.
Thank you, David. I am happy to hear that I provoked some thoughtful thinking on your end :)
"just relax and the images will come to you" great mantra to keep in mind on a photo-walk!
Very cool shots and an inspiring Photowalk! Thanks!!!
Thank you, John. Happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Interesting to see how you add drama to very simple scenes in your edits and comparing what you respond to with my own observations. You really made the most of a fairly minimal environment. I often make photos like this at the start of a walk to sort of warm up or as you say, you might have something in mind but another thing catches your eye, so you take that photo. I like your stress free approach to it. I can get a bit down if I’m not finding anything i feel strongly about, so it’s good attitude to just chill a bit and enjoy the activity. I also love the evf and the flexibility of modern digital cameras.
Thank you, Roger.
We shoot such similar things! I'm screaming at you passing so many by also, Tomasz.
Great video
Please don't kill me, Andy!! :) I am sure I would be screaming at you as well ;) Thank you so much for watching.
YES 😊 and the corner in the small parking area, with the cable leading to a surveillance camera, but didn't include it.
And the blue refuse bags outside a door of the same colour😮
Thanks, I enjoyed the 15 min. walk. You came away with some good shots. I enjoyed trying to second guess what you were going to do as the video followed you, of course each photographer will see differently. I only saw a few that you did not show. Enjoyed this. Blessings to you .
Thank you, Chuck 🙏🙏
I get a lot of fun/utility out of little photo walks myself. Even repeatedly walking along a similar path, I find new things, or I find different views of things. I also have been “testing” a few new cameras, film stocks, and lenses this spring so I sometimes use a few similar shots to see how things react. I should probably try to reduce variables more, to make it more “scientific” but… I’ve been having a lot of fun 😸
Wonderful, Andy. Happy to hear that you are enjoying it as well.
@@framesmagazine anytime I can get out with a camera (or cameras) in hand is a good time 😺
64 images per hour, 8 hour workdays five days a week, and 130 000 + images per year. Lots of fun... 😊
Some excellent math here! 😀
Great shots Tomasz, I enjoyed it. I also agree keeping all the videos on the same channel because by doing so it keeps things from getting chaotic.
Thank you, Richard.
Enjoyable walk in a visually rich area, love those industrial, alley locations. I keep wishing for a model, so many good backgrounds for a cool portrait shoot too. The shot where you looked up, I really liked the video viewpoint with the strong angle of the building and the sky. Just after the closed gym I also loved those window reflections on the black pavement, I keep thinking, look down, look down! I am going to try this timed walk, but maybe not today as the temperature here in South Carolina is 107º F.
Thank you so much for leaving your kind comment, Charles 🙏
Nice video, it's great to see your process and imagine how you will photograph what you see and then seeing how you actually did it. Absolutely agree that it's important to relax and not force "finding" a photo, that doesn't work.
It will be fun to see the same walk again, maybe during another part of the day or another season, and I'm sure you'll end up with another 16 completely different images :D
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you, Ilse.
We seem to have the same modus operandi Tomasz. Photography as an improvisational art, which is precisely what life itself is. Merci!
🙏🙏🙏
Good to see the channels combined.
Thanks, Geoff! Yes, I guess it will work out much better for everyone involved :)
It is always interesting to see what you see and how you create artful photographs. I also envy your agility for shots so close to the ground. If I tried that, the cameraman would have to assist the octogenarian in getting down and back up again :)
Beautiful way to start my Saturday morning before my own walk. Thanks.
🙏🙏🙏
Tomasz. I went on a walk with you I took some photos of you walking on my computer screen. good ones to!
:)
Great idea for a realtime walkabout like this. Motivation to get of my arse and do something similar 😂
Go for it! 📷❤️
Hi Tomasz, nice Idea to limit the photowalk to 15 minutes in realtime and see the outcome. And I absolutely agree with you. If you're relaxed when you're taking photos, the pictures will come to you automatically.
Thank you so much for watching!!
I enjoyed this so much! Thank you for the inspiration - this made me realize that I put too much pressure on myself to get out and have some sort of plan or intended result and nope… just go out and walk for 15 minutes and if you shoot something you like - great, but if not that’s ok too… hmmmm I know this sounds like it should be self evident but… for me obviously not 😬🤣 Look forward to walking with you again soon. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for watching, Chris. Happy to know you found some inspiration here.
Great opportunities in Lucerne - color, shadow, people on the street, and umbrella serendipity. Thanks for another fast moving adventure in Photoland.
Thank you!
Well Done , Good thoughts shared
🙏🙏🙏
Love a good walk around and talk at the same time.
🙏🙏🙏
Excellent, really enjoy these, thanks 👍
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Love the pasion ❤
🙏🙏🙏
Artful idea. Like others I would have photographed many of the scenes that you chose. One challenge I make for myself is a similar process in a location that appears to be entirely void of anything photographically worthwhile - until you take your time to notice!!
Great idea! I might steal it one day from you 😀
I am stealing this idea😅
Catch the moment compositions. :-)
Terrific!!!
Thank you, Don!
It's always a good idea to focus your efforts into one channel 😊
I think so too!
Enjoyable and inspiring!🙏
🙏🙏🙏
Nice walkabout..thank you...who is your excellent viedographer following you!
I used some help of my son :)
I really enjoyed this video ( content, your insights, and images)
This should be a recurring episode four this channel.
Thanks for sharing! And take care and be well
Thank you, Dan! And absolutely: it will be a recurring theme here on this channel.
Excellent approach Tomasz. I was finding myself looking for images along with you. Cheers.
Thanks so much, Paul.
Very enjoyable! :)
Many thanks!
Oh great another toe walker. I can’t take it anymore! Nice fotos though
What do you mean by “toe walker” Dave?
Interesting and inspiring.
I would have shot the umbrella in portrait mode (you are allowed to).
Thank you so much for watching. Yes, would be probably even more interesting to compose it vertically.
So funny! Here, in America, our trash bags are white and black. Yours appear to be blue. The image of the blue trash bags against the blue building at around 15:00 would have been fantastic in my eye, but I guess so common there that you didn't see it or was too common to bother. I guess that's an argument for traveling to see things anew.
Thank you for your nice comments. I am sure the blue trash bags will make it into my portfolio one day! :)
I enjoyed your photo walk and the discovery process you use for your images. Did you use particular film simulations in camera for these images?
Thank you, Ron. Here, I edited that images on my computer and worked on their look after the fact.
Loved it
Thank you, Robert 🙏🙏
Very beautiful video, which fujifilm camera and lens do you use? Thanks Tomasz !!!
Thank you! It’s the Fujifilm X100VI.
What camera is used for video and what is the microphone in use? Great photo walk. Very unique to have continuous video, showing every shot, with smooth video context the whole way through.
Josh, it was filmed with one of the DJI Osmo cameras and the DJI mic. Thanks so much for watching!
What model is the camera?
I was using the Fujifilm X100VI here.
Big EVF myself too! Love the gym shot especially
🙏🙏🙏
Nice approach, Tomasz. Remember, graffiti is someone else's art, not yours. Always add something else that helps tell your story, make it yours.
Great point, David. Actually it went through my mind when taking that shot. At least I have a plant in this photo :)
@@framesmagazine Nice video... Would love to see more
I liked the journey Tomasz. But the music stopping abruptly was a bit jolting. I appreciate the contrast you were attempting, but it would be good to take the journey with the music just going down in volume for the stills. Thanks.
Noted! Will experiment.
Interesting : we do not see the same things, sometimes, but many times I would have been attracted to the same objects, and would have been inclined to take a photograph.
🙏🙏
Enjoyed it. Can you tell me what camera and lens you are using? When yo go from an area that is in the sun to an area in the shade, are you adjusting your ISO? It looks like you are shooting for the highlights.
Nancy, I used the Fujifilm X100VI here. I was in auto ISO mode, but it was so bright outside that I am sure it always stayed at its lowest setting.
@@framesmagazine Okay. Thank you.
Lens and body?
Fujifilm X100VI.
The only strong image was the white/red umbrella. The rest were just OK.
So interesting! For my taste, the umbrella image was the weakest of them all :)
Tomasz says it all here. Each of us sees things differently so we are bound to have different preferences depending on our experience and interests. I didn’t pick out favourite here. I was interested in the process.
With the exception of a few images, your shot selection is quite mundane given what the video shows and the possibilities presented
Everyone sees the world differently. What inspires one person leaves someone else wondering what the heck is that all about. That’s why you should only take photos that please you and not worry about anyone else’s opinion of an image.
I am sure you would have created a completely different set of images, Jimmy. That’s the beauty of it!
I was done with the 2nd picture. All youtube photographers suck, they do the same boring generic pictures.
Thanks! 📷❤️
Sorry, Tomasz, I didn’t appreciate this one as much as your previous walk when you visited the cafe. When you don’t have someone else photograph you the experience for the viewer is more intimate. I also like the way you show us how you approach the subject and focus in on the angle and composition that appeals to you. So personally I would prefer you go back to using the phone. Thanks for showing the images anyway.
Thank you for your feedback! I will be most probably going back to the previous format anyway, because I don’t always have the cameraman with me :)
