  • In this video, I'll show you my espresso and latte routine! This is something I've picked up over the lockdown and something I find really fun. Wasn't the best shot pulled as I haven't dialed in this bean yet but it's generally my workflow, enjoy!
    Pulled a natural processed Panama bean roasted at home just 1 minute past first crack, rested for 6 days. Notes of chocolate, nuts and a hint of floral notes at the end, really delicious.

    Nice video!!! I just think you should use a little more of coffee, the puck will be drier and will be easier to clean

    I too has been enjoying NZ. May I ask what knock box drawer are you using? And would you recommend it?

    • @themunchingchef
      @themunchingchef  Před 3 lety

      I'm using a Penini drawer knockbox i got off Taobao! This is the slightly smaller version that fits the NZ and Eureka Mignon grinders nicely. I would recommend it if you're short on counter space as most of the time it'll be closed and you'll have extra space to work with.

      @themunchingchef  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! I'm using a 58.5mm tamper that's similar to the Pullman one with adjustable height.

      @@themunchingchef Thank you. Do you mean the distribution tool or can you also adjust the height of the tamper?

      @@jcp3694 The tamper! The height of the tamper is adjustable based on the size of your hand using various shimmed you can add on to make it more comfortable to use.

    Can you weigh PF directly on felicita scale?

    • @themunchingchef
      @themunchingchef  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey there, thanks for watching this video!
      Yes, the felicita arc is wide enough to weigh the portafilter (both spouted and bottomless). Hope this helps :)

      @@ffadzill25 Nice! I heard that the only difference is the adjustable PID and the larger brew boiler, but steaming performance is just as good.

    2:22 either you tamp too hard or you put way too little grinds in your basket!!! you could at least put a few more grams in that basket easy. That depth seems too low to me.

    • @themunchingchef
      @themunchingchef  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for watching! Sharp eye, was using 18g of coffee in a 26.5mm IMS basket (20g). As I frequently switch between spouted (which I use the 18g basket for) and bottomless, usually I just stick to a consistent 18g. Depth of coffee bed doesn't affect the extracted coffee, and the only perhaps side effect would be a sloppier puck. Thanks for the feedback!
