One of those songs you can listen to a thousand times
And we have
A few thousand times
Doing that right now

I am
This song reminds me of the romance my wife and I share. 41 years and counting. " Looking back it's hard to tell why they stood while others fell".
that is beautiful so glad you were blessed with 41yrs of marriage. ❤
cringe
@@eddykidd bro you know we can see every comment you left on this channel. your a professional hater, the only thing that’s cringe is that your from Cobourg
Truly blessed imho . I did 3,600 miles by car to see my people in Ohio, Minneapolis and Tennessee and home to Vermont
Same, 37 years here
If Blue Rodeo were an American band, they'd be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already.
Not likely.
Yep.
I know, what's the matter with us?
You sure got that right
Yeah Stampeders , April Wine , Lisa Dalbello , Sloan, BTO , Trooper...
Blue Rodeo was criminally overlooked in the States. I can just remember these guys hitting the airwaves around 1990 as I was graduating high school, starting college. Good honest band playing good honest music and I made a committment to keep track of them. Then, grunge and the alternative wave hit, and they got lost in the flotsam. It wasn't until the dawn of the internet that I was able to go back and search them out and catch up on some of their music.
Damn good band. Damn good songs.
Yessssß😢
Absolutely 💯 %
I agree. Their top 5 are all hall of fame caliber. As a band horribly underrated
I am Brazilian and once I was bored to listen to the same songs. I randomly started listening to unknown international radio stations.
This song started playing out of nowhere. I ran to get my cell phone and activate Shazam.
How lucky, today I'm addicted to the Blue Rodeo.
Lost together, Hasn't hit me yet. You will not be disappointed.

Ta bon, Eh?
❤️
A very dear friend of mine loved this song. He died five years ago on May 1st. I will always think of this song as his. He loved me more than I loved him, I guess. But I loved him more than he believed. ❤️
I fell in love and played this song . My love went to rest and i feel her everytime i here this song . R I P. MY LOVE
This year it will be 11 years since my Mother passed away from ovarian cancer. My dad used to listen to this song and cry. Her birthday is May 9th
So sorry to read this. Your father had a great love for your mother. Love is a bittersweet gift but still worth everything.
So sorry to read this. Your father had a great love for your mother. Love is a bittersweet gift but still worth everything.
So much for 5 days in may
i cant listen to this song without crying, the closest i can describe is ... the smell of northern ontario in spring.....slight breeze through the pines
i can't love anything more
I'm American and have tears in my eyes as well. Peace and love from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.♥️🙏🇺🇲🇨🇦
these guys are the fabric of Canadian romantic music. Timeless.
Yes timeless well said!! : )

at 40 yrs old, been listening to this song almost all my life and IT is as good as ever, and gets me misty eyed every time..
Cool! stuff en effet.
This makes me so proud to be Canadian. These guys are so underrated and deserve way more recognition then they get. Blue Rodeo and The Tragically Hip are Canadian treasures.
Ford Downie sings like a sheep.
not to get religious on yall.....bt as the meek supposed to inherit the earth, well so shall the meek and keen of ear inherit the awesome sounds of awesome sounds of some of Canada's greatest musicians.....
I agree (from your American counterpart) LOL
Justin Spizzirri every Canadian band is underrated! Except Nickelback !

Here I am, 64 and remembering the 70s with such beautiful music.
I'll go to my grave having lived in the best of times and seeing the very best musicians.
Many many shows at the Montréal Forum.
Blue Rodeo are so talented. The melody and lyrics are so haunting and romantic.
I am a song writer! And in my book, Blue Rodeo has some of the best lyrics ever put to music in so many of their melancholy masterpieces! Damn! So fricken soulfully delicious!
Your comment makes me so happy
Would you happen to know in what key the harmonica is? I'm thinking the guitar part is in Em?
they will always be under rated because they will never sell out...They know who their fans are and that's all they need :)

Favorite band by far...
Moncton NB tonight and tomorrow Feb 6&7 2019
Tickets all sold out !!!!
Oh?
Agreed. And I'm ok with that ❤️
Everytime I go to Brazil, the country I was born, I introduce their old/new songs to my family and friends. I saw Blue Rodeo concert for the first time in Ottawa, at Parliament, in 2007 and I fell in love for their music.
I feel the same way, when I go back to Amsterdam, I'd love to play these tunes in the sun, while canoeing around the canals, of course with a small amount of refreshments!
A truly awesome Canadian gift, I am so proud to be Canuck ,luv ya guys
Canadians are just awesome! No two ways about it, eh.
ty from winnipeg,,,god bless
Yes.
Yes we are.
We rock, take care of each other
God bless from Saskatoon.
reminds me of long hot summers in canada when life was all fun. wish those days were still here

Yup
They are, come back to Canada and find them ❤️🇨🇦
Just heard this band for the first time a few months ago.....Dark Angel was the first song of theirs I heard and immediately fell in love with this band.....You Canadians need to share them more. I love every song I have heard of theirs/
thats an incredible song
Jim and Greg...LEGENDS!!!
Hard to believe, this masterpiece will be 25 years old this this year! It still sounds incredible.
Brings me back as a little boy dancing with my mom in the living room listening to this.
I remember when this was released ... thirty years ago, now. This song reminds me of my youth ... bittersweet nostalgia.
Rediscovered this song today. It played on the radio 8 years after I heard it for the first time when I was 12. So glad I stumbled upon this gem again, the harmonica solos scratch an otherwise unreachable part of my brain.
I know exactly what you mean. Great feeling!
This is my favourite song by these guys! I'm Canadian too! Just covered it on my channel. So much love.
best Canadian band. so underrated.
Joe Menghini Lighthouse in their day was much better....
@@cliffordgill9052 Nickelback?? Really?? Probably one of worst bands ever!! OH, and please take Celine back too!!
@@Newzchspy
Nickelback is a disgrace to Canadians
420 Express yes and they should disavow Celine Dione too. The screeching annoyance. Lighthouse was probably the best band outside of Rush and Triumph to come out of Canada. They were Canada’s Chicago. One Fine Morning!!
Newzchspy Rush... the screaming indian... definitely not the best. The hip, the guess who...
Just watched Blue Rodeo perform last Thursday in Winnipeg. SO good!! This was their opening song
My favorite band I saw them In Brampton, Ontario in Garden Square last year (2016) I bet they will never forget me the crazy lady dancing in her wheelchair. Jim Cuddy kept smiling at me. Love that they are A Canadian Band. love, love, love, them. I hope they come back again. what a great nite. Thanks Jim.
For me it's my dad. He used to play it on his guitar all the time back when my parents were together. It was a long time ago, but it's one of those moments I miss, you know?
Two million now.
One out of sixteen Canadians listened. Who knows how many Americans.
Grew up listening to this album on the drives to the cottage. This album is the exact length it took for my dad to drive from the driveway of our house in the city to the driveway of our cottage. Such quality music
Some of my favorite childhood memories revolve around the same thing. I grew up in a big city (Toronto) and hated it. From as early as i can remember i hated being in cities, but every summer when my biological father got his yearly two weeks with me and my siblings he would take us way the hell out into the middle of nowhere to a place called club 10, it was a tiny little camping ground you bought property on and could set up a trailer on your lot. There was a total of 12 trailers and that was the extent of human population for a solid 30km in any direction, and i loved it there. Only time i felt at peace was at club 10 because it was far away from the city and just wilderness and i always felt i belonged there, we hunted, fished and swam in the lake, cooked whatever dinner we had caught in a fire pit and just existed and it was as close to perfect as i ever felt even despite my dad always being drunk off his ass the whole time. I would get lost for hours in the woods and just wander and it was amazing. My dad always put this song on when we were on the final stretch of road before reaching club 10, i could be dead asleep and this would come on and i would jump up in excitement. To this day this song makes me happy thinking of those memories. I eventually moved to a small town in bc where i can spend as much time as i like in the woods away from the city.
Sorry for over sharing.
@@daltonevans3412 I really enjoyed this read, I have a similar feeling about a cottage my family used to rent every summer for a few years near Huntsville (I think, somewhere around there). Not a very happy family life, but the trees and water and general “nature” brought me so much peace.
was your cottage near apsley/bancroft lol
@@daltonevans3412 Definitely No Need to Apologize. But that’s what we Canadians do‼️
This song is so beautiful.
I'm sometimes feel embarrassed at work when this song is singing in my head and i am tearing up
Love this song, one of the best bands as far as I'm concerned. Proud to be Canadian.
True Canadian Gold ❤️💜
Legendary song, piano sounds likes drops of rain falling rythmically, so many different atmospheres in this song ,classic!
The sweet 80's & 90's in Montréal.
I was at a music festival a few weeks ago and Blue Rodeo played. They started with this song. Honestly, if I'd been stricken with lightening I would have been thrilled to meet my maker with this song in my head and my big, huge smile.
Live in Ireland and have followed BR since 1999. So under estimated . Great music.
They're probably from Irish descent. With more Nature in them.
If this song doesn't move your soul then you're probably dead inside.
Lost a lifetime friend recently. Her husband is devastated. This was the first song I could think of for them, and me.
I still cant listen without crying. Video is spot on which hurts even more.
😭😭😭
hug ❤. it'll be ok in time
“Rain on the windshield headed south” is a masterfully rhythmic lyric
This song makes me want to lie in bed all day and night with the one that I love with all my heart and soul.
Yes
I get it - I felt this was an anthem for my ex GF...Lost Together but alas different paths led to different life directions.
Hearing this live, stretched out for ten to twelve minutes is amazing!
it just amazes me why they did not hit it big in usage! they are world class writers And singers!
THey're pretty well know in USA; fly under the radar, kinda like KDLang, not so for Niel Young. If they played NY and other US venues would be great.
They didn't want to!
I met the band in '03 in an SF bar they played, with a 200 capacity that was half empty! Jim Cuddy told me though that in US cities near the border like Buffalo (and I think Seattle but I'm not sure if he mentioned that one), those Americans get Canadian radio stations, so they are more familiar, and so Blue Rodeo can play to bigger audiences
I am one of those that was born in the last five days in May. I first heard this song on my birthday and loved it. Great job.
The band is hot too.
I love blue rodeo...absolutely amazing. I've seen them twice and would pay to see them again. Such meaningful songs
Music that inspires and move the inner soul, great music. Timeless I agree
You know a song is awesome when it makes your spine tingle. My spine is tingling.
You're experiencing "The Fizz."
Seeing them live gives you goosebumps
Always and forever one of my favourite groups.
This song is the exact story how I met the love of my life. This is now and will always be our song. I love BR and Jim Cuddy in infinity.
i think this song makes every single person miss someone in their lives for some reason, great song
Every song by this amazing band is a soul massage.
Just a gorgeous song. Cuddle up to your significant other and give them a squeeze.
Just saw Blue Rodeo at Molson Amphitheatre (Budweiser Stage now, I guess, I'm reluctant to call it that... it just doesn't sound right! Haha) and it was amazing! They've still got it! Even in a thunderstorm! What a treat to see them!
One of my all time favourite songs.
Such a beautiful song 💖
Lads, they are far from being underrated. They are a benchmark all Canadian bands have to work themselves up to.
this song brings back memories and it makes me feel safe because my mum would always listen to this back when i was little
what a tune.. It used to lull me to sleep as a child and now it just brings me to tears with all the memories we've come to share.
One of my favourite albums....hauntingly beautiful
Seen this band Twice...
One was when I stood out in the cold of toronto.
It was general admission.
So glad I froze my ass off.
They warmed me up as I was in second row.
I'll never forget it!
I love this band soooo much!
That was 20 years ago and I'm only 43...
Lol sooo worth it ,
I would do it again in a heartbeat!
I never get tired of this song. I'm really glad I've been able to see them (and meet them) here in the US where they play much smaller venues.
I remember dancing to this song with my dad when I was a little girl 💗
♥️️
This song
"sets me on my feet and wipes the tears from my eyes
Watched these guys live at the Windsor Casino on December 1st and they opened the show with this. So amazing live. Great instrumentals.
Saw them once in Nashville. One of the best shows I've ever seen. And I go to a lot of shows.
Whose still listening in 2020
2021 get with it :)
Never mind listening...I have playing and singing this song here there and everywhere since it came out. Family reunions, campfires, small clubs and cafes....even busking the streets of Calgary Alberta (noting the city for our foreign friends, far and wide....) - Cheers
this is one of my favorite songs 🥰
One of the most severely under rated bands.
The best song I have ever listened
This song is truly wonderful.
My absolute favorite Blue Rodeo song. This has summer time written all over it. Something about Blue Rodeo and Summertime go hand in hand.
I feel in love in San Diego and this song is truth for me. I cry listening to it.
This song is beautiful
Their best song in my opinion. Had my kids hear this and they loved it!
Love this song, one of the best bands in Canada as far as I'm concerned.
Such a beautiful song...:-)
They finally met in a hurricane ... Rain on the windshield heading south - oh she loved the lines around his mind... Whole song awesome ...
Still listening in August 2020!! Takes me back to my teen years, came up on my parents music. Not many people I know are into the same music as I am. Their loss. This is good tunes!
They were the first album I ever purchased, when I was 6 years old, nearly 30 years ago now. But still these songs rocket me back to a place and time in my life when I was so happy and care free. They are 1 of 2 bands in my life that has always been constant.
Just great. Seen them live many times and always great performances
3:35 Always loved this near the end of the song.
So nice to have seen them live in Hamilton a few years ago…memorable moments in life! Will never forget that special evening...
this isnt music this is poetry one of the only songs i know that will punch your soul
Got to see these guys live at the university of Alberta, hmmm.. 16 or so years ago now. Was an absolutely awesome concert and one of my favourite Canadian Bands!
Some of Canada's best
Yes! indeed. Oui! en effet.
I'll never forget when I was doing community service at a donation center for a stupid crime I committed and me and this guy that actually worked at this place sang this song together when it came on the radio. This guy was a stubborn guy but we shared a special moment singing this song together.
this song was 9 years ago and i just found this song in 2021. i love it so much.
It's nearly 30 years ago!
A classic forever!! :)
Blue Rodeo produce such great compositions for us enthusiasts of music. I was lucky to meet a Canadian woman who introduced me to these guys.
Just commenting to help promote this song for the algorithm. I remember my uncle playing this album on repeat, at the cottage in North Ontario. Fantastic, underrated song.
love this so much!! that line... She loved the lines around his mouth... really gets me.
Funny how you hear a line in a song & realize it's true, even if you weren't conscious of it until that moment...
This song is a hit for any time period. It has depth, nice job.
What a Fantastic song and Performance! We never hear it here in the states, too bad this group is great! Thank you for posting it.
Canada's best Group!
Greg Keelor & Jim Cuddy are the Lennon/McCartney of country rock!
That is so true
This song makes me cry so hard
Just an all round awesome band and I can only pray I get to see them before I die
One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Thank you!
A most beautiful song.
This was my parents favorite song it's a beautiful song ✊😎👍
