Far North has quickly become one of my favorite distilleries. I love their Roknar!
It’s so good!
wife calls it Viking Juice
Oh awesome, i live 9 miles from the distillery. Been there a few times for the cocktail night.
My father was raised 6.5 miles due north of this distillery. Just a few days prior to an anniversary of his passing I went on line after a long cribbage-whisky session with a neighbor. I ordered the Roknar and the Bodalen (bourbon) just before midnight on a Saturday. The bottles were on my step the following Tuesday morning. I drinks these only on special occasions associated with my father and his 25+ years USAF. I, too wish I could get my hands on some of these varietals.
I love Far North. I know they are known for their rye but I love their Bodalen bourbon. They also make some weird gins and rums that are kind of awesome. They used to have "Maryland-style" rye aged in a French desert wine cast (I forget the type). It was my go to Manhattan whiskey.
I have wanted to make it to their distillery for years but they are over 2-hours north of Fargo and have not been able to make it happen
PS. Far North does have distribution in Oklahoma. I know that is not exactly close to Austin, but it is the closest I could find.
PPS. Far North will ship their standard offering right off their website. It comes down to if Texas will allow you to have a bottle shipped to you. I know nothing stronger then wine is "supposed" be able to ship to my state, but it is up to the shipper to confirm. I have had a bottle shipped to me before I found out I couldn't.
Minnesota kid here. Far north is my favorite distiller in the state by far
Might have to go to Minnesota and find that. Big fan of a good rye!!
My parents used to live in Hallock where Far North is, but alas they moved and it’s hard for me to get now. Such an awesome family business
SO excited that you’re a fan of Far North! We live about an hour from them, and they gave a presentation about their process and product at one of our local liquor stores. The thought and care they put into their business is incredible!
Absolutely wonderful
Your not wrong
3/5 stars wouldn't change a thing
I am a big fan of Roknar. Far North is who got me interested Rye. I will have to chase down a bottle of this. Thank you for reviewing.
I live near there . The hunt begins .
The opening felt like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
I've heard about Far North but haven't tried it yet. I am a sucker for the Grain-to-Glass Distilleries though. Love it as always. Cheers my friend 🥃
Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Hidden Drams Neighbor!
Woohoo for more distillers giving a tremendous amount of information!
They also raise the bees for pollination
Thanks for the video 🥃
Wonderful as usual.
Pssst - you have a person up in the frozen north who can source these bottles. 😁
3 out of 5, wouldn't change a thing.... hilarious
Crookston, MN. is about 150 miles from Canadian border, it's not right on it.
We’re in Hallock - just 25 miles from Canada.
Did the format for Gifted Drams change? There was no hat to pick out of. Or are you running out of gifted whiskies?
Technically, this was a hidden dram because it's a rare craft whiskey distillery, and the gift was from one of our students and not the brand trying to get promoted

What happened to Rex?
You must have missed the video where they said Daniel had to step away from the "tribe" and Crowded Barrel to focus on the Wizard Academy and the Vault. I think they had to draw some lines for legal reasons iirc. So you won't see much of Rex here or Daniel over there.
