It’s a lot of work, it not just a lifestyle, it’s your job. This is why not everyone can do it, I have alot of respect for y’all.
Yeah! It’s both a lifestyle and running an entire business/production company. For some people it can be a casual thing depending on their industry but for others it SOO much work

My fav CZcamsrs rarely post but it’s so hard to find CZcamsrs that resonate with you. However, that also drove me to start my own channel and be consistent with it.
I think when you find a CZcamsr who you resonate with you’re more likely to be involved in their content long term ☺️ I think creating a space for those who resonate with you is also a beautiful thing!
If you treat CZcams like a full time career, it's okay to plan for retirement the same way you would for any other career. One of the best perspectives on this so far! Thank you 💛

They ain't leavin they are redirecting to a new era of CZcams, faceless and AI less work, less workers in order to do that you have to shut down the business you grew or you sell it, they simply are leveling up.
Bingo, posted about the same thing in my comment. A lot of the big-wigs are choosing to remain involved in a smaller capacity. Can't blame them though since the CZcams game is a grind!

Interesting video! A lot of those big-time CZcamsrs have been in the game for 5-10+ years which can be exhausting. Also, in addition, they aren't necessarily full-on quitting, some are still choosing to be involved to a lesser extent like through script writing.
This is good news for coming up creators that just started on the platform in 2024 though! Especially with a focus on returning to the authentic style of CZcams with low edited videos, authentic conversations, and a fun vibe to them. Cheers!

I jumped into CZcams not realising how much work it would be and omg burned myself out so hard. But putting less pressure on myself right now since I’m a one woman show with an occasional editor who also has another business and is a real estate investor. Using it more as a fun creative outlet for now until I can hire a team ☺️
Bingo! Well said on looking it as a fun creative outlet, the best thing about CZcams is that if you are consistent and keep posting material that your audience relates to, you will grow.
But please take care of your mental state first, it's not worth burning yourself out over something like this.

I'm actually getting ready to start my channel, and I was always worried that it was too saturated, but this has revealed the really natural cycle of youtubers. It doesn't mean youtube is dying or whatever. It's a natural cycle, and there will always be room for you.

I absolutely love this video and your emphasis on preventing burnout and just being honest about what makes you happy as a creator. One thing I’m not hearing in the quitting discussion is what is the long-term strategy could it should look like.
As a smaller creator here on, CZcams, I haven’t even reached anywhere near the level of success that those larger CZcamsrs have yet I experience burnout as well. I’m constantly asking myself what my exit strategy should be.
Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

Millie, It’s a love / hate situation . It’s incredibly difficult for small creators like myself. Doing CZcams full time, trying to learn from creators like yourself & TM etc., on how to get better, all the while managing the business that actually pays me.
If I didn’t invest so much money and time, I would have given up.
Totally understand!! It can be a lot of work to build a channel and then sustain it. I think it’s super important to find a work life balance that works for you and your channel. Whether that’s altering your posting schedule or repurposing content etc. It may not be easy at first but I personally think it’s worth it! ☺️

THE BEST TIME TO START IS NOW 👏👏👏 (I literally was like... is typing like this some kind of secret SEO strategy that I don't know about? And then went through a few of your other captions to see if this is a regular game we play around here that I've been missing out on hahaha). SECONDS ago, I was writing a big fat "CZcams Journey" update on Patreon for all of my peeps and I said EXACTLY THE SAME THING TO THEM when reflecting on how it's never too late to start, even when it feels like it! We started our CZcams channel back in 2020, but only JUST seriously committed to it this year. It's been a wild amount of work between my partner/editor and myself, but it's also been extremely cathartic, fulfilling, and in a lot of ways, an excellent break from the non-stop IG grind 🥰

I’ve been on CZcams for some years and i agree it takes a lot of work to grow your platform. Sometimes you get discouraged because you don’t get the views and subscribers. But I’m trying to look past the numbers cause I’m passionate about this.

@@thelifewithnate My journey has been interesting to say the least. I started in 2010 and I used to post about school, hair styles and me singing or learning a new language. I kept doing random things for a while until last year when I started posting about my book I wrote. I learned patience and discipline from having my CZcams channel all these years. I wish I didn’t give up. I revamped my channel to Authortube because that’s the path I’m on for now.
Yes! The numbers aren’t everything. It takes time to grow but I think it’s totally worth it! ☺️

Some of my videos get tens of thousands of views… some of em get literally 10 views 😬 but it’s all part of the journey and i’m enjoying it.

@@tomnethercott Nice… i have one video that gets about 600-1000 views per day from “suggested”. its a short film I made called Blood Money. let CZcams tell it, about 93% of the views came from suggested.
I wish i could replicate that success reliably though.

I never understood why people want to scale(i.e., hiring employees,etc.) . If things were working as a solo, why break the cycle?
People follow others instead of sticking to their own growth as a creator or business owner. Just my thoughts...
This same thing happened to me. My "passion" business ballooned into having a team of almost 10 people, thousands of customers, and lots of stress. I scaled everything back, only have 1 team member, and took most of last year "off" to regroup
And that’s totally okay! It can be a lot very quickly and if the scaled back version works for you, that’s what matters ☺️
We live in such an echo chamber today that "all of a sudden" everyone is quitting. The thing is, it's in just about every industry. We evolve, we shift, we grow into new seasons of life. Follow your passion, see where it goes, adjust as needed :)

so i have always had a dream of working with social media and share my love for Fashion but also posting inspiring content and aesthetic pictures and videos! I am aware that you have to post regularly to build up your audience and account but what should i do if i have nothing to film or no good videos to make a reel of how do you come up with what to post then?
Those of us who are smaller creators just starting or getting back into social media (especially YT) are definitely making a mental note of what NOT to do by watching you guys scale back or "quit". It'll help this next generation of creators be a lot more sustainable. We are also a lot more automated than you guys used to be when you first started, so we definitely plan to use that to our advantage!
Because CZcams is so new, we’re still learning about how to scale effectively! Taking notes and learning from others is huge! ☺️

I’m wondering how to do well in a specially narrow niche, like the industry of outdoor digital signage. It’s rarely viewed and nearly gets no subscribers. Could you please advise on the matter?
I think we’re going through a transitioning time. Some people feel guided to go else where which is fine,
I totally agree! People’s wants and desires change and that’s okay! ☺️
I’ll tell you why! CZcams stopped recommending people‘s videos, even to subscribers, in hopes that you will now pay for platform space with their new promotion feature. Also CZcams is trying so hard to compete with TikTok, they are favoring short form content with low effort instead of longform content with heavy editing.
Their algorithm has changed, but I also think they’re still working through the new features they’re offering. I recommend encouraging your followers to turn on notifications for your content!☺️
*_It's pretty interesting to see that it's mostly guys and not girls, who are deciding to leave CZcams. They're talking about stepping aside for the next gen, which is kind of funny when you think about it. It's like they believe they're hogging all the space and need to move over to let the newbies in. But the whole idea that new CZcamsrs won't make it big just because the old guard is leaving is kind of silly. CZcams isn't a room where only so many people can fit. It's all about coming up with cool stuff and connecting with people. There's room for everyone, no matter who sticks around or heads out_*

I've never heard of any of them except for Lau. Makes sense since all I follow is car content. Yt is NOT easy especially for car content.
I think it’s important to look at where your ideal audience is spending their time and how your content is different from others in your niche. Your unique perspective is valuable and you totally got this! ☺️
Think of it in network TV terms. Most shows only last a few seasons, they can’t all be NCIS. Actors work a few years, and move on. It just means there’s space for new people to move in, and new channels to enjoy.
I’ve never heard of any of these CZcamsrs but I think after you do anything for a while burnout is almost inevitable. Lucky for them quitting or retirement is an option and they can move onto other things.
Burnout is definitely on the rise, which is why I think finding the balance before burnout is super helpful. I’ve experienced burnout in my career but I’ve redirected and found joy again! ☺️

That’s why you need to create at a rate that is happy for you. I went up against a friend that got 5k views in 28 days making 14 videos and I did that with 4 videos.

I love CZcams. I started my channel to show the BTS of me creating my children’s books and launching my business and I love having this place for longer form content. I feel like you really can connect with people on here. I also don’t feel like CZcams is against me like IG. Something I think some creators don’t think of is starting a at a pace you can keep up and it won’t burn you out. Especially as creative people one of the worse thing you can do is put on extra stress, it stifles creativity.

You have to keep grinding out new content consistently. And most youtubers are just copying each other's content. Not much originality. How long can you keep it up?

It’s a cycle! I may be wrong but maybe it’s the time for the “new generation of creators” to run social media. It’s really sad to see these legends go but that still doesn’t change the fact that people will do their thing until their last video and will be “replaced” by new people. It’s just what i think pls don’t come at me lol

The platforms become what the masses want them to be, and if a platform isn’t fitting someone’s goals anymore that’s okay! There’s a natural shift and changes in trends over the years and some creators aren’t always wanting to change and that’s okay too ☺️

Except for the last 2 of which I don't follow over a year now, this is telling that these top creators CZcams had pushed period and it's almost nothing that I'm interested in which explains the difficulty of why different niches have difficulty reaching their audience because maybe their audience isn't. The type that CZcams considers as big watchers? Since the whole point of this platform is to somehow make money. I pretty much ignore click bait title videos.
CZcams does push out content that a lot of people are viewing and watching because it assumes if lots of people in your demographic are watching you may interested in that content as well. Doesn’t always work like this, but that could be why☺️

Thank you for the insight. I love data as well and it's very helpful to hear your insight. As a small channel i'm still trying to find some balance so that I don't completely burnout. I have an art channel but art is also what helps me destress so I have to walk that fine line of not making the thing that helps me destress become stressful.
With Tom though, 1 video a week doesn't seem like much, but, there are creators who only do like 1 video a month, which at that point, to me, is almost like why bother.

Some people do more or less videos a week! Everyone’s posting schedule is different, but some content takes longer to create so it just depends☺️
