  • No, I'm not crazy and I don't believe in things I haven't seen, but I got my a$$ out of that bear blind in a hurry. There isn't another human for miles, so what was making this noise? I have been hunting since I was a little girl and know what woodpeckers sound like, this was not one. The louder sound came from the North and the quieter sound came from the South this went on for over 15 min before I got out of Dodge. I am not the only one who has heard these sounds from this patch of woods. WTF was it? Oh and thanks Prepperchickie for talking me into posting this video TTF

    I've heard woodpeckers do this all the time. I've seen pileated woodpeckers go from sounding like rapid fire, to the sound of someone framing houses, to small taps like the one in this video. I'm sure the type of wood, the layer of wood and a lot of other biological factors play an effect. Not to mention that songbirds seem to start a cycle of cause and effect. One makes a sound and the whole forest comes alive. Same thing with squirrels barking

    Growing up near forests most of my life tells me this could be absolutely anything. The minute you think you know everything an animal or bird will do,they'll do something different you've never seen or heard before. It's impossible to pin it down to 1 or 2 possibilities, so it's best to leave it as another mystery from the forest & I'm not ruling out the fact it could also be 1 or 2 Bigfoot's communicating through wood knocks,which I've also heard myself while in a forest

    Great audio, you're location is a hotbed of activity, so don't be surprised as you keep hunting bear, that your lucky enough to bee a Biggin', I hope you do, and please don't be afraid, they WILL NOT hurt you (especially us females...LOL) I will tell you this though, I've seen two in the daytime and by our standards they are quite hideous and shocking to see = scary looking and large... try not to be afraid and remember; where there's one there are more, they live in families just like us and I'm sure they must understand we are somehow related & we're not on the menu!!!!

    It was the tapping. There was tapping from 2 different directions. I have spent many many hours in the woods and never heard anything like this. I never said it was a BF, just thought I'd put it out there cuz it intrested me. The bird is not what scared me. It sounded like someone building something, but we are nowhere near any other people, so......it bothered me

    the tapping on trees is to locate wood grubs. trees with grubs in them have a different sound when tapped. the grubs are a very rich source of protein.

    My buddy had a similar (but more involved) experience in upstate NY when he was a young man. He is a very level headed, honest guy. He told me about his ordeal over beers one night, and I was the first person he told outside his immediate family. I asked him why he was relaying this story to me after keeping quiet for more than half a century. Said he just wanted someone to know about it before he died. Google something like "sasquatch, upstate NY". I was pretty intrigued by the result.

    Have heard sounds like this many times before. When they're accompanied with growls or grunts you really take notice. It's hard to say, never heard so many consecutive knocks. Just bursts of two or three.

  • @jimmyjam700
    @jimmyjam700 Před 9 lety

    If your close enough to smell it, your close enough to hear it walk. if there was more then one, you would of heard vocals too. just to make sure, you heard knocking only? No wood braking, foot steps, grunts, bushes shaking, or small animal warning cries.

    At 16:00 to approx. 34:00 at BOTTOM CENTER-ish of FRAME. Possible LITTLE FACE w/ DARK EYES just at the top of the yellow-brown straw looking patch. Take note that it SLOWLY ducks down and does not appear to because of CAMERA TILT or ZOOM. Possible EYESHINE above this seen at end of ZOOM OUT for balance of the scene. The tapping might be rocks clacking of wild walnuts elsewhere. The last rock throw sounds like rain on canvas(?)

      The consensus is that BF can see much more of the light spectrum than we can. We see visible light. Apparently they can see infrared and beyond. Trail cameras emit IR light so it shines like a beacon to them and they are easily able to avoid trail cams if they want.

    • @PetPrepper
      @PetPrepper  Před 9 lety +1

      The poor bear? That is how I feed my family, if you would rather think your meat comes from the market, more power to you. No, I don't shoot firearms through the screen, visibility 15 feet? • @jimmyjam700
      @jimmyjam700 Před 9 lety

      PetPrepper Poor bear, yes. unsuspecting, unarmed. I did not know you kill them for survival. most people in America don't have to. so sorry. Fact my meat comes packed from frig at the market, I don't want my family eating uninspected meat or raccoons. out the blind window you filmed threw it looked like a bear would be about 10 feet before you could see it so I gave 5 more feet. sorry again. custom made gun yea right but ok. I do know your smart enough to know that all animals in the wood will attack including a BF. so keep your big gun close when the hear on your neck stands up.
