- Amid blistering heatwaves, July is "virtually certain" to be the world's warmest month on record, say scientists.
So hot has the month been to date that researchers are confident the 2019 record will be broken, even with several days to go.
UN chief Antonio Guterres said the planet is entering an "era of global boiling".
Scientists agree the extra heat is mainly linked to fossil fuel use.

I always thought "boiling" was 100 degrees C
It depends on what you're boiling. If you want to boil oil you'll have to get it up to around 300 degrees C. If you want to boil gold you need to be approaching 3000 degrees C. In this context, the term "boiling" refers to extremely hot weather; some people also use the term "roasting." But you knew that, didn't you? Not so smart arse.

Same reason it has happened in Greece. The jet stream is wobbling. Pulls the hot weather up to the Med from the equator and the cold weather down to the UK and other Northern European countries from the north. The BBC, amongst others, have explained it very well. Not very accurately but geologists have been able to piece together a chart of climate change over the last 50 million years. Don't expect to see that on the BBC anytime soon or to hear about what happened to Doggerland.

Probably one of the worst harvest weather see in the UK at the moment! Many farms around 10-14 days behind schedule which may not sound too bad but the longer the grain is left outside in wet weather the more it`s likely to be wet enough to start germinating again! If it doesn`t start germinating the price will be affected by the extra energy used to dry it!

They are not talking about the UK though are they, meathead? The jet stream has been forced further south in part due to rising Arctic temperatures, which is the cause of the current weather in the UK. And July isn't usually wet and cloudy. Why are you lying? Many of us live in the UK too.

The ocean in Florida yesterday was reported to be 100f, but that is misinformatios...it reached 101f at one particular bouy that was more in the everglades than the ocean, in 3-4 foot of water, with dark seabed, it reached that temp for 5 minutes due to tides and intense sunshine and little water flow! Within 6 hours it was below 90f, u know, diurnal temperatures are a thing!
Still waiting to hear about what exactly can be done, how it will work and how long it will take.
