- Shocking scenes of desperation and chaos in Afghanistan are stunning people around the world as the country falls into Taliban control. The takeover comes just weeks before the anniversary of the September 11 attacks that precipitated the US’s twenty-year military presence in the country. Afghans desperate to flee the Taliban’s violence are taking extreme measures. Hundreds of men were seen swarming an American cargo plane as it took off from Kabul, with some even holding on as it ascended.
The pilot that carried 800 people on the plane that could only take 100 is a legend.
Lucky asf too! Lets say the average weight of a person is 150. 800x150= 120,000 lbs. A typical 100 seater like a airbus a220 can take off with 156,000lbs and land with 133,500 max. Also didn’t take to account cargo and fuel. One false calculation and it could have been over.

If they didn’t jump off there dead it’s sad but Even if they were able to hang on for that long which is impossible but even if someone manage to find a way the lack of oxygen at that altitude and the speed would kill a person in seconds and if anyone hit the ground and somehow did survive which is possible but slim the amount of pain they would feel before they would die would be too much for the body to handle

I saw a child get handed off to a soldier to save her...imagine knowing the best option for your child was to hand her to a complete stranger and never see her again...I don't even have kids and that ish is sad.

Hugging my babies a little tighter tonight, this is so heartbreaking. After seeing so many reports of parents handing their children over the wall to complete strangers in hopes that they might live, not knowing if they will ever get to hold them again is heart wrenching. May God bring peace, love, and protection to everyone.

These kind of things made me realise how lucky I am.I have good food to eat everyday,clean water to drink,a roof over my head,parents who care about me and ny siblings,a place where we live peacefully.I realise that I've taken things for granted,even if my family is struggling finincially I realise God's grace and mercy.I wish for all the safety of people in Afghanistan

I agree. I feel sorry for all those Afghan people, and it’s rather disgustingly horrifying what happened. I’m certain many died as a result of trying to grab onto a plane and losing their grip, being crushed in a landing gear (as one clip of a disturbing video showed), or diced by the wing turbine engines. Of course the United Arab Emirates accepts the 800 refugees, the country itself, especially Dubai, uses slavery for cheap labor. They take advantage of Indian and Bangladeshi immigrants; thus, I can only assume that they’ll do the same to the refugees.

But I'm living thousands of miles away in the Philippines, plus I'm working class and don't have that much money or resources to help, and also my country has a travel ban right now due to Covid.

Biden’s horrible removal plan has now endangered many Afghan children and Americans in the country as well. And he still doesn’t care. Trump was very good with foreign policy, and had a plan to keep some troops there to defend the capital city, and to make sure the Taliban don’t have access to American weapons.
Shows how committed the Afghan people were for freedom. Freedom comes at a cost...... and they were not willing to make the payment and were wanting others to do it for them. All the Afghan soldiers would do is use their months worth of fuel in 5 days, (they would sell the fuel and come back and ask for more). Inventory would be "misplaced", and they NEVER took the front foot when engaging the enemy. All they cared about was the money..... how is that working out for them now?!
This makes me sick. Especially for all the innocent children who will suffer so badly.

I can’t imagine being in that situation. I can watch these videos over and over again but I can never come close to feeling that fear and pain. I feel terrible for those people.

Talibans waited and got weapons and reinforcements, they read the Americans and knew when to strike. It’s bad for the Afghanistan community but if the Americans opened fire who knew how many of them would die.

What difference would it make if we left in May instead? If you're so tough, you should go fight the Taliban yourself. Leaving in May won't make a difference for the Afghans. But it will for the troops. No need to waste more American lives.

This arrangement was costing america a lot from the past years. This is just how the world works, we need to help ourselves no one will be here forever.
