LAST DAY IN THE FAROES - BOARDING ICELAND 4x4 camper trip

- We are on the last day at the #Faroeislands traveling in a 4x4 #campervan. We are going to 2 largest islands of the #Faroe archipelago Streymoy and Eysturoy.
On the first we go to the village Tjørnuvík is the northernmost village of Streymoy, Faroe Islands. The archaeological excavations of 1956 rewrote the history of the village, demonstrating that it already existed at the time of the Vikings, who were also known for living in places considered particularly inaccessible even today. The discovery of a bronze ring of Celtic origins, however, remains evidence of the link between the Faroe archipelago and the British Isles. As of the 2006 census, the population numbers a total of 71 people.
The peculiarity of Tjørnuvík is its location in the basin inlet which is located between the Risin og Kellingin, imposing rock mountains that descend sheer into an always agitated sea.
Eysturoy is the second largest island in the Faroe Islands and is connected to Streymoy by the only bridge in the archipelago. Which takes us to the highest peaks of the country and the main points of interest located all in the north of the island.
Crossed the bridge, direction Eiði; after about 6 km there are some places where you can stop and admire the Fossá waterfall again from another perspective.
One of the most beautiful panoramic roads on the whole island starts from Eiði, it is 12 kilometers long and crosses a spectacular mountain pass, passing directly under the highest peak in the Faroe Islands of Slættaratindur, crossing the Eysturoy Highlands and reaching the villages of Funningur and Gjogv.

The name of this very small village in Faroese means "crack" and is a reference to the natural harbor around which it was built. said to have been in use since Viking times, a narrow gorge with high cliffs on either side where Puffins, puffins, nest
