I feel that. My dad was going to name me Joseph, but my aunt said "Why don't we name him Raymond? There's a lot of doctors named Raymond." So now I'm Raymond and I'm 1 year away from becoming a pharmacist lol
so my parents let me pick my own name cause they don't know English, I choose Haley because I've never met an Asian girl with the name Haley, it's always Jessica or Amanda.

It Isn't that easy. When you try to correct someone for mispronouncing your name you feel awkward and kinda like an ass, and you see them keep trying to pronounce your name until you tell them the wrong one was right.

Steven Yeun would be a great Nightwing. He's handsome, charismatic and we know he can pull off action scenes. The fact he's Asian shouldn't matter if he fits the role. Nightwing isn't even that muscular, he has more of an athletic figure, more lean which definitely suits Yeun. And for people saying he's too short, look it up, Nightwing is only 5'10 175 lbs. YEUN IS 5'9, DUDE CAN TOTALLY PULL IT OFF.

Not even close. Even though I am an Asian, I don't want Nightwing to be an Asian guy at all. Nor do I want someone so skinny and short. Also I love Steven and his character portrayal of Glenn but Nightwing's a very complicated character. I would argue he's harder to play even more so than Batman so no. I want a great actor who's a tall muscular white guy to play Nightwing.

I'm Korean and I have "Sang" in my name too. When English-speaking people read my name, they always pronounce "Sang" as in "I sang a song." I used to correct them at first but after a while it gets tiring, you know. So now I just use an English name lol
Yeah, especially considering most English-speaking people only know English. I had a friend from Kenya who studied in England for a while. Her teachers didn't even try, they just assigned her an English name and called her that the entire time she lived there. She didn't get a say or anything. On the other hand, none of my Korean friends in the States have had any problems. It just depends on the school and the people you happen to be around, I guess.
In Australia, people who come here that have difficult to pronounce names just adopt an English name for convenience.
That's precisely the logic my parents use whenever I ask why my real name was changed from Jihoon to Alex. It's pronounced Jee-hoon, so I don't really see how that would be difficult to pronounce. In high school, I was known as Alex, but now that I'm in college, I introduce myself as Jihoon and never once has anyone screwed it up.
