Ham radio... my father was very much into that, he was 9A2VN. I remember when he got a card fom Japan once, and the letter was adressed to Yin San (his name is Sanjin) 🙂. Greets from Croatia mister, i love your hunting videos.
“When bad guy comes into my house, I shoot him in his face, absolutely.” I need this made into a T shirt or bumper sticker or something, most quotable line ever.
I had Japanese room mate Junichi years ago when I was studying at The University of Joensuu, Finland. I took him along with our Finnish room mate to a local indoor shooting range. I had my .22 lr Beretta and 9mm Tanfoglio pistols with me. After some basic safety and gun handling lessons I let them try shooting. Both of them did quite good with the .22 lr but 9mm did cause some problems :-). Because we were indoors surrounded by concrete walls the muzzle blast was really loud with the 9mm. My Japanese friend shot only one round and gave me the pistol back. The other rookie shooter did shoot more but he was shooting really low (under the target). I gave him the pistol unloaded and asked him to try dry firing the gun. It became clear that his nervous system was expecting the recoil so much that in the moment of releasing the shot his arms pulled the gun down. He couldn´t hold the gun steady no matter what. He thought it was funny though. Hope our trip gave them something to remember as time goes by. Antti From Finland PS. Keep up the good work.
I had that in mind when I decided to ask him to the range. Truly a once in life time kind of opportunity for him. I am looking forward for Your videos about deer hunting with rifle soon as You get Your licence for it. I have been looking for Your videos a lot lately and based on the landscape and environment in general I would say You will benefit greatly having a good rifle to hunt with. Accurate medium caliber rifle, say 6,5x55 / .260 Rem / .270 Rem, with premium bullets and You will have plenty of more effective range compared to Your current setup (.410 smoothbore with Slugs ?). Deer bucks beware!
i had the same idea for home defense. is it allowed to have a paintball marker in japan? sometimes called gotcha. caliber .68, they sell rubber balls for it which really hurt. delivered in full-auto by a high pressure marker it is a reason to leave your house immediately. if not knocked out :)
Love the stag stands, very nice indeed! I'd love to see more vids from you, about knives, hunting in Japan, and Japan's culture in general. Again, great video, thanks for posting, and hope to see another one soon!
I've been enjoying many of your knife reviews and hunting videos, and now I just found out that we share yet another hobby. 73 from Sweden :-) Keep up the good work.
That was a fascinating video. I look forward to watching more. I found you by searching for a video on sharpening convex edges. It was very helpful. Glad to find you. Greg from Kodiak Alaska.
@knivesandstuff Yes, they are my own photos. We exchange cards each other after radio communication as its proof. On the back of the card we write the date, time, radio frequency, and etc, then send them all together once in a month to the Japanese amateur radio league which delivers them to my radio friends. Thank you for your comment.
I live in orchard park New York, next to Lake Erie and Niagara Falls is a 15 minute drive from my home as well. We get tons of snow here as well, had 64" fall in a 24 hour period last year. But on average it snows about 24-36" so I can relate to your weather.
this is remarkable. I remember when he posted this video like it was yesterday. I've been a huge fan ever since the first few videos. so much has changed since then. crazy
We have paintball tools here in the market. They are 3 to 4 times more expensive than regular air soft guns. They seem like made in the US. But they seem like much more effective for unexpected wrong guys coming in. Thank you for the information!
@IKIDDP5 It is very easy to get deers in Hokkaido, so I use a 12GA and a .410 slug guns. The kill range is 150 yards. The Japanese strict gun control law doesn't allow me to use rifles yet.
I am saving so I can probably buy an FT950 by December this year... I am working on getting my CW right. Hope to hear you some time... Of course, I must get my license first. I have been only a listener for 32 years. 73 de HR2xxx!
@virtuovice Wako, is there anything I can do in my videos to help you understand me a little better? I am more than willing to change the way I speak if it helps you understand me more. I know my thick southern accent can be difficult to understand, as even native english speakers can have a hard time with it. Thanks for your awesome videos Wako san. :)
on the SOG Flash 2, I glued my lock to the open position with super glue. I got tired of it closing on it's own and the knife being locked when I needed to open it quickly. I really am not impressed with the quality of the knife.
This is my favorite video in a long time, from any user on any subject. Out of curiosity, do you ever post to nicovideo? I have wondered why youtube, perhaps it is hard to find people with this hobby in Japan? I wouldnt be surprised. Anyway this video has a strange charm, gotta say though Im a pepsi guy myself lol.
Jimping: Also known as Lashing Grommets. It is the notches in the back lower blade of some knives to provide better thumb control of the knife. jimping wa dai ski desu. Your English seems to improve. My Japanese is worse! hahahahahah
WeatherChart and 空模様 they are. WeatherChart is from the satellite image up above Japan, and 空模様 is Japanese specific program, in which you can't put your location surely.
Good to see hunting thriving in Japan! I am a South African hunter and was surprised to see that private firearms are allowed in Japan. If you are ever here in Johannesburg, South Africa you should come to one of our shooting clubs and try a real GLOCK.
@virtuovice wow that is so interesting im sorry if that seemed like a stupid question its just that i have had very little experience with japanese culture and was curious thank you so much for the answer
@jdavis882 I just meant that your English was too well pronounced for me to understand everything you said. Honestly speaking I can understand around half of American native speakers say. I took your name because he took your name. I am a subscriber of mindsmirror and I can understand one fourth of his fluent English. When I cannot listen to someone's English very well, I always think his English is too fluent for me to take. I have never thought of you have a southern accent. Stay safe!
すごい!日本版のNutnfancyようなchannelを見つかった!I am surprised I didn't find your channel earlier! I live in Tokyo and have made friends with a group of guys that have their Japanese shotgun/rifle license and go hunting like you do. I want to get my gun license if possible and join them...I look forward seeing your videos! 宜しく!
im sorry if this comes off as ignorant or offensive in any way so please excuse me but when you watch say j davis on you tube do you have trouble understanding his accent also is it very common for Japanese people to speak English? i understand that english has become somewhat of a universal business language but i was led to believe that japan was almost entirely Japanese speaking ex: being Japanese public transportation is in Japanese and from what i can tell your television
@virtuovice Oh I didn't take offense to it at all! I wonder if you will understand us more and more, after you listen to us speak more? It was a little hard for me to understand you in some of you earlier videos, but now no matter what I always know what you are saying. Probably because I have spent so much time listening to you talk. Haha. Your Gayle Bradley is going out this week, hopefully it won't sit in customs for a month like my last international shipment. :)
sorry to bother again... but when you get tired of your knives you could ship them out here to guam and I can give a second opinion on the use. just a thought. thanks
Re: Desktop. In Australia, there is a curious fellow, who has a website dedicated to shoelaces. Type "shoelaces" into Google, he is at the top of the list. fieggen dot com One of the things he recommends is cleaning up the desktop by moving all the icons to folders created by the user in the start menu. I don't know how easy that would be to do with Apple computer, but once set up, it becomes very handy and very organized. The desktop becomes an uncluttered place for a beautiful pic.

Comfortable room and beautiful place. Like a good neighbor or friend.very kind feeling.thanks!
Please watch "Stag Trophy Making / the complete video".
I wish i lived in Japan, i live in Detroit Michigan
Cool video, the USA is trying to take our knives also. It must be hard to leave such great knives inside.

PS. Keep up the good work.
We have no chance to shoot a handgun in Japan. So Junichi must remember it now. Thanks.

I carried a Glock 21 at work for years here in America. That was one of my first jobs. They are amazing guns
Thank you for allowing us into your house. Cheers!
And not shooting us in the face. Absolutely!

I can't stop watching your videos! I'll definitely show this one to my wife tomorrow. These really are fascinating...thank you for sharing with us.

Messy work, knows where everything is - i get annoyed when people "tidy" my desk haha.
Your videos rock keep them coming.

i just subscribed to your channel and I am watching oldest to newest. do you have a video on how you mount your desk top antlers?
@IKIDDP5 It is very easy to get deers in Hokkaido, so I use a 12GA and a .410 slug guns. The kill range is 150 yards. The Japanese strict gun control law doesn't allow me to use rifles yet.

Good video. I was not sure about the cards? do you print the cards with your own photos and post them to people?
Like this video a lot. Did you move since this? very nice rug too.
Yep! Exactly "convex sharpening" search request brought me here.

What do you use for hunting deers in Hokaido?
on the SOG Flash 2, I glued my lock to the open position with super glue. I got tired of it closing on it's own and the knife being locked when I needed to open it quickly.
I really am not impressed with the quality of the knife.
what program was that weather thing on your computer?
So, full auto glock 20 rounds is ok as long as plastic ammo. But, no automatic knife.
@TheBladebuster Yes, I use what you say. We say it is the central heating system. Thank you!
FT2000 is the best! I have FT450 and VX6 too. Thanks.

@urkingod Hi, This gun is made of plastic and fires plastic balls, so called air soft gun here. However when being shot in close range it aches a lot.
