I haven't been here yet, but going to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour at Valley View Mall in the 70's reminds me of this. Huge mixing bowls of ice cream sundaes and 7-10 little kids dipping into it at once...
I was surprised the other day to see that they've got a location in Grapevine now. I'm a semi-regular up at their Wind River store -- a phosphate hits the spot after working in the yard -- with an occasional visit to the one in Carrollton, but nothing compares to sitting down to enjoy your treat at the one on the square.
I live in Texas but hours away from Denton. We measure distance in Texas by the hours of travel it takes to get anywhere. If I were closer to Denton, this would be a favorite stop for me, but vanilla please.
