I like the plowing videos , not boring at all make you anxious to get to planting, glad Sarah is ok with no serious train mishap! They need a bigger loop on that crossing to give you more time before the train is on top of you, especially at that speed!
We love the long videos. My husband and I went through 2 bags of popcorn on this one. You channel is awesome. Thanks for all your videos over the years.
Another really awesome video Andy. Sarah is such an awesome girl. All of your kids are awesome. I sure wouldn't ever want to see anything happen to Sarah or any of them. God, I love watching you all doing fieldwork. You got some mighty fine tractors and equipment. I hope you continue with these field work videos. I think it's so cool all your kids know how and what to do in the fields. One of your many fans William Sedlacek
One day I was sitting at RR crossing with my truck. I was pulling a 48’ flatbed that day and just finished off-loading. The lights and boards were down right in front of me. When the lights went out and the boards lifted, I made my way across. I kinda watched the train leave as I crossed. Suddenly, the bell and lights start flashing again!! The crossing boards came down on my trailer and danced their way down my flatbed! WTH is going on!! I just cleared the track and a train coming the other track zoomed by! Yeah, the ol’ heart was zinging as fast as that train was going! Look both ways on a double track.😳😎 Glad Sarah made it!
Your daughters are great Andy, find many broken things & your attentive repairs are excellent for them to keep on working, thank you for your videos, GOD BLESS.
Hi Andy ! Glad for Sarah this was a teaching lesson whit the train . never trust the train road light if you are at low speed .. if you get caught behind some thing on your on the track keep pushing full trottle because no chance whit a train . Thanks for let us ripping whit your team. Thank Andy for your time and have a good day !
Staggered how much farm and equipment related information you can retain in your head. I reckon you know every clump of earth and blade of grass by name. Thank you as ever for taking us along.
Sarah has a good head on her shoulders she had that handle. I'm glad to see the nine hundred is back on the farm. I'm glad to hear it wasn't anything extremely wrong. And alex looked lovely as always sporting the purple bandana. Andy to update my scorecard, who's Mike? I do not remember him in any of the previous videos. Thanks for sharing.
These videos give me a warm and fuzzy. God bless you, your family, and your efforts. I've never worked on a farm, lived on a farm, and if I had to depend on my skills in that area to survive, I well, wouldn't LOL. So, from all of us suburban and urban pantywaists, I thank God that there are honest hard-working folks like you; taking up the slack for the rest of us. I mean that in the most sincere way. .
BEEN WATCHING 4 A LONG TIME, AND JUST LIKE GRAND-PA, YOU ARE ALWAYS ABLE TO ADAPT TO MOST SITUATIONS. THAN IF YOU CAN'T YOU AT LEAST MAKE IT WORK, YOU FIND A WAY TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE PROBLEMS THAT ARISE !
5/11/24 2:35 am Thanks for the video You are probably up tending to your herd and preparing to get to the field today May the lord bless and protect your family today Thanks Randy Smith Boonville Mo
Face it, Andy: you are going to need a 4500+ size service truck before long. That kind of thing won't be cheap, but you won't be schlepping tools and parts from pickup to pickup. When you get over 110 gallons of fuel you start stepping in to DOT regulations, and that sucks. Great video, love seeing your family working together 👍 👍!👍😄👍
Those gates are made of fiberglass and break off pretty easy. If you ever get stuck on the tracks with the gates down on you, just give it the gas and GO. Might scratch you vehicle but it's a lot better than being hit by a train!
400gallons of fuel is about 1,781 litres and at roughly £0.80p per litre here in the UK that would cost roughly £1,424.00 or $1,790 approximately. Breakdowns add even more to the costs of farming that the anti farming brigade fail to understand. A close call with train, glad she made across because that would have been quite a disaster. Nice long video Andy, great to see field work beating the weather for a change!
Here in Norway it would cost US$ 2669,27 for the same amount of diesel. Farming is expensive and ppl really should stop complaining! Food doesn´t grow on a shelter in the store 😊
What happened to Sarah is a serious danger to tractors. When I was a kid, the neighbors son was killed by a train when crossing tracks with no signals. Just 5 years ago, a friend’s father was killed when his auger got hit by the train and turned over the tractor. Nothing to laugh at or make light of. The consequences are very, very high.
im glad Sarah made it throught the rail crossing by the look of it they give little to no warning very dangerous. Another great video Andy looks like you need to carry more tools with you ha.
I've barely noticed/remembered that crossing with the gates until I saw this clip. I guess you need an experience like Sarah's to make a lasting impression, but the house and trail rang the memory bell. The natural reaction when those lights flash and bells ring is to slow down and look for the danger that is coming at you, then "OH s***, guess I best get out of here!" Seems like your tractors put on more road miles than field miles sometimes. it must often take more planning to get to the field than it does to plan crop rotations with narrow, low clearances, .
Thanks for explaining why you did not plow with the contour on the hilly field. I wondered about that but figured you probably had a good reason.. turns out you did.... Thanks
I live up here in Michigan by Marquette Michigan and we’re coming into a winter storm for today and tonight and tomorrow Thursday and we’re supposed to get 14 inches of snow. I cannot believe you guys are working land like you are.
It was cold down here today. Didn't get to 60 here in Bristol today. Dad went to Pa. to look at a planter with a neighbor. I didn't get nothing done besides taking care of everything. After second milking got two loads of dump truck loads of dirt over a rock.
Summer of 83, Lunchtime. I hop in the farm truck and head to town, I'm driving down a loose gravel road playing with the radio. There's a railroad crossing with no lights or arms 20 feet in front of me, I hear the train horn I look up and the train is right there, I lock up the brakes and realize I'm not able to stop in time so I stomped on the gas, As I was crossing the tracks I looked at the train, the headlight was huge. I braced for impact but that old Dodge saved my life. Don't drive distracted.
The youtuber Ollyblogs Agricontracting in the UK has a crossing between fields which are relatively common here that you have to call on the phone there give the number crossing the operator then confirms it is safe to cross or not. A couple of years ago I believe he called they said it was safe to cross and he nearly got hit as they thought he was at a different crossing. He came up with a means to confirm it then spent over an hour trying to get the operator to actually follow the procedure.
Thx for yet another perfect video, Andy! Thumbs up to all of you for the hard work you do! That train signal should have started at least 1 minut before it did!
Omg Sarah... Holy cow.. I hope your okay.. that was to close for comfort.. Andy you have some hard working Girls there.. Just Glad Sarah is safe and sound..
Hi Andy, With all the equipment that you have, it might be worth investigating how much it would be to get a hydraulic swaging tool and die, great video, howled with laughter about the train near miss,
Your camera is so clear I can read Hoag Rd. (we have one here on the left side of NY) and even E Dead Creek Rd. Can't believe you work so far from home. So close to the NYS Fairgrounds!
It’s the responsibility of a motor vehicles driver to make sure it’s safe to cross rail lines, they don’t stop particularly quickly. Glad she wasn’t hurt.
I enjoy tillage videos more than about any other type of field work, especially ripping/disk ripping etc. I like the view looking back and from outside the cab where you can watch the implement work. Not boring to me at all.. Glad Sarah didn't get into a wreck with the train. That would not have ended well for your side of the equation.
Hey there Andy and Crew, I hope this finds you all well and good. Andy, I gotta tell you that I'm really concerned about the amount of traffic on your fields, and that includes your tillage traffic, which can easily exceed any potential benefits. Every piece of equipment in the field today, has an axle weight that is multiple times heavier than anything used 50 years ago, when we first heard about soil compaction, and hardpan, caused from decades of plowing at the same depth, turning and loosening the soil, without any idea about the long-term effects. If I could find the time, I would love to come up with a couple of students from Virginia Tech (to do the digging) and do a soil compaction analysis on one of your corn fields, to see exactly what kind of a growing environment you have prepared for your plants root system. On a Safety note, why do you always have your right hand, fender mounted, wide width, signal/caution light swung in, which is the opposite of where it should be when traveling on the road? Your Green tractors would not only look better with Green Tillage tools behind them, you wouldn't be spending all of your time working on them. The John Deere Company we know today, was born from the first self-cleaning steel plow nearly 200 years ago, and they still make quality, cutting-edge Tillage equipment today. I hope y'all have a good one my friend! "Nothing Runs Like A Deere" 🦌 👍 🇺🇲
Years ago in my area a farmer who had train tracks across the driveway, no lights, came down the driveway with a tractor and 2 gravity wagons loaded with corn. Didnt notice the train coming until the tractor was on the tracks. Started to back up and the train cut the front half of the tractor off at the cab. There he sat with his 4 year old girl in the cab watching the train go by inches ahead. Fortunately they weren't seriously injured.
Yes I told you we were going to get a snow storm up here in Michigan and we got one. We got 26 inches yesterday May 1. It started I guess stop today to May 2 it’ll kind of slow the farmers down around here.
You talked about combining on that steep side hill .I've told people that you haven't gone for a ride till you side sideways down a hill in a combine . Something you don't quickly forget .
Years ago I was help out our area and they brought in a fuel truck to fill gas or diesel vehicle up. With all the stuff you have I would look for a used fuel truck. The only problem is if you need DEF which can go bad on you.
Curious….can you over rip compacted areas, or does it just become a case of diminishing returns to hit it twice or three times? As always, really enjoy the videos. You have an awesome family!
Another good video Andy thanks for sharing. That crossing seems kinda sketchy lights and bars came down with a short time b4 the train came through. We farm some ground that has a couple private crossings no lights or bars got to be on your toes and listen because visibility is tough. Those blue barns at the farm you rent out is that on sheets? Looks kinda familiar.
Had a friend that was hit by a Norfolk Southern train… messed him up really bad. It was a problem with the crossing system. He sued and got 1/2 million.
Sarah was very lucky not to be hurt or worse, it's good that she's ok. Trains don't stop all that well. Noticed the fallow land near the road at the bottom of the hill, how come that isn't being ploughed and planted ?? 31:13 The length of the goods train's here are like 1.1 miles and go thru the middle of town at 50 miles/hour max.
I had my life flash before my eyes 100 times driving from field to field. I’m surprised I never took out anyone and especially trashcans and mailboxes.
I look forward to every video, Andy. Thanks for all you and your family do. God bless the American Farmer!
Glad Sarah is safe. My uncle, a police officer at the time, was hit by a train while chasing a perpetrator in the mid 60’s and was almost killed.
I like the plowing videos , not boring at all make you anxious to get to planting, glad Sarah is ok with no serious train mishap! They need a bigger loop on that crossing to give you more time before the train is on top of you, especially at that speed!
As a railfan, I would agree with you.
Most dads would loose there mind with that but you let them learn and handle there own situations nice job love seeing all of them out there with you
Lose. Not loose.
We love the long videos. My husband and I went through 2 bags of popcorn on this one. You channel is awesome. Thanks for all your videos over the years.

@George Been watching a year+. I may have mistaken his for Caz or the Tire company he uses. Most of the time I see him throw tools in a pickup.
Wow that was to close for comfort Sarah thank goodness you r ok good catch Mike God bless TerryD.
Wow!!!! As you said there needs to be a little more lead time notice. Glad it ended well!!!! Great videos as usual!!!!

Csx auto rack with brand new cars and trucks, thank you for the ride along with ya and I'll catch ya on the next one
I’m just glad Sarah didn’t get a heard of that whole damn thing with a train. You can replace farm equipment but you can’t replace people.
Im glad Sarah is ok must of been a scary moment for her, ground looks to be working up nicely enjoyed the video thanks andy.
Great video Andy Sarah was lucky your girls kick butt what great workers.

That train was hauling car transporters. Life must be good somewhere local.
Good days work by you and the girls.
Loved the xtra 20 mins.

Some of the first landoll chisels (70's) the box tubing frames were filled with iron ore.
So glad Sarah is ok great video as always
Poor Sarah! There really wasn't enough time between the lights & bars and when the train actually came through...
We're glad Sarah is ok!

That is why it is not allowed in Sweden. If you can't cross like normal people you have to hire a certified rail worker to shut down the rail...
Thx for yet another perfect video, Andy! Thumbs up to all of you for the hard work you do! That train signal should have started at least 1 minut before it did!

How many of the family are involved in the diary farm business? Love watching how you engage your children (for lack for a better turn) on the farm.

Have to put that trailer behind that new Ford after ya put another tank on there, It wont have any problem tugging that fuel trailer around. :-)

Hey Russ good seeing get some corn planted. You may qualify now to be a JD engineer 😂😂
It's not boring it shows work that needs to be done so the operation is successful
Awesome video Andy your girls do an excellent job 🍻
Omg thank goodness she wasn't hurt. I knew a man from Sheldon ND that unfortunately was killed when he was struck by a train in his tractor.
Good video I enjoyed it.glad the train didn't get Sarah. Will the 6030 pull the disk chisel.
