Ha Andy, thanks for the great video. Most of chopping in my area of iowa is done. We have a very large milk cow replacement calves feed lot. They chop corn stalks off fields to feed they calves.
Andy it looks like you wash and waxed them trailers 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I really don't know how someone would think you would have time to wash and wax all your equipment . You are up by 4 feeding the cows then your in the shop fixing thing that breaks your a very busy guy thank you for the videos you put out

You're an animal dude I think the majority of viewers probably don't realize what it takes to run that machine, get the corn in the truck, film it, make adjustments on the machine and keep an eye on everything around you all at once.
The superior material for O-Ring composition is Viton! If you are not using them made from that material, it would behove you to find a supplier from which you obtain your O-Rings to use across the board for all usage. When you get O-Rings from Deere, they very well may be Viton, but common O-rings found in general assortment boxes are very likely not Viton. Keep up the good work! JIM 🤩

I can never get enough of these chopping videos. I am constantly amazed at how much of a BEAST that chopper is. Growing up on a dairy farm in the 60's and chopping with a one row New Holland really makes me realize how far we have come.

It is pretty cool that the chopper has it's own winch for changing out that head. It would be a real pain trying to install that with a forklift or cherry picker.

That's one of the biggest Problems with the P B & KW Ultrashift Transmission's is the wiring Harnesses We has both the 13 speed and 18 speeds 2016 2017 and 2018 lucky all of ours were still under warranty ! Good to see your starting chop some corn . At least you had rain out your way tho . a lot of corn & hay out here in the albany area didn't get a lot of rain . So both the hay & corn crop did not do real well . In some places very poor 2 nd cutting of hay .
Just out of curiosity -- is there a common "bad spot(s)" in that harness and is there a reliable and quality aftermarket source for a replacement harness? I'm guessing that there's no core charge; I should DDG(Duck-Duck-Go) it, thanks for the info that sparked an idea in me noggin. 👍🏼
Andy has stated he would be in favor. Would you be willing to donate a $$ quarter million for a shop annex ? Just meeting the current equipment repair/maintenance expenses has resulted in significant hair loss. Shop expansion remains on the wish list .🇺🇸🗽🍶🐄

Andy the nuts come loose because they are for only one use. Every time you reuse a nut you loose 35% of the nuts grip force. Your Orings will last longer too.

You mentioning sugar beets made me think of beets in Michigan. You would think that they could do something with the leaves instead of just chopping them off with a brush hog
Just a thought Andy. It may be easier, and less work, to put higher pedestals on the 5th wheel to increase your clearance. Think you can get them in 25mm (1 inch) increments.
Hey Andy, have you considered a Timelapse back at the bunker, as it’s being filled? That’s one aspect of all this harvesting footage we never see on your channel. Something to consider for quality content. Or May have to teach Andrew or Charlotte to run the drone, as an after school project.

Hi Andy, great video as always. Have you considered switching out trucks on the outside rounds by having them drive side by side when the first one is full? Then you can swing the spout over to the empty truck and keep the chopper going. We started doing that and it saves time.

You should build yourself a universal hyd tank vac pump that can clamp around the fill neck and then pull vac on hyd system that let you pull a section as you ave done without oil leak
It's not that simple with equipment these days. There are check valves, solenoids, proportioning valves, integrated into these circuits now. In most cases pulling a vacuum on the hydraulic tank and then taking something apart you wouldn't even feel the vacuum because of all the other components in the circuit. About the only thing you can do with the vacuum trick is put a shop vac on a radiator so you can swap out a coolant temperature sensor or something super fast and you still get coolant all over your hands anyway lol
@@Adam_Poirier Vac pumps on the machine from new, pull from the return side not the feed side. You are correct you need to have a check valve in the circuit to keep from pulling oil With a vac pump it has been found that you can even remove the main pump suction line without the oil leaking. Agree a shop vac is not that good since the ability for the shop vac to draw at heavy mercury levels is not possible. You can use a good quality A/C vac JD vac pump part # is F061614
