    I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with this line. I already collect a bunch of different stuff and at $37 each it's a little steep especially to army build anything. If they were smart, they would have made the army builders cheaper.

    The line is being sold as the first line for Big Bad Workshop, BBTS is bankrolling Fresh Monkey to produce the line for them.
    Not technically an exclusive, more of a house brand.
    The second wave is slowly being released for preorder one figure at a time. Just wait for the Sasquatches as they should be up soon.

    I’m glad you went in depth. I want to try it out. The army builders kind of make me angry because the price range plus the first wave is about 7 figures. It’s a lot. I wish they would factor in the fact people collect other toy lines. I have nothing to say about the renders. They look great. I just want to wait to see what the figures will look like in hand.

      Yeah I’m waiting as well. At least until a few reviews come in. But they’ve done this pattern with other lines so I guess that’s just how they roll.

    Yeah this is dancing into that Gothic Horror with a modern twist. The Eraser is The Invisible Man for those that missed it. The Donner Party is the Frankenstein. Although his backstory seems interesting. They are both on the Monster Fighters team. The biggest problem with this line is they already have 18 items up for pre-order for late next year. 16 Figures and 2 accessory packs. Half the figures are Army Builders. I like the style, but at $36/per I'm not going to be doing much Army building. It did grab pre-orders for a couple of the named main characters. Except Drac, because he looks lame. They should have split this up more among a few waves. The presented renders of the sculpts look excellent. Here's hoping they deliver. As for why BBTS exclusive, if you note these are made by Fresh Monkey Fiction AND BigBadWorkshop. Which is BBTS's in house figure line. I think last years rather intriguing Santa's were from them.

      The price is steep. I know they do put up multiple waves before product hits. It’s kind of their thing. So it doesn’t worry me too much to see that. But yeah less army build but I rarely army build in that scale anyway.

    I'm in for a chunk of the 4" figures, because I'm a HUGE fan of the Red Shadows. I only ever had a single figure of the trooper as a kid, so getting these smaller Monster Force figures with the extra parts to make modern Red Shadows is a massive nostalgia hit for me. Plus they're going to look amazing with the Roboskull Mk II. As for the larger figures, the price point is a bit heavy, but I dig the dieselpunk style of the bad guys, so will at least be picking up the various Sleepwalkers, The Donner Party, and Dr Caligari, as they have the sort of alt-WW2 aesthetic I really dig.

    I've been all in on Fresh Monkeys 4 inch Eagle Force line from the start, So when I saw they where doing these I was at first sight. I like the world there creating. i got to talk to them at Joefest its something a little different. The repaints and reuse doesnt really bother me they all that much, they look unique enough at first glance. Its not like repaints and reuse are a new thing, hasbro been doing it for years. In my head canon Monster force will end up being another sub team on my Joe self right next to Action Force.

    • @robertsinfiniterealms1308
      @robertsinfiniterealms1308  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yeah but if I’m going to complain about Hasbro over doing repaints I can’t just ignore it elsewhere. Plus I am a bit tired of the “it’s nothing new” defense. It’s entirely possible to not over use repaints in a line as it’s been done before.

    We dont need 10 sets of hands with figures. It would reduce cost if they laid off all the hands. Most people will have them on display with their weapons!

      me and my husband collect Valaverse and the one grip i have on Valaverse is the female characters do look a little unfeminine. Hasbro makes wonderful female gi joe characters but as a Japanese woman i don’t like the stereotype that we are always portrayed as Kunoichi. I kitbashed Snake eyes movie figure Akiko.
      I took her head placed it on movie scarlet and made her look more like a JGSDF special forces armed with
      a Type-89. I like an air of realism on my figures especially female figures.

    Dude, not trying to be a dick, but you undercounted the hands on every figure. You missed that they are all shown with hands on, so you were 1 under on every quote. Not a huge deal, but it's there.
    I get some of the complaints on reuse, but some of that makes sense to me. Like for my wave one pre-order, i did two of the Delta Red Urban trooper and one Nocturnal and i recognize that they're the same build, but the color swap let's me build a squad. I can easily see folks picking and choosing, i mean, we're all working on a budget, but the repaints seem smart to me to pick a faction, and then dip into alternate colorways for squad leaders or that kind of thing. I imagine repaints are the drizzling shits for completists, but that's not me, so they don't bother me. I can skip any figure that doesn't sing to me.
    Final note, it does bug me how many "waves" of product they have up now, given that they haven't released any figures yet. I'm not buying anything past wave one, no matter how much i enjoy the designs, until i have product in hand to know that they're worth the money.

    • @robertsinfiniterealms1308
      @robertsinfiniterealms1308  Před 10 měsíci

      “Dude not trying to be a dick.” Translation, “I’m about to be a dick.” So I was one under on every quote. And? If not a huge deal why go there.
      Actually, I said it would’ve been smarter to spread out the repaints rather than whole waves of repaints. You know like Hasbro sometimes does it, we didn’t get all the bat Variations in one wave, right.

    • @kiltedcripple
      @kiltedcripple Před 10 měsíci

      @@robertsinfiniterealms1308 Hasbro can afford to do that. The tooling is expensive but they can amortize that cost out over waves. A smaller company has to hit those molds hard to recoup costs so that they invest in more tooling.
      As for my dickishness, yes, being off by one set of hands is not a huge deal. But it is inaccurate, and you did it repeatedly. I mentioned it because it was worth mentioning, but I was trying to be diplomatic about correcting you.

    • @robertsinfiniterealms1308
      @robertsinfiniterealms1308  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@kiltedcripple Then perhapes get a bit more creative than straight up repaints like swapping some parts here and there. Action Force and AWOK have done such with a great deal of success. The problem with the repaints isn't the repaints themselves, it's the fact it's just the same figures with different base coats. If we are going to call out Hasbor on lazy repaints, we gotta call out smaller companies too, Right?
      It's not a big deal, it's a big deal, eh whatever.

      Whoa. Drama over nothing. Hope you both have been well and doing great. I like this line. I also agree that we didn’t need wave after wave. Start at wave one and two. See how it goes then work from there. They must be pretty confident. I would have loved to army build but not at those prices.

      @@robertsinfiniterealms1308i don’t think it’s fair to call out smaller companies for repaints when hasbro is a multi billion dollar company and they are getting outdone by companies who don’t have near the reputation as hasbro. and with the amount of accessories these are waaaay more worth it for the price than marvel legends
