Had an amazing birth experience 3 days ago. Big thanks you Bridget. I had an amazing vaginal birth in a 11 hour labour that brought my first born son into the world. Balled my eyes out as soon as he was on me and for 2 hours straight. Full of love and for him and my husband, although a bit sleep deprived.

i'm having my first baby currently 8 months pregnant and having a low risk pregnancy, planning to have my baby with my midwives at the birth center. i was seeing a doctor at the same time as well until recently and i finally decided not to see him anymore. ever since the first appointment he had talked about how he induces all of his patients at 39 weeks and how he doesn't let anyone go past 39 and he didn't even give me a choice in that he just said that's how he does things and that didn't sit right with me from the beginning along with a few other things. i'm very glad and proud of myself for not seeing him anymore because i know it will give me a much higher chance of having the positive natural birth experience i want to have. i have been watching your videos since the beginning of my pregnancy and i feel like i have learned so much and gained confidence and i don't feel very fearful about giving birth and more empowered and exited. i have also been thinking about becoming a doula myself because i have become very passionate about pregnancy and birth and all the things you can do to make the process easier and positive.

Good for you! There's absolutely no reason for an induction for everyone that early. I've had 8 natural hospital births, the thing that's really helped with each of those is that I have a doctor that I trust. I know she will take care of any issues if they come up, but I also know she supports me 100% in having the natural labor I want. She even let me go 15 days late with one of mine. Was scheduled for induction that morning, but baby came on her own beforehand. One induction by having my waters broke at 10 days late with another ( happened to be my best labor of all my babies)

I am an indian and where i live, no private hospitals do normal delivery. Only the government hospitals do, but they have bed, room and staff shortage. Sometimes two three patients kept in one bed, 15-20 mamas screaming in one room... It's going to be very much difficult for me to go through this... Pray for me
But i have been practicing yoga, concentration and have planned to head to hospital only when necessary.

Hi! I’m 40 years old and expecting my 4th child. Currently almost 38 weeks, and I can only tell how frustrated I am being offered often to be induced at 39 weeks because of my age, risks of stillbirth and because of the baby size. My last baby weighed 9lbs and I delivered him last year, all my births were at the hospital. I appreciate your channel and all the support you give to women. I pray my body will go into labor without any induction and that I can deliver a healthy baby! 🙏🏻

Hi, my 4th baby is 3 weeks old. I was in the same boat as you ... Been advised that I should be induced because of my age. Although I did not agree since it was an easy pregnancy. Like never before, my water broke at 39 w and 2 days. I went in but no contractions so I went home. The next day I went back in ( after 14 hrs) and still nothing...after 5 more hrs in hospital we decided to get Pitocin. I was afraid of it since I did not want complication or end up in c section if the baby's heart would be stressed. But thank God being on Pitocin on lowest dose started my contractions and in 1 hr after given, then had my intense contractions for 2hr and half and then baby came. Listen to your body ..rode the waves that each one takes you closer to have your baby ...it's the most amazing, empowering feeling that could exist on this earth.

Dear Bridget, thank you for your encouraging videos and classes. I would like to add one note. I am still preparing mentally for pregnancy. I bought a book on Maternal anxiety and started reading it, went to a psychologist, plan to do a hypnobirthing class… But yesterday I had a talk with another psychologist, specialised in the subconsciousness. She performed a test and established I feel in prison. The idea of becoming a mother makes me feel imprisoned because of my parents’ role models. But she thinks I am just looking for excuses and procrastinating, and not really afraid of the challenge itself. So according to her words, within 1 months mental practices she believes I will make up my own mind. I hope this helps if someone feels the same as me. Still I am sure I want to have a lovely child one day, not far from now, and can’t wait to do your course!

I never understand why other women shame us for going unmedicated. My midwife told me that they literally put fentanyl in epidurals now. That goes right to the baby, and will cause the baby to be lethargic and unable to latch on right away. Tell them that story next time you mention it to someone. lol and remember you don’t owe an explanation to anyone! Have a safe and healthy pregnancy and labor.❤❤

Would you consider it rigid to plan to not have a c-section? My main objective with my first was just no c-section because I’m terrified of them and this pregnancy I’m aiming to go all natural, but both times, my biggest no is a c-section. I’d do anything to not have a c-section. All my meditation is positive, my mantras are focused on a good and calming experience, and I’m planning for multiple options while focusing on my body letting it do what it is meant to do. I only watch positive vaginal births, while also being aware of how a c-section works but I just can’t let go of not wanting a c-section given my fears.
