I know that people slag off Citroen and say they are not very good. Even in this video I notice you said this wasn’t Citroen’s finest, but I must say that this car is one quirky, innovative car for its time. Very far ahead in terms of technology and design. I have the Coupe version and I still think it’s 100 times better looking inside and out than any VW Golf equivalent. I absolutely love my Citroen C4 and it’s a great car. Some bit do feel a bit cheap, but the overall car makes up for that. Great video! Thank you for posting, I enjoyed watching it ;)

I agree, for the money you’ve a very nice driving car, but the quality could be better, especially the interior was cheap on these C4,. I would never buy a Volkswagen product, maybe the old Beetle.....

I changed my c4 and went back to vw diesel. Maybe I was unlucky but I had one with problem after problem, even on a diesel. Electronic sensors, alternator apparently too near exhaust system kept causing no starts, water pipe leak needing virtually whole engine to come out. Back to vw workhorse for me.

I had this car for almost 8 years. It was nice, roomy-ish, but the faults started piling up and I had to fix it every year. Replacing wear parts every year that you shouldn't have to replace every year. The wheel alignment went off in less than a year and engine leaks oil and I had the robotic manual gearbox and getting moving was sometimes jerky as hell. It never left me stranded (except for one time in my home city when the alternator belt snapped and unplugged the engine management cable with it). It was pretty good for my first car. But it had its faults from the day we bought it.

I noticed the engine is not in very good shape, I'm not sure it's the original one even. How many engine pieces did you have to fix? I'm asking because I'd like to buy a C4 too, so I'm wondering what it takes to get it to almost 300k km like yours.

None, only the waste gate was stuck, only took some WD40

@@carscloseup Nice, it sounds good too. Thanks for the info.

@@zemunac011 On the front of the engine the turbo is placed, on the turbo housing outlet, there’s a vacuum diaphragm, with a rod that activates the waste gate, pure mechanical, no electronics. This one was stuck on mine and I loosened it up with some WD40. If this valve is stuck, the car will set a overboost code and the check engine light will come on….
