- Here we go again with another group that will occupy my mind for the next couple of months! PIXY is absolutely amazing! although their style is very different from what I usually listen to it is very very nice change of pace and I really appreciate that they do not shy away from complex choreo!
I have had so much fun exploring new groups and it's all thanks to you guys.

Here some information about Pixy in case your interested haha:
1. Karma is actually a mashup track of their bsides “Hide&Seek” and “Flip a Coin”
2. the members Line up changed last year. Pixy started off as a six member girl group. Ella (leader, main vocalist 8:14 ) took a hiatus during villain era but left the group together with satbyeol (lead rapper 16:06 ) in august if last year. And in October they added Rinji (Main dancer, sub vocal and maknae 20:25). But she was always meant to be in the group. Allart didn’t want to let her debut this early so they made her a helper Charakter in the storyline so she could join later. But since the two members left they had to rush it a little. But she is settled now and shining with her talents.
3. Their storyline is about six wingless fairy’s and the order of the comebacks including storyline is
1. Fairy forest Chapter 1: Whit my wings/ MV: Wings
2. Fairy forest Chapter 2: Bravery/ MV: Let Me know
3. Fairy forest Chapter 3: Temptation/ MVs: Addicted, Bewitched, Moonlight, still with me
4. The dar city episode 1: Reborn7 MV Villain
5. Chosen Karma/ MV: Karma
The Fairy forest Chapters all have worldviews and the Villain worldview might be the moonlight mv.

Honestly despite changes in members it very hard to notice people are missing or added! They look complete I’m very interested in them
Pixy is amazing. After Ella left they had to change it up because her high register was so prominent in the songs. I was shocked when she left. I'm glad they working through it.

As someone in my mid 30’s PIXY has really tapped into something unique (and not just in terms of being niche within the K-pop industry or because of their dark concept). A lot of their music has a lasting power and taps into musical ideas that were really meaningful to me as I was growing up…
I feel like they somehow channel these late 70’s early 80’s western pop influences like Michael Jackson, The Ohio Players, Yello, New Order, but also take something texturally from artists like Steve Reich and The Field who have heavy rhythmic dominated songs that force you to really sit for long duration of time in a carefully crafted space.
I love the fact that PIXY’s music consistently sounds like them, while still exploring new genres and influences. Their albums and the individual songs feel really cohesive while maintaining the fun switches and unconventional structuring that makes it Kpop. I also really love how their tours feel like they’re running the underground circuit. Small venues, with crazy fans, fun (sometimes corny) presentations, and the girls who are super chill and light hearted even though their music and dancing is so fierce.
It’s why they are my favorite K-pop group. 🦋💫
Their versatility seems very nice from what I’ve seen so far. I hope to see more in the future
Their choreos are insane you can do a part two for their dance practices you wont be disappointed! also you can add the moon dance performance because that choreo is insane!!

Love Pixy so much! Honestly they are queens of b-sides as well. They are one of 2 groups that I listen to at least 90% of their discography all of the time. They are so impressive!
So far I can tell that they’ll get far especially with the tour they have going on!
They promoted with the Korean version of Bewitched - sort of a b-side/second title track with Addicted - but the only MV is for the English version, so no worries, you got it right!
Dreamcatcher definitely paved the way for a group like Pixy, who do dark in their own way with their own sound, but there's still not a huge market for that in Korea and being the first group from a brand new small company, Pixy don't get the attention they deserve. They're still fighting though despite debuting during the pandemic (ugh), losing two members (Ella and Satbyeol) due to health and personal reasons, and adding a new one (Rinji) to a tour before she even got to debut.
They will go big because you can’t expect change if no one starts. That’s why I really appreciate groups who do not follow the set up concept for “success”
1000% recommend checking out their debut “wings” it’s amazing! And I’m seeing pixy in 1 month in concert😭 I’m so excited ‼️

I took my daughter (13) w me to see Pixy on their Karma Is A B Tour 😂 in the US (also their first US tour) and they did the choreo the same way. They put on an awesome show for like maybe couple hundred of us that showed up. We got the chance to meet and take selfies with them too, very nice girls.
If you like their choreo you should check out Craxy. They have that same hard hitting choreo.

Some thoughts on the most recent comeback, Karma:
Karma is an impressively seamless mashup of 2 other songs on the mini album, Hide & Seek and Flip a Coin. It takes it's verses and outro from Hide & Seek, and the chorus and bridge from Flip a Coin. Not only does Karma work as a flawless mashup, all 3 songs sound amazing as standalones... AND when you listen to all 3 songs on the album back to back it kind of feels like one long song (which is amazing for those of us who are always complaining about songs being too short)! H&S/Karma has the members names hidden in the verses, there are callbacks to lyrics in previous songs, and all of the songs make references to the lore.
So glad that you really enjoyed your first foray into PIXY's music! Thanks for checking them out!

PIXY has such a distinct sound! They really stand out from other groups imo. If you have an interest in "dark" sounds then I would love to suggest you check out POISON ROSE by a girl group named CRAXY. It gives gothic/vampire vibes and the song is an underrated bop!

They are so amazing and talented but underrated too. I just saw them preform last Tuesday in Denver and it was amazing seeing them and meeting them. They still have some dates left on their US Tour if you might be close to one of the venues.
