Waiting for you to blow up like K0T4Q did. You, him, Clique and Krispy have been my favorite rebuild channels for a few years now. Loving the new content just wish you did more historical rebuilds especially with eras mode being a thing. Keep up the outstanding work Matt. I think I might want to start making videos of my own soon.
Bane has been the bright spot for the team but I think they are realizing they should have traded some of their young guys away last season and tried to get another player to add to the main 3 of Ja, Bane, and JJJ. Also losing the only true center on their roster definitely has hurt them. I think they can still make the playoffs once Ja gets back but they need to trade for a solid center. Smart has regressed way more than what they thought as well.
Great vid as always my guy! Please try your next grizzly rebuild with a James wiseman trade. Maybe ziaire konchar and a pick? Having wiseman come back home to Memphis and play ball like he wanted to do in college would be pretty damn cool. Who knows he may even get his mojo back being back home
MEM apparently did offer 3 1sts for OG last year. P sure they called about him as early as last draft, and were still trying to get him between then and the deadline. Idk what 1sts obviously and that makes a ton of difference. If it was matching salary (prolly Dillon Brooks expiring, which surely had some value but likely not a ton) one other small contract + GSW 1st, their soonest pick, and then one super far out unprotected 1st as thatâd have the most value Iâm sure (maybe â28 or â29 unprotected) thatâs not an amazing package of picks. Especially if it was around the draft, it mightâve been P19 or P22 (forgot which was theirs originally) then the GSW 1st and one far out one. Itâs still a decent offer for a guy with 2y left on his deal (22-23/23-24âŠPO in 24-25 but obv declining that) especially bc youâre not gonna be able to extend him until he hits FA. So youâd need to get a wink wink from his agent that heâd be open to re-signing there, and how much itâd prolly be. Even with the new rule where you can do 140% extensions, itâs still not enough for him and e1 knew that. Like the max TOR couldâve offered him this summer was 4/116.9M, but he of course turned that down. So they better have a plan in place and know they can re sign him, heâs young enough to where they can still build with him and ScottieâŠbut Siakam needs to go. And if they were shocked by OG turning down the 4/117, they should be moving him by the deadline unless theyâre willing to give him the BAG. I went on a tangent after this so you can stop reading here if you want đ€Ł I do wonder wtf TOR is doing. Scottie is balling, but Siakam and Barnes arenât a great fit together, especially when you have Poeltl and you lose FVV. GTJr opted in to his PO and ppl expected an extension, but it never happened. Siakam was in trade rumors all off season, especially w ATL, and nothing has happened. They also havenât offered Siakam an extension at all this summer. With how Scottie is playing, heâs gonna get the 25% max next season (would kick in 25-26) so this team would get insanely expensive if they keep Siakam Scottie and OG plus Poeltl, which doesnât even count guys like Achiuwa, Boucher, Flynn, GTJr, Schroder, etc. OG isnât turning down 4/116.9 to try and get 4/120. If heâs turning that down, he clearly is v confident he can get a way bigger deal. I doubt heâd get the max (30%) but even 25% of the cap is a LOT of money. With the projected cap for 24-25, 25% would be $35.5M year 1, with 8% raises thatâs basically 4/160. And thatâs the 25% max based on the lowball NBA cap proj of 142M, a roughly 4.4% raise. Heâs eligible for the 30% which is $42.6M Y1. Siakam is making 37 or so this year, still no extension for him. There were all those rumors w him going to ATL, or maybe even SAC, but nothing happened. Maybe it still does, idk, but if they keep him heâs gonna want at least like 3/120 especially if he has another All-Star season, All-NBA, or close. Then Scottie 25% max in 25-26 would be around $39M depending on the cap. So if they pay those 3 plus Poeltl is on the books (& Gradey) youâre talking around $145M or more with just Siakam, OG, Scottie, Poeltl and Gradey. That assumes they let GTJr walk or move him etc. Thatâs CRAZY expensive for a team thatâs not contending or rly even close, especially considering Siakamâs age. Thatâs maybe $11M under the salary cap in 25-26 with 5 guys. Theyâre not contending with those 5, even if Scottie continues on this trajectory. So ya I have absolutely zero clue what TOR is doing tbh. I thought the Poeltl trade was insane, giving up such a lightly protected 1st for a C on an expiring deal you knew youâd have to pay at least 18/y. They let FVV walk for nothing when they couldâve gotten a 1st for him at the deadline, fell back, and gotten a T10 pick. They did the opposite and moved a pick to try and chase the 8 seed.
Looking forward to seeing how you handled this, everytime I watch your videos you always rebuild a bit differently than me (I rebuilt almost every team in the league)
I know youâre just joking but Iâd be real surprised if he played game 26. Heâs gotta get back in to game shape. Maybe he plays like game 27 or 28, and with a minutes limit to start? Like 18-20 mins G1, 25 mins, 30, then by the 3rd or 4th game he plays they take the limit off? Itâs really just a massive blow to lose Adams for the season. Heâs such a big part of the team and they donât have a replacement. Aldama is good but heâs not a big C. Now the Smart injury, itâs pretty bad. If theyâre like 10-17 by the time heâs back (2-9 now, thatâd be 8-8âŠthatâs prolly one of the best case scenarios) and they click when Ja gets back in the lineupâŠif they can go 15-10 and be around .500 near the deadline thatâs not too bad. They still have 30-35 games to try and make sure theyâre a T6 seed. But if theyâre horrible for the rest of these next 16, 17 games or w/eâŠidk. Imagine theyâre 7-10 thatâd be 9-19. To be .500 by the 50g mark theyâd need to go 16-6. I think if youâre Memphis you just play it out and focus on internal improvement, getting guys like Z more reps and stuffâŠthen when Ja comes back making sure that heâs able to gel, focus on bball, and continue to improve. Unless something insane happens, I think making some big trade at the deadline would be a bad idea. If they can reintegrate Ja, have him mesh with Smart, Bane continues to take a leap, and hopefully some of the younger guys do as well, thatâd be my priority. Bc I just donât think contending is rly realistic this year. If they can mesh tho and Ja shows his head is in the right place and heâs balling, and they can properly evaluate Smart going in to the offseason, then they can decide on making a big move in the offseason or what their plan is. Just my opinion. Maybe they tread water enough to where they can be really good when Ja gets back and end up as a T6 seed and make a run. Hopefully thatâs the caseâŠbut I think youâre kinda already playing for other things. Making sure Ja is good is #1. And itâs not like theyâre a contender without Adams, Clarke, etc. without making some big move. GL

Love the sliders. Trade negation at 50 is way too unrealistic

It will be interesting to see if the grizzlies get a âstarâ in the trade marketâŠ
Great vids man!đđ»
Brandon Clarke is out for the season just so you know. Him playing didnât affect the rebuild at all though lol
Love the videos please keep them going sros đđŸ
They could still have a potential top 9 lottery pick when when he comes back because he won't play every gm and they won't win every gm
I was waiting for this one. W video as always
Hey can you do a realistic wizards rebuild? I really have no idea which direction we should take at that point
