Assalamu’alaykum...I’m listener from Indonesia , this episode SubhanAllah answer a questions of mine that I looked for it in a long long time...SubhanAllah I found it here. It’s how we combine the fear and hope that Allah mention in the Quran regarding our attitude towards dua’.....I hope Syaikh Tim Humble or Syaikh Abdurrahman Hassan can have a specific lecture about this ayah, cause sometimes it’s confused me how to combine that two attitude “fear and hope” since both of it are contradictive

Etiquettes of Dua
1. Be certain and think good of Allah while making Dua
2. The Heart has to be present and connected while making Dua
3. Make Dua in the speial time when the chances of Dua being accepted is higher. But Dua can be said and accepted any time.
4. Be humble, submissive and needy while making Dua.
5. Facing the Qibla. It's recomended (Not essential)
6. Staying in the state of Wudu. (Not essential)
7. Raising the Hands
8. Praising Allah while making Dua
9. The Dua should proceed with tawba and istigfar.
10. To beg or plead to Allah. Allah loves when His servants beg.
11. Mixing hope and fear while making Dua.
12. Coming near to Allah with His names and attributes.
13. Making sadaqa before making Dua. Recommended. (Not essential)
14. Using the comprehensive Dua that the Prophet used to say.
