If you go there again, I recommend you to pay more attention to the art on the wall, doors and windows inside of the reclining Buddha temple.

You know! The Royal palace compound was contructed around 15 years after the massive lost of the previous glorious capital "Ayuttaya" where had been residences for a million citizens. Most of population in Ayuttaya were killed or taken to be hostages in Myanmar.
So the Royal Palace and Wat Pho were built by those survival engineers and architects. Surely, not the best ones since most of them died during the cruel war.
So I can't imagin how much more beautiful this place would be if those skillful engineers and architects still were there. 😘😄👍

I really enjoy all of your videos. A friend visited Bangkok a few years ago and said there was a lot of poverty. Was that obvious to you or maybe she was just in a poor area of the city. Loved the palace and reclining Buddha in today’s video!

After Ayuthaya was destroyed in 1767. We had another capital city called Thon Buri capital city.
It takes 2 years, NOT 2 months, to build this temple.
And the reason that we take shoes off isn’t to respect the Buddha but it’s Thai culture to take shoes off when you get into a house or a building. So, if you visit my house, you have to take shoes off too 😊
It’s long story to tell you why we have shoes off culture.
The Emerald Buddha is only 48.3 cm. height
And changing the guard isn’t allowed to video but a military can’t stop tourists. Some day I saw they have one person walking beside and keep telling NO PHOTO, NO VIDEO. Sorry to tell you but in case, another tourists read this, it’ll be useful.

The Reclining Buddha (at Wat Pho) where you mentioned isn’t the Biggest one in Thailand. It’s 3rd from the biggest one.

However, as I mentioned I really like your clip as you’re much more informative than other vloggers who just show a beautiful photography and some little info.

Yes we think we heard quite a bit of Chinese being spoken there as well 😊 indeed it's crowded but there were still some beautiful parts where there were most no other people 😍
Wow those ticket prices for the palace and temple are at costs comparable to (even more expensive in some cases) various palaces and castles in the EU ...
They are not cheap. But fortunately they are well worth it 😉
