Lucas is a literal masterpiece in every video. The background and context is so deep and thoughtful. Please keep the Lucas videos coming!
stop lying, it was ok at best
Facts
I appreciate how this video has no music...just the host and the natural sounds that surround him, keeping the content focused and realistic, drawing me in.
Lucas is beyond national treasure level. The way he surgically breaks down the cooking techniques, flavor profiles and texture complexities is just mind blowing. His simple way of describing things makes people who aren't professional chefs to be able to understand and as well as feeling not too afraid to try new food and cooking techniques.
He's just some guy.
We are all just some guy at the end of the day. @@escapist83
@escapist83 so is, every other guy?
@@felixliang7558 The sheer hyperbole of this bugged me.
To listen to Lucas describing food with love, respect and lusciousness is what I love about him. I always look forward to seeing his videos.
quite a refreshing change beyond Gordon Ramsay
Lucas could probably be the only person who'd do justice with oyster omelette commentary
Great find, Bon Appetit -- Lucas is one of the most well-informed and enthusiastic hosts and chefs I've seen on a food show. He's the foodie friend who is also secretly an academic. Makes you want to try out everything he's cooking and eating. More of this series pls!
Lucas is probably the best traveling chef since Anthony Bourdain. Keep this guy on the road.
Lucas appears to be relatively young, and yet his has such a wealth of knowledge about Chinese (Asian)cuisine! His narrative is so concise, and yet, he is speaking impromptu. He a delight to watch and listen too!😊👍
MORE LUCAS
SEND HIM AROUND THE WORLD FFS
I LOVE how lo-fi some of Lucas' videos are! It feels just like having a friend bring me to their favorite spot :)
I grew up in Chaoshan , and the oyster omelette I grew up eating was usually topped up with some chopped coriander, and you can dip the omelette into a sauce made by simply mixing some fish sauce and white pepper. It gives a bit more kick and umami to the oyster !
Nobody asked.
Pretty similar to Oyster omelette in other region os of SEA, I live in Singaporean and had a 70 80 percent similar version.
respect when someone shares their culture and memory@@alexn4255 you are being very childish here for no reason
@@alexn4255no one asked you, edgelord
Sounds delicious!
This is so very perfect. I really enjoyed your description and commentary. Oh so tasty!
This guy needs his own dedicated show.
Didn't expect to see Bon Appétit's vid in my country. And yes I highly recommend "Nai Mong Hoi Thod" is one of the best oyster omelet in Thailand if you have a chance to go to Bangkok don't miss this!
gotta love every Bon Appetit videos with Lucas in it
I've never clicked on a video faster, especially whenever I see Chef Lucas Sin's name.
I'm so happy to be getting more Lucas content. He's such a passionate and knowledgeable teacher. I've made or gone out and sought at a restaurant most things he's cooked/eaten. He's just so enthusiastic about the food I get massive curiousity and FOMO to eat it myself! 🤩
As a Thai living in Bangkok, i recommend this shop too. Their oyster omelette is one of the best.
The way he articulate the food 🫡 thank you.
Such an awesome video. I really appreciate how Lucas explores the technique, complexity, and beauty of the dish with genuine respect and a complete lack of pretentiousness. It feels like grabbing dinner with a friend at one of his favorite spots.
MORE LUCAS! Best food host in the game these days.
Lucas needs his own YT channel.
Lucas giving live play-by-play like a pro. Giving sense to the technique!
Lucas is fantastic, more videos with him please! This series has been deeply fascinating.
Videos with Lucas have been some of the best videos I have seen in years, well explained videos with his passion is very hard to beat.
I love how Lucas explains the simplicity of a dish via technique, historical context and why they are so perfect as is! 😋
Lucas. You are making an amazing series. I love the pace, the quality of the descriptions/tastings/personal views and historical/side information. Thanks for making this.
I like the explanation of the science behind the cooking technique. Interesing to hear about the two types of styles of oyster omelette - always thought the crispy style was the only one.
I had my first trip to BKK earlier this year, and it was food heaven. Super happy I got to come here and to Jay Fai among many other prominent and decorated food stops, and these videos are making me crave all over again lol. Lucas does a great job of not only explaining the food, but also loving and deeply appreciating every step.
Bring more Lucas!
His enthusiasm combined with deep knowledge and humble explanation hit my sweet spot!
Lucas is the only person with that fit on and no one will question him. Legend.
Can't believe I've found a way back to watching BA videos this is amazing..
the way that Lucas doing a food review more like a f1 commentary, “look at that”
Choice of Lucas was divinely inspired, Bon Apetit!!
The guy is so enthusiast making this video even more interesting. He can talk about deep frying a french fries and it’ll be interesting nonetheless 😅✌️
The most delightful, knowledgeable, passionate and eloquent chef ever. You're so precious to me my king thank you for another video!!
textural contrast vs. textural compliment. love it lucas!
Lucas can turn anything sounds delicious.
I'm 3rd gen Teochew in Thailand. This menu has special place in my mind. Really love this menu since I was young.
definitely my favorite oyster omelet. a clear level above the rest. legendary.
That red-orange sauce is actually the real "Sriracha sauce" or Thai's chilli sauce similar to it, not like the one selling in the west.
I absolutely love the way they do crispy eggs in Thailand
Love Lucas and his passion for textual delights
i love the filming style of these episodes
I need more Lucas and Canto cuisine videos ❤
omg i love your channel, the food looks amazing
Bon Appetit and Food52 are battling for Lucas
As a Thai, I like soft version, It's so smooth that you feel like you're drinking oyster!
I’ve never seen videos with Lucas- but more please!
Lucas can talk about paint drying and I'll watch it
I could listen to you all day, chef Lucas!
Simplicity and consistence are the best seasoning of any successful recipe 😉
Besides the fact that Lucas' food commentary and knowledge is on another level, I love how deeply he respects the chef and his craft of a deceptively simple dish.
Bangkok's street omelet looks delicious, I want to try it 👍
Excellent running commentary, grips the attention and taunts the taste buds! Bravo!!
"perfectly inconsistent", that's the best synonym of randomly cooked.
Lucas is my spirit animal
Dude, my mouth is literally watering. I want that so bad 😢
One of my favourites. Always get this in Penang, Malaysia ❤❤❤
When I see Lucas in the video I click automatically, only person I would actually click so fast for
Yumm... Such a delight to watch you explain why it's so delicious. This spot is my next go to for vacation
That outfit is hilarious lmao
LUCAS IS THE GOAT.
YES! More Lucas!!!
I'm feeling hungry just watching this n the host's commentary is details n wonderfully done....❤,🙏👍
I've never been so ready to see someone take a bite as I was half way into this
Oh my goodness both dishes look so delicious & I don't even eat oysters... I think I'd make an exception for those dishes.
love your vids Lucas
Like one commenter said, I saw Lucas and I just clicked. Love this guy! ❤ ich bin ein Fan!
Huge fan of this dish, especially the crispy version!!
This shop is very popular.
The fried oyster is really delicious.
Mate you are a food geek in the best way possible
There are plenty of street food vendors around South East Asia that cook with two wok spatulas - I've seen this technique used with multiple dishes - Oyster Eggs (prevalent also in Malaysia and Singapore). Fried Koay Teow and Fried Radish cake.
amazingggggggggg, thanks!!!!!!!!! it's on my list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see Lucas, I click! :)
We need more Lucas
I love Lucas fr
I agree. Slightly cooked oysters are super yummy if you’ve ever tasted The French Laundry’s “Oyster and Pearls”.
Lucas is able to put into words what Mark Weins feels when he eats something delicious.
Went there in March, the crispy oyster omelette is goated
I'm following you, I'm glad to see you come to my Thailand, very welcome. 😊
My MUST Eat dish in Bangkok ❤😋
Lucas doing so well again
Im here for Lucas. Period.
The equipment would make such a huge difference here. He's got a wok burner flaming a cast iron plancha, which would typically be used for paella. Can't rock like that in an apartment kitchen.
you should try medan or penang oyster omelette. they deserve the michelin too
I am deeply invested and must go
I need more of these.
hello ba, egg oyster with fresh oyster - whatis the green sticks - is that chinese chive or cilantro - thailand with oyster is the first one in appetizer. this dish is usually in queens chinatown known as taiwanese plate with oyster rice noodle porridge. it's in a smaller bowl than rice porridge. think some people use red vinegar in the rice noodle soup. thank you again - hope you get a larb ground meat episdoe in. elle for non-curry 2
omg one of my fav! soft one is definitely better
Omg that looks so amazing.
That little pinch of MSG at 4:27 😂 🤌
Nai Mong Hoi Tod, awesomeeeeeeeeeee
I love Thailand ❤
OMG!! Lucas in my country!!!
Hehe. He tried so hard to avoid saying that sauce at the end is sriracha. 😂
MORE LUCAS VIDEOS!
As someone who hates that soft French style omelette, that crispy one is calling me.
