My sinister blue 2000 fxst. All I can say is WOW! Make it your own and completely unique bike that’s different from all the rest especially the boring touring bikes which look like they’ve all been stamped with the same mold.
-- 2” lowered - black 14” apes - Mustang solo seat w/backrest - black swept Bassani slashed drags - custom large bags - Ray’s air cleaner and covers - black slashed custom levers and fat sponge grips - 80 spoked Crome rims - power Joust tube carb misting w/larger jets - mini floorboards - clean look low profile black luggage rack.
Just make it your own little head turner and be proud of your softail.

"It sounds cool. It's comfortable. It's very, very nice to ride!" That's why some people like the Softail. By the way, on Harley Softails, the turn signals are self cancelling. After my Honda, it took me awhile to stop cancelling the turn signal after a turn (which turns it back on).

i don't think that way though, i wouldn't even say that statement by bricklinsv1970 is correct cause im on softail forums and people are selling there slick looking mid 2000s softails for like 6-8grand, its all on your tastes and style, and sure you can't be broke broke but im paying my 2016 deluxe off for another 3 years its my first big purchase im 27 got it when i was 24 and live paycheck to paycheck its just comes down to what you want to invest in, and i love my softail!

    • @EliteMuppet
      @EliteMuppet Před 5 lety +1

Your comment didn't make me think that. It's people who make statements like "because you can't afford a harley" and the like.
Yeah there are plenty of used Harley's out there that are more affordable.
If I see one for just the right price I may pick one up. Either a road king classic, or heritage softail with an evo engine. I've heard too many problems with Twin Cams.. Especially early models (which are the more affordable). However I am a bang for the buck kind of person.. and At current market prices I can't justify buying a harley for twice the money as a Japanese or European bike of the same year, condition and mileage.
So again.. the right price and Ill get a harley.. Until Then ill stick with my Vulcan 1500.

Been long time Honda rider, few years ago started riding Harley. As for the turn signal situation, threw me off too, but after riding a while you get used to it. I know people are going to argue with me, I'll say it anyway, I think Harley buttons make more sense after getting used to them. I'm not defending brands, still love my metric bikes, but not sure why the metrics don't follow suite with the button configuration

The motorcycle you're riding in this video is my exact bike. Well, same make, model and year. It's hard to find fault with it. I've been riding Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha and now Harley. I love it. Even the 2003 model year with it's carburetor and lack of, well anything modern, is usable in today's world.

I had an 85 FXSTC wide glide w/kick start and had to use it occasionally. (Glad I had that kicker too) The battery was lawnmower sized. But I loved the bike, the look, the ride. An Awesome ride and I want one again. There were nights when I out cruising and I wish I had a 5th gear but, still loved it. I'm 69 now and retired but I would hug it, kiss it and squeeze it and call it my baby. May God bless... Great channel,. Ride to Live and Live to ride. Orange County Cruisers Forever. 🤠🙏🙏🙏

I had the exact same experience when I first drove mine being a Sportster owner it was quite a rush to sit on the Softail and twist that throttle out on 283 headed to Lancaster it was a life altering event it was like driving a Cadillac so the softail is now sitting in my driveway. I did a few mods to the exhaust experimenting with different materials and found a way to keep it sounding like a softail but it quiets out on the highway so I can listen to my in helmet audio system without having to blast it. I would love to drop in and see you guys sometime next year! It would make my day getting a picture together. God bless.....

I have the Same bike i inherited it from my dad he passed away in 2023 from Pancreatic Cancer luckily he was Christian so it relieved me to know he's much happier, anyway the bike is a real pain. This might be my first road legal motorcycle but ive ridden it enough that I've had to tighten almost every bolt more than twice, even after i used loctite. He put a longer front end on a few months after he got it back in 2017 and after being at a HD dealer late 2023-2024 to get a fork leak fixed a new ignition a new front tire and a welded gas tank. The gas tank has since then come loose, and the front end shakes. Now I didnt tell them that i wanted them to do fluids but i told them uts been sitting for a little over a year and i was unsure how the spark plugs looked either. They didn't touch any fluids, I'm not an expert but I've always kinda thought if you learn anything at all about engines and vehicles 1 of the key top 5 things you should learn is to replace all fluids if its been sitting for a long time. All that for $1,200 and its back to the same issues plus more

So I'm about to buy an 07 softail and I realized that I have to scoot forward a little to get the bend in the leg to reach the clutch and brake. I'm 5'6" and I feel like I need an adjustment to the pedals. Is this normal? I've wanted a softail due to its look and feel while riding.

It's not exactly short-shifting, most Harley's are high torque moderate hp, so most of the power pushing it comes from the low end, there's not much in the higher rpms, that's where my fxd is a little different. It shines in the low end and carries it through up into the higher rpms. It's my first bike, so granted i can't compare it to anything else, but its snappy from start to finish i love it..

If you're a God Fearing guy, you should appreciate the "Davidson, i.e., Son of David" aspect of the HD name... The softtail design of the HD's was meant to capture the original look of early
motorcycles which didn't have any suspension except springs under the seat. The name softtail came thru the fact it has the early "look of a hardtail" while the shocks are hidden under the
frame, making the tail of the bike "soft"... I've been riding HD's since 1982 and I really appreciate em! The new Indian MC company will give meaning to the phrase "good old competition" , and
it'll be GOOD for everyone. Harley will get better or get gone, and vice-versa !!! The American Way... "Free Enterprise"... I enjoyed your enthusiasm on your test ride! God Bless! jp

The culture has changed a lot. Guys don’t like the classic looks much anymore. They want blacked out bikes and such. They want ones that have more lean angle and can carve corners more. They want more more more power. So the old version softails just aren’t very popular anymore. They sit down low and don’t carve corners much. They look like classics. But me personally I LOVE the classic look and feel 😎. That’s why I bought a used 2016 heritage softail with only 9k miles on it instead of a new 2024. Plus I paid 11k for it rather than 26k 😂. It’s teal and white like a 1955 Harley. Just how I like it 👍

2003 was Real Anniversary model. This trying to re-create the excitement around Harley Davidson making it 100 years has never worked the same with later "anniversary" models. A 2003 FLHRSEI2 was a very special motorcycle, far more than paint and badges, it will be a collectors item at some point. Dont think the same thing will happen with later anniversary bikes.

But used on the private market 👍. Great deals if your patient and look around. A new 2024 heritage softail is 26k dollars here now. I bought a used 2016 with only 9k miles on it in mint condition for 11k 👍. But I coulda got on an older one in good working order for 6k dollars or so. So they are obtainable if you stay away from dealers. Their prices on used bikes are as insane as new bikes! They wanted 14k dollars for a 2016 just like mine and it had 55k miles on it ! Like I said…I bought one with only 9k miles on the private market for 11,500 dollars. Quite a big difference.
Just look around, be patient, and don’t be afraid to make offers. Lots of guys still want lots of money for their used harley they spent big money on. But after they sit for months and nobody pays it then the price starts coming down. The one I bought they originally wanted 14k dollars for it but after sitting for 8 months and it selling they accepted my offer of 11,500. Good luck !!

Respectfully, your personal supernatural beliefs don't belong on a video where folks come to view motorcycle videos. While it's only a brief, easily skippable, it's annoying for being out of place. Is there some shortage of churches (etc) around that are the suitable place for this entirely different topic? The answer is "No." Start a different channel or something if you want to preach about what most people in your audience likely don't care to hear about. Sticking in your personal world view, regardless of the brevity of it, on these matters instantly makes it not personal, much like the disturbing knocks on peoples' home doors by your competitors in the supernatural game.

Answer me this please: under what circumstance can the ownership of other Human Beings ever be justified and considered morally correct?
For direct context from your bible the following, for which I ask you directly "Do you agree with this or not?
"The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.
However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
The following passage describes how the Hebrew slaves are to be treated.
If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.’ If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)
Notice how they can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave. What kind of family values are these?
I look forward to your considered reply.
      Ride safe out there.
