Hello friends, in this video I'll be reviewing my favourite 67 camera for 120 medium format film, the Plaubel Makina 67. Featuring an amazing 80mm F2.8 Nikkor lens, this is probably the best medium format lenses around...
If you're a film photographer looking for an amazing medium format camera that almost rivals the quality of a large format negative, then this video is for you.
If you're interested in other 67 cameras, like the Plaubel Makina W67, Makina 670, Pentax 67, 67ii, Mamiya 7, Mamiya 7ii, or even the Mamiya RB67 or Mamiya RZ67, then you might find this video interesting as well.
All the black and white pictures in this video were made with Ilford HP5, Delta 400 and Delta 100, developed on Ilfotec HC on the AXLE CR1 Rotary Processor. The other 120 black and white film stocks I use are Delta 3200 and FP4+.
The colour pictures were Kodak Gold 200 in 120, Kodak Portra 160 and Kodak Ektar 100. I use other film stock as well, including Fujifilm PRO160NS and PRO400H.
If you enjoyed this Plaubel Makina 67 review, and you love film photography and shooting color film too, join me on this analog journey here on CZcams. Thanks for watching!
    Peace,

I had a Makina, unfortunately the shutter mechanism broke twice within 2 years requiring each time a months long repair for more than 1000 Euro/ Dollar despite being really careful with it. So eventually I gave up on it since it was not reliable and costly to maintain :( But I always loved the concept, design and image quality) - I am back to reliable Leica Ms :)

I loved mine, but I spent more keeping it in repair than I spent on the camera. The nikkor lens was in the top five sharpest lenses I’ve ever owned including the hassleblad I also owned at the time.

great review. appreciate you talking about the less technical (qualitative as you say) aspects of the camera and lens.

Great video and you have a new subscriber. I currently own a 1951 Voightlander Bessa II with a 105mm Color Skopar f3.5 lens - I love the detail I get from the 6x9 format and it's a really great folder camera - I'm wondering how it would stack-up against the Makina 67 - I'll have to look for some comparison video's. When I look at the detail I get from the Bessa II when I shoot Ektachrome 100 I really cant tell the difference between my Nikon D850 and the Bessa II.

I use a Fuji 670 which works like my analog Leica MP except medium format. Love it. Lot cheaper then the makiba.

Awesome! Oh interesting.. Where I am, the GF670 is more expensive / similarly priced to the Makina...! I guess prices fluctuate!

I am also on the fence for a Makina 670 or a GF670… or should I get that MP first? I use a Minolta XE-5 and 1😊
