Since I'm trying to get leaner right now, I made these meals appropriate for my own calories & macros. You can of course adjust the amounts/portion sizes to suit your own needs, but generally these meals are more suited to those trying to shred down like me. I will do some bulking meal prep in a future video.

Baked beans in a chilli? The only thing more British would be if the beef had a drinking problem.
and if you were British, that attempted joke would have been funny.
He didn't add sugar in there so the beans actually make a lot of sense since it has a bit of a sweetness to it.
with a tea on top of that
Thats funny, its OK to be funny. When you have the gift of funny, pragmatics become of secondary importance,,,rightly so because its all about timing,,,,the time was right.
The most British thing in this is when he sniggered at "knob" of butter! 🤣🤣🤣

Yo people! If you have any questions about the vid, drop them in the comments below. I'm a few days into my meals now and actually proper enjoying it, so might do some more of these videos with different recipes if people wanna see 'em? One thing I didn't mention (but hopefully goes without saying): don't put the foil containers in the microwave or it'll probably blow up. Cheers everyone xx

I like how the video started with the chilli recipe. It was all arty, calm and very slick looking. Then it descended into the amount of green beans referred to as "a fuck load" and the chicken cooking time being like, yeah I dunno, 25 minutes, that'll do 🤣
Literally a rare youtuber that mentions his sponsors at the END of his video, respect bro appreciate it
Seosamh MacAoidh you have to say it’s sponsored at the start but talking about them and doing the ad read at the end is just a nice thing to do.

@@joshuathesquashua4613 Our Billy's just had his first Red Bull.
It really unhealthy, he uses tinned baked beans full of sugars. Beef mince full of fats when hen should be using turkey mince and he does not include the basic herbs that give a chilli its flavour, the guy cant cook and obviously does not have a clue.
Use Cumin, cinemon stick, bay leaf, chilies, kidney beans, coco powder half a teaspoon, 1 desert spoon tomato purea, onion. Tinned tomatoes, half a disolevex in water stock cube, some black pepper and thats it. Add 1 tin of water same as 1 tin of tomateos to help with reducing as it will be cooking for about 3 hours.

Which level of heat did you use to cook the onions before adding the minced beef for the chilli con carne recipe if I may ask?

One of the best videos I have seen on cooking on youtube. The meals look like something Id eat myself. Its cheap, and the idea with making trays is bang on clever. Never thought of that. Pre cooking usually meant cook it, and then put the pot in the fridge. :o

So much love for this ! Great vid. Health at a budget👌👌
3 years later and this is still my go to meal!
Love the vid, but I only have one piece of advice. Skip the frying pan and do the initial cooking/browning directly in the pot, that way the added moisture will de-glaze the bottom of the pot and you get back a lot more caramelized flavor in the final product.
Great video! Actually budget meals that are actually meals instead of just some rice with meat and 2 grams of vegatables.

Brexit has had no effect on prices yet and won't until Jan 2021. When it comes to food prices it will open our markets up to the rest of the world and reduce the cost of food, clothing and footwear. The EU is a protectionist trade cartel designed to artificially prop up inefficient agriculture on the continent and exploit the 3rd world. Get informed.

I make a similar chilli too but with turkey mince and chicken stock, turns out pretty nice! For the greens too you can get a bamboo steamer, whack some stuff (broccoli, carrots, beans) in it over a pan of boiling water for like 15 mins and you're done. Easy peasy.
100%
Love this video! Can i give u one tip though, whenever u cook dry spices add them before u add in any wet/ liquid ingredients (tin tomato, tomato paste, beans ). Spice tastes better when its cooked properly without liquid, takes 2-3 mins once the oil separates then add your wet ingredients. Flavour develops much better ☺
The Asian way 😂
How come when he cooks it there’s like no mess but I did it and the smoke alarms going off the mince is burning and there’s sauce and rice all over the floor

I would recommend sautéing the ground beef in several batches and flattening it in a skillet. What it does is create a nice caramelization and also enhance that great meaty flavor. Only then do you add the onion and let it absorb the fat that has been released and remove the glaze from the pan. Trust me, the difference is noticeable.
I cooked this chilli last Friday and tubbed up the rest. Really nice with the baked beans. Nice one Joe.
