FISHERMEN TRAIL 🎣 · 8 CARRAPATEIRA - VILA do BISPO

We begin the day by leaving Carrapateira on its southern side, leaving behind its banks and the valuable natural environment that surrounds it.
In the place of Forno we recover the sea breeze by looking out over the Ponta do Castelo to scrutinize a modest fishing port and the Praias do Portinho do Forno and do Amado. The remains of an ancient fishing settlement of Islamic origin are also located on this outcropping.
Next, we walk along Praia do Amado along its shore and then ascend a demanding slope that separates this sandy area from the next one, the isolated Praia do Murração.
After flanking this last space that represents the imaginary limit between the parish of Bordeira and that of Vila do Bispo, another steep climb awaits us that takes us inland.
A few hundred meters later we turn towards the coast again to explore a wild and fascinating landscape made up of the cliffs between Ponta das Safias and Praia da Pena Furada.
When we finished the transit through the last of these locations we faced the last and hard climb of the stage to reach the western crest of the Pena Furada Ravine. Here we will travel the last 7 kilometers, somewhat monotonous, to today's objective. Vila do Bispo.
