    I think a lot of you are missing the point here. It take a LOT out of you to actually kill someone. In fantasy it's easy to say, "oh yeah I'd take that guys heard off because he deserves it." But in a real life scenario, you start to think about what you're really taking away from someone. You relate to that person and try to understand why they are the way they are, and most of all you start to ask the question, "who am I to decide who lives and who dies?"
    [spoilers ahead]
    In the beginning he's young and naive so his emotions can get the better of him. Fear, panic, He just reacts without giving it too much careful thought, but when he's older, he's experienced and has better control on his emotions. Most importantly, he's a father. Yes a teenager can make a mistake, and yes his wife is gone. But like how he wouldn't want the life of his son taken from him before it really gets started, he can't take away the life of another kid before it gets started. So he does the right thing.

      You're exactly right. While I was listening to this, I tried to put myself in the same situation. Even if the person in question is a complete piece of shit, you still realize the gravity death has not only for that person, but for everyone in that person's life. Not to sound cliched, but you're not just killing one person, you're killing a small part of everyone who ever cared for that person.

    • @KaitlynMutt
      @KaitlynMutt Před 10 lety +4

      Is it the right thing, though? Isn't 'people can make you miserable but you have to forgive them regardless' an answer steeped in vaguely religious morality?
      Also, if the story was meant to make us feel as though people like Walter just need time to grow into better people, why not show that instead of just having him appear as the stereotypical high school douchebag?
      You can say 'think of it in a real life situation', but if there actually WAS someone that singlemindedly hateful and violent, I have a feeling I'd be less than regretful over their death. If the author wanted to show that a single person cannot in good conscience choose who lives or dies, then they ought to have presented a life that was worth more to the world than 'potential to do good'.

    • @MrCreepyPasta
      @MrCreepyPasta  Před 10 lety +34

      KaitlynMutt again you're missing the point. Sometimes you dont know everything or the inner workings of a person's mind or past. That's what causes the inner reflection. Walter might have become a murderer when he grew older. He might have become a loving father and husband. but we'll never know because he was killed.

    My favorite thing about this story is the monster you make a deal with doesn't trick you. He doesn't make it impossible to find that whom you wish to kill, he doesn't make it impossible to say his name. I like the idea that the deal is still horrible, but not a cheat.

  • @EctocoolerEI
    @EctocoolerEI Před 10 lety +24

    The fun part for the Pastel Man was the guilt of the protagonist. I feel he would complete the contract anyway and keep the guy alive even though he didn't hold up his end. He'd still be feeling guilty for agreeing in the first place.

Thus in doing so, the thing he never wanted to do (take another human life) is something he had to do (first hand, not just watching as it happens) for eternity. Lock the door, shut the blinds, turn off the lights, but it's already to late. It's always to late. The beast is not in your house, he won't come through the door or the windows... He's in your mind, and locked himself in, never to come-out except in your dreams. There he is free to roam as in the dark behind your eyes. That's why when you walk down a dark path you think someone's behind you when there is a seizure like fear in the back of your mind. Now will the beast get you, or will you keep it at bay until the end of your life when you confront your demons in-front of God and the world. Will they in the end condemn you, or you them? To answer though would be meaningless because in the end all have at least one demon themselves, if you think you're above them or clean only makes you naive and only weaker to them. To finish I say, be prepared. (I don't know, just felt like writing a line or two and it exploded.) Good episode.

      +Noel Alexiusson But you caused the murder.
      Saying that you agreed to let the pastel man kill someone, and then claiming that you weren't the murderer, is the same as saying this.
      "I may have pulled the trigger, but I didn't kill him; the gun did!"
      It is the same thing. You would live with the guilt of causing a death and retracting a life from what it could have been if it had carried on.
      Nothing is worth that, even a loved one.

    No one deserves to die, even if you're killing someone to make a deal to bring back someone you love, you're still stealing the life of someone who may be loved by others. No matter what any of you think, no one deserves to die..

      coolguyman16 Some people deserve to die. ;/ Its sad but true, you can't truthefully say that you haven't seen or met someone who you thought didn't need to be alive. :/

    • @rhaegartargaryen6042
      @rhaegartargaryen6042 Před 10 lety

      Josh Marks Yes, I'm not going to lie I've met a few people that, to say I don't like them would be an understatement, But that doesn't mean I or anyone else should be the one to decide whether they live or die. There's no write or wrong in life. Take for example murder. If someone was to murder someone you loved, and you wanted revenge so you killed them. Who's the good guy and who's the bad guy? You've done to someone's family what they did to you, removing a loved one from their lives. So no, I don't believe some people deserve to die just because they don't follow what other people do, It's almost a form a Nazism to believe that someone who isn't up to your standards should be punished, simple because they may have some characteristic about them that they can't help, or that something happened to them that was out of their control which caused them to be this way, So no, no matter how much I, or anyone else, may dislike someone no one deserves to die.

MrCreepyPasta is my soul favorite, I have been listening to the list on Nightmare Fuel since my 2nd night, his voice just has this unbelievable calming affect on me, not to mention he's wonderful at narrating. Well, off to listen to my beautiful lullabies so I can get to sleep for work in the morning...=)

If I were you, I would request extra time to schedule an appt with the trump-man to do a journal entry on him. That'd cause a huge scandal though, and you'd be sent to jail. Of course, killing one man and potentially saving hundreds more is worth it.
