Moved here in 2015 from the valley and we love Simi the way it is. It's gotten busier now and I hope it won't get worst. It's a quiet city and a great city to raise family.
We like that there's no nightlife here, not at all a problem, no hustle and bustle!
Love the traffic here!!! You can go anywhere in Simi without a problem! Love running errands and not having to think about traffic and crazy drivers.
Don't forget, our Costco here is not as busy as other cities esp those ones in the valley. I'll never forget when my friend from OC came over to visit and we went to Costco. She was asking why it's not busy at our Costco, I told her that, that's already considered busy for us.
    Sales tax 7.25% 💪
Very tight knit here! Everywhere I go, I see someone I know. Everybody's very nice and warm.
Very safe city. So many pros living here. I know there are cons but doesn't really affect our lifestyle. Just a lot of love for Simi Valley! Don't miss that smile up on the hill by the 118 :)

Great channel! My wife and I moved to Simi in 2021 and love our home and neighborhood. You touched on the topic of Simi not having a great nightlife, which is totally fine. We would just like a more diverse restaurant scene. We find ourselves going to Porter Ranch or Westlake/TO to find nicer, healthier restaurant options. Hopefully Simi will incentivize more small businesses to open up shop out here as well!

Good review; even the cons listed were not negatives for me. I would say the only thing on my want list would be the addition of a few nicer restaurants to dine at. Thank you!

Your seasons are actually Summer, Summer, WIND and Fire. Thus the name "Valley of the Wind"

The most important con, Santa Susanna Field laboratory. You should definitely do your research before moving to Simi valley. Also the fact that businesses continue to close is another con.

I agree with the lack of public transportation. The city bus does not run at night nor Sundays. They do not offer transfers between routes, which can make it difficult (pricey) for those who need it for work or school. There is a inner city bus, Vista that goes from SV and throughout into Ventura. Yes, traffic does flow well, yet there are still daily fender benders and accidents. I also agree with the lack of nightlife scene, and like you I enjoyed it. DTLA is so close that I think for young adults there is no need for Simi to incorporate one. Although for the under 21 crowd, they should build an activity center, on weekends the younger crowd seems bored just hanging out at fast food joints. Crime in Simi is comparably low to some other cities in VC, however just like other cities, not all crimes are reported to UCR making the statistics unreliable. I lived in SV for 9 years before moving and I don't miss it. The scenery is lovely but beyond that it has changed and not for the best. Overall, good pros and cons. You kept it real unlike other REA.

My mom moved to Simi in 2003. It's clean and feels safe but it's so boring.

I can’t believe you’re saying it’s hot in Simi Valley year-round right now this October 14, 2023. I just had to put socks on my feet because I’m so cold and it’s very cold here not like snow cold but like California cold. I’ve lived here coming up five years and I’ve been coming here to Simi Valley for 30 years or more so I don’t know what you’re talking about. I wonder if anybody else does

Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious too, to see who else things it gets cold out here in Simi.

This article is outdated, there is almost twice the people than he says, because of this traffic is more like LA traffic. There is a massive housing boom a mad exodus to move to Simi. It's no longer quiet, crime is picking up daily. They are tearing up the hills, to build housing. Prices are high, housing, food, really really high. Schools are the best, Moorpark College is #2 in US, for community colleges. So many people now there's no small town anymore. This article is at least 3 years old. SMH

There is more racism in Simi than any other city in Ventura County. I remember when you could ride horses down LA Avenue.

And when L.A. Avenue was a beautiful tree lined 2 lane road. Grew up there starting in 1967. Would never go back now
