- 2nd to last Round of the European Hillclimb Championship, Ilirska-Bistrica held in Slovenia, featured one of the most insane Entry Lists of all year, with some of the greatest Monsters in the Sport taking part and battling it out until the very end for the Top Spot. For this Top 15 we used Single Best run for each driver, making for some quite interesting placings... Check it out:

Yeah, even without the speedo, the angle was perfect, really good for the sense of speed and for getting an insight on the different lines. Also, that biturbo porsche sounds like a jet in that shot

Man, those GT3-R. The 991.2 is so beautiful, and the 997 so raw. Wonderful. Can't wait to see and hear the 992 R Rennsport in Hillclimb.

Good idea with the speed trap - gives another dimension. Can see which cars don’t have the straight line speed comparatively but must have picked up a lot in the corners and braking, etc. On a side-note, that Porsche bi-turbo looks fun to drive
That´s the goal for sure, but we have plenty of plans for it in the future, you´ll see ;)
This video is stacked with monsters. Love seeing the acceleration out of those steep hairpins

Also, it seems the Clio E1 was hitting boost cut quite badly during the run.. That's a shame.
Very true, in normal conditions the clio would have placed on the Top 5 according to our math...

That's an EA888 inside. It makes sense to actually get the 888 and stick it into a light chassis - mk2 for example. Much lighter than the newest Golf GTIs for sure. Result = rocket.

This one was about chassis, braking and bravery. The top guys went past the speed gun upwards of 210kph... including that TCR Hyundai...OMG!!! Is that guy aware of his brake pedal???

While it's not super ideal, it is impressive that some of these chassis are so tight that they pick up the inside wheel on every corner. The Audi in particular was three wheeling half the course!

Why is the white RS3 fwd?
I was literally just about to ask why the RS3 doesn't have quattro? I'm guessing because FWD makes the car lighter? But then it also loses some of it's handling. I don't know.
@@NJRacer623 my guess was that its a spec car for a fwd racing series, I know there is an RS3 in IMSA's TCR class that is fwd

It's crazy how the weight and power ratio in this race doesn't matter, since cars with 500 horsepower and 1000 kilos have a better time than cars with 800 horsepower and 700 kilos, this event is insane
Downforce and brake setup differs hugely. But yeah it defies physics!
Most heavier cars have a bigger engine, have more power and torque lower in the rev range. They have a much broader power band. Lighter cars usually have smaller engines. The high horsepower ones usually have a very small power band, high in the rev range. They maybe lighter and have more power but it's harder to harness that power.
Driving to the limit on an hillclimb like Ilirska is quite challenging and driver mod becomes crucial. And yeah, an agile chassis capable of putting all power down also gives an advantage here...
Tire size matters, notice how the 550 bhp had a much wider track and tire size.
I feel like every time I watch these. It’s an Evo completely destroying.
