I know its only 2 games under joe schmit against wales, but i agree its great to see our discipline has improved drastically. I loved seeing the wallabies using their forwards, especially in the beginning of the first half, i usually get worried when the wallabies start creating a number phases with our forwards, but they seem to have improved. Defensively, the wallabies discipline has improved drastically as well, but we do look shaken and loose alot of structure once wales realy put the pressure on. Overall we won and im happy
out side of the maul defense everything looked very well structured. maybe with more presure from the boks and AB that will fall apart but we have to wait and see
As a Wallaby fan I now feel that the good ship Wallaby is in the hands of a capable coach in Joe Schmidt. People talk about Rugby players carrying the scars of past defeats. Well, as a Rugby fan, I feel very much the same way. However I am beginning to trust our new coach, and I sense that many other fans feel likewise. I'm not pretending for a moment that Wales were a top tier Rugby team. But they are a very similar level to us and therefore it was both a good contest and a great way for the Wallabies to prepare themselves for the much tougher competition coming our way soon enough. On tonight's match - Listening to the after match comments of Michael Hooper, had me wondering too why the Welsh didn't employ their excellent maul again & again to win the test. No doubt there's a reason. But it escapes me.
Goeie dag Wildcard! Wallabies keep marching on! Forwards played really well especially Fraser McReight and Rob Valetini and talk about chasing every opportunity Filipo Daugunu! Opening try was also good from Wallabies own try line. Schmidt IT IN!!!
That was a hell of a game, I reckon we can give it to Springboks and All Blacks in TRC, we just have to work on how we deal with the pressure those two will give us.
Good stuff Wildkard fuck Eddie Jones. Also 30,000 fans coming out to wach Rugby Union was heartening, especially with Melbourne Rebels got dissolved. But both teams, when under pressure, make basic mistakes.
I was kinda joking about Nic white sending up 10 kicks in the last 20. I counted 6 by my count 😬. Unfortunately I think teams have realised they can rush Noah and ball won’t get out to wright, kellaway and co. Decision making needs some work. But did well taking opportunities given
Well done Wallabies from another Bok fan. Good discipline and all the basics were there maybe except the rolling maul defence but hey that's relatively minor problems campared to where you were at a few months ago. Still early days but overall pretty solid performance, if i were a Wallabies fan I'd be happy with the turnaround so far.
Its the best the wallabies have looked in years...years. Like to see them up the intensity. They bit slow. But maybe could play into their hands against a up tempo teams
Australia got a better coaching team included the forward i believe Australia 🇦🇺 will be hard to beat the next world cup i never cheer Australia 🇦🇺 but now i cheer because i like the coaching
Watching it never felt like we (Wallabies) were in control, but the team were able to do enough and kept scoring points. Sure there were mistakes, but on the whole feel like we can rebuild from here. Wobs a long way off AB/Eng standard for mine, but a win is a win!
This is what I was saying to everyone. Wallabies under Joe Schmidt will turn their form around and be really competitive. I mean he does have 3x Six Nations Championship titles for Ireland and was part of coaching staff for the All Blacks 2022-23. Great resume really?
@@Wildkard You play what's in front of you. Depth is part of the professional game, so no I dont accept that as an excuse, and the Welsh players on the field fought hard and also would not have accepted that excuse.
Apparently, Gatland's job as head coach is safe and secure. That pretty much confirms the Welsh are in a worse position now than initially thought. No head coach can survive losing 9x straight games in charge, especially if you're the head coach of a Tier One nation. And it begs two questions; why did he come back if he knew in any way the cash strapped organization wouldn't be able to back him, and who would really want to take charge of this shambles of a squad?
Gatland has said that when he took the job back, he wasn't aware of the extent of the problems. He said that 'if he'd known, he wouldn't have come back'. But if you don't have the cattle, it doesn't really matter who you have as head coach. At least Gatland has a proven history of taking Wales to the top of 6 nations etc.
Congrats, Wallabies, on the well-deserved win. From a Wales supporter. Finding it increasingly difficult to understand what Gatland is trying to do playing so many players out of position. Thomas who started at flyhalf today is a center ffs and Costelow who Gatland has said is our flyhalf of the future started on the bench and was pretty good when he came on. Maul was good but line-outs continue to be abysmal. Loads of poor pens as usual. Yes, it's a young team, and yes, we have a ton of injuries (what else is new for a Wales team). But 9 losses in a row and excuses excuses at this point. It kind off felt like watching two bald men having a knife fight over a comb. Only Australia have gotten hair plugs and rogain and Wales are going with a combover. Congrats again, Australia. Good luck going forward against Georgia (ill be cheering for Georgia though. I love Georgian rugby) and in the Rugby Championship. And yes i had multiple glasses of scotch watching that game.
@Wildkard I'm not saying I think we should change coaches right now i think it still makes sense to stick with him. I'm just finding it hard to understand some of the squad selections and really don't understand why he is playing people out of position. But he knows about a million times more about rugby then I do so...
im happy australia is back this new coach turned the aussie team from teir 5 to a good teir 1 (in terms playing and skill not money) (fiji is still winning) but yea i could see the koala kants becoming atleast top 5 good job and keep it up wildkard.
This part of a new Wobblies coaching tenure is always the most amusing. "Why do you build me buttercup, just to let me down, and mess me around" The single most poison chalice in World Rugby is the Wobblies coaching job, due largely to the delusional expectation of its idiotic fanbase and media. You don't have the cattle - simple. Pretty soon Schmidt's role will be reduced to, as with all his predecessors for the last two decades, "moving deckchairs on the Titanic". Scratching a couple of wins against a Mud Welsh side is of no consequence.
Well done Australia. Felt for Wales but they did steady the ship somewhat. Australia will only get better. I know very well how Joe works as an Irish man. He along with David N will revive Oz rugby by focusing on grass roots on a stand alone basis. How it's supposed to be done. He is slow to make changes though & that used to frustrate me, but what the hell do i know tbf.
oh right i didn know he always slow on the subs, maybe he didn wana break the consistency. but donaldson is so good my 1st pick starting 10 so really didn need to be so safe
@@Wildkard True, but Joe is all about trust circles & those who follow his directions always get preference over players that are percieved as better. Farrell learned that off him. It could take 3 or 4 games for him to make what seems like an obvious change to us mere mortals. The thing is it works. He dragged Ireland out of the also ran tag to be considered a real threat. It maybe too soon for the Championship just maybe, but he will have a challenging team ready for the Lyons.
P.s. It was him that unpicked Ireland in the WC as he knew every single weakness that sexton had. Farrell's mistake was not changing that with Crowley, but the ABs were just fantastic anyway.
Wales should have won the game they were the better side, Australia used all their luck up in one game and were very lucky to win. Donaldson should have came on for the last 20 minutes thought they needed a running nr 10 to finish. Last Ten minutes was nearly to late.

joe schmidt was the all blacks selector and pulled it out of the gutter last year so he sure has that keen eye
