I wish to thank you for taking a lost, little car that nobody wanted anymore; rescuing it; putting much love, sweat, and tears into this sweet, quiet car; giving it a home, and a new purpose in life. It shows just how creative, caring, and stylish you are for bringing this car back from the dead...so to speak. You've done an amazing job on this neat little car!! Keep it safe. All I'd like to do with this cute little car, is run up and give it a huge hug.....
Superb workmanship ..,It's nice to see they heater channel outlets not covered up with carpet always a sign of a quality restoration and one of the first things I look for. It's easy to see this was a labor of love for old Beetles : )
You did a great and responsible job with that car. Only change I would make is to raise the front and lower the back so they're even but that's just my preference. Love the last year of the original bug, 66, with metal sunroof and pop out side, air-conditioning, windows!
Wish I had another ... My first car was a 1966 Volkswagon 1300 cc with an Abersparker Gas heater ...6 volt ....Such a cool car This one is fab and done so nice
Great Job- It is set up so nice. If you change the engine out -keep you old one and do not sell any org. parts. Hang on to everything. Having org.parts with your bug is like money in the bank- only better. I wish it was my bug. Great color
1:32 Make sure your boots have the seam at 3 O'clock facing the rear with sealant in the seam. There is no flex in the seam. VW owners manual. For your viewers. Great job!
well done, the body seemed really solid.. wish i could find a car like that in Finland.. my 66` had some serious issues with rust and a lot of velding had to be done. anyway NICE!!
@lboftheyear - It took me about 20-months to do the entire restore. I did all the work myself. The pans were in good shape, had to replace the front driver pan quarter, but everything else was good. Just installed a 1915 motor and it runs great. Thanx.....

Nice video! Great job man! I have one waiting to be restored... I don’t have much mechanical experience, thinking to do striping and then to give to proper mechanics to do body work and engine rebuilt, electric etc. Assembly do on my own to save some money for fuel ;) and have fun an my handwork on my lovely beetle.
@aloano - I bought the interior from Wolfsburg West. I do not remember the price but you can go to their website and it lists all the pricing. Thanx for the comment, as of yesterday I got my 1915 motor installed. Hope to be able to drive it again any day now. Congratulations on your new bug, that is awesome and Java Green is a great color :-)
@mowie1236 It's called Fat Mat. It's a sound deadening material. Helps with road noise, engine noise and heat. I am glad I did it. I would do it again in a heart beat. Well worth it. Makes the doors sound solid when you close them.
@FishSticksRGud - Wow, thanx man. Look forward to seeing some pics of your 66' I am working on my 63 now and trying to get my bad ass 1915 motor ready for my 66 for the spring.
I just worked with my "Mazda 323F" ("bg" body from 1991). Now I know - restoration is not so easy as it is on Discovery chanel ) But it is realy interesting. And you are right - if you just made one car, you will need and feeling to restore more cars!
1964 Cool. I also have a 63 that I'm working on, more for just a driver. Just so you know, my green 66' was the first time I have ever done anything like that before. I did the whole car myself. So if I can do it, I'm sure you can also :-)
@squareyes1981 - WOW, thanx a lot. I love this car, its been a lot of fun. Now it has a built 1915 and is even more fun then before...... Hope you build your bug one day...
