That trick at the end (7:14), removing the small pulley to thread the main drive pulley, is genius, that's how I was able to successfully finish this task. Excellent suggestion.
Thanks for the comment and feed back, much appreciated 👍👍😎
Very helpful video, thank you. You ability to single handedly remove a pulley, insert the belt into the pulley behind the guard and reinstall the pulley and nut, all-the-while clearly filming said process with the other hand is truly impressive.
Haha, 🤣 yes it takes some doing sometimes. 👍
Hey friend - greetings from Pennsylvania. Your video was infinitely more helpful than the manual. Belt snapped today on my first mow of the season. I watched your video, installed a new belt and finished mowing the lawn before it rained! Thanks!
👍 thank you for your positive comment. Glad that I could help out 😎
Just did this yesterday, wish I found this video first. I did it the same way, I imagine you cut the smashing of fingers parts while breaking those nuts loose. I even had to remove the small pully to get the belt over the main drive. I also took the opportunity to grease up the spindles. Excellent video.
Thanks for the feed back. My nuts were not very tight and came off easy. 👍
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! This was perfect!!
Glad it was helpful!
I found it much easier to simply take out the deck entirely, then use a blower and remove all of the debris. It's also a good time to scrape all the built up grass from the underside of the deck so it doesn't rust through. Once that's done it's MUCH EASIER to thread the belt while the deck is out of the mower, then slide it back under and re attach. Don't forget to grease the deck at the grease ports too!
Probably not a bad idea. 👍👍
Thanks for the tip!
Glad I could help.
Great job
Thanks for the feed back.
Great video
Thanks👍
Here is a hint for the next time you change out your belt.. Your last step of getting the belt around the last clutch pulley, simply use a Large screw driver into the "slotted bracket" next to the spring loaded pulley and push sideways to loosen belt. It will then slip over the last pulley. Might need two people, one to hold the screw driver over and the other person to slip belt over last pulley..
Yes two people is the answer. Unfortunately or may be fortunately there is only one of me. 🤔
Geeze mate it really let go. Great to see everything green up there. Hope it helps someone out as I hate to think what the shop would have wanted for that. How much did the belt cost? Cheers Mike
Belt alone was around $60. I did not even ask how much to fit as you would have to transport the mower to the workshop and then wait around for it to get fixed. Do it yourself in about 15 minutes.
@@MikesManCave Gee not a cheap belt. Short again on camera men and women I see Mike where are they when u need them! lol. Cheers mate.
How many inches long is the original belt ? I had bought 2 already same legth a bit shorter comes to me ! Cant force it in
No idea, never measured it, I just buy the one John Deere dealer sells me.
Thanks for the video
I'm more interested how to take of the mower and on
