Everyone's talking about either he's, ripped, He'll get his arms back, whether he deserves sympathy or not, or about him apologizing to Eri. What I wanna know is how his boss would react to him. Like he'll probably get pissed at him for putting him in a coma and using his Grandaughter as a weapon. As much as I love Overhaul I want to see that reaction from his boss, he does deserve it.
That sounds great which is probably why we’re not going to get it; too nuanced for the speed run MHA is currently doing. I love the show, but many themes or interesting ideas only get explored at a surface level or are forgotten about entirely
Overhaul has got to be one of my favourite villains in MHA. I was hoping to see more of him after his defeat and was exited to see him in Season 6. I wanted him to somehow obtain some form of power he once had and become a threat again. I wanted to see the broken man fix himself back up. But it would appear as if such a thing wont be happening anytime soon. Such a damn shame.

I can definitely see Kai's Character Development.. If he is truly sorry to Eri, He may have a chance..To change. I hope he can truly feel sorry, To Eri after all he did to her. Without his quirk he can't do much harm..
He doesn't feel one bit of remorse toward Eri. He used her, tortured her, mentally abused her, over and over again. And the worst part is if he could do it again, he would. That guy sees Quirk as a disease when the only disease is himself.

His ideology is weak and dumb, he has plot armor as he kicks ass with a pretty bad quirk, his reasoning barely makes sence, the author made him kill a prison mate who is heavily implied to be r****t which is a cheap writing move to make villain sympathetic, and the series make it seem like his ranting was so powerful every villain was moved and every hero was scared even endeavor which is bs he is just yapping nonsense about how much he loves all might.
I like how the entire MHA scheme has changed. In past seasons, there were always clear blue skies, smiling faces, and while there were difficulties and hardships, the characters were able to pull through and work towards their dream of becoming pro heroes! Plus Ultra! But now, everything just feels... Gone, I guess. I don't see the bubbly brightness of Season 3 anymore. Everyone is distraught, they all feel dead inside to an extent. There's a lot more depth to the story itself than there was before. Even pure comedy moments are scarce now. Seasons 1-5 (well, 4 and 5 were kind of stepping into deep territory, so really 1-3) are kind of like an induced high, while Season 6 is when you come down from that high and realize that you need to deal with life socking you in the face.
To be fair, this is about having super powers in the REAL world. As fantastical as it can be… it wouldn’t be real if it didn’t get as low as it did high.
I’d say Overhaul doesn’t deserve redemption, but seeing as every villain in the series is getting it or getting warranted sympathy; he should get one as well. Cool character from a cool arc with an even cooler quirk
While I'm glad Deku is trying to help even the villains where he can, I wish he would have checked with Eri first, to see if she even wanted an apology from her abuser.
An apology is not something you "okay" beforehand...it's done at the will of the one at fault. Also, it would've certainly been good for Eri's mental wellbeing to get closure and see Overhaul in such a non-threatening state after all he's done.

Though, overhaul is massively outclassed right now, he'd need some help or the glowup of the century. Thematically thought it might just go like deku vs muscular pt 2, given how those two represent a better version of their counterparts quirks though they still lose due to a mental factor. Muscular now lost on a mental AND physical factor though so i can see the writing holding up and it going that way for shiggy too
Overhaul doesn’t deserve any sympathy. He’s a lunatic who killed people left and right, under the delusion that they were “sick”. Not to mention all the torture he put a little girl through. He may be broken now, but he only seems to regret what he did to the Yakuza boss, not the child he repeatedly tore apart.
His boss is Eri's grandfather and Overhaul put his boss in a coma that he could only reverse. He wasn't planning on taking his boss out of the coma until his plan succeeded.
I've been having this theory about what would happen if Overhaul were to apologize to Eri. While mast of what I will say can be a possibility, I know that it probably won't. From my calculations, depending on how much Eri has healed since rescued from Overhaul, my theory is that when Overhaul is apologizing to her, I see him almost begging forgiveness just so he can see his boss. However, Eri's reaction will be sweet yet shocking. Assuming heroes are watching the interaction to make sure nothing happens, I can see Eri smiling and maybe not completely forgiving him, but feels a tad bit bad about his state. A lingering sense of this being her fault might pop up, but this is all hypothetical and just a guess. I'm not sure why, but if Overhaul were to make a comeback in some way, Eri rewinding him might be a possibility. Since she wants to be a hero, I would not be too shocked if her kindness was the type to rewind him for a second chance or hope he is alright. THEN AGAIN, after everything Kai did to Eri, I also wouldn't be surprised if she was scared to face him or didn't want to at all, even if it's just a bit.
