    Hello Campers!
    Loyston Point is an excellent Campground in Andersonville, TN which is about 45 minutes from the Knoxville area. It is located on Norris Lake. Unlike Norris Dam State Park these sites are right on the Lake. There is water and 30 amp service. They also have kayaks, paddle boards, and even a pontoon boat to rent! All in all it was a great experience and a great place to stay. The bathrooms are dated, but they are very clean. They are also temperature controlled which makes a huge difference in the summer or winter. The staff is very helpful and nice. The dump station is not working, however, they do have a honey wagon. They will pump your tanks at no additional charge on your way out, or if you require additional pump-outs they charge a minimal fee, which I believe was $15. This one is definitely on our list to do again in the future. The largest downside to the park is the roads getting there. As long as you take the route listed on their website there is only one sharp turn that they recommend passing and coming from the opposite way. I didn't come in that way and there were a lot of narrow roads. I did leave that way and I'm pretty sure in my 30' fifth wheel I could have made the turn but I went on past it to see where you could turn around. There is another intersection just past that turn, there is also a church parking lot, Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, just down the road. If you are going down to turn around I recommend the road to the right just past the church. as the road splits and there is plenty of room to turn around without being on the more busy road. It almost appears that this road loops around, but the gps map showed a dead end.

    Great detailed campground review, Barrett. Awesome drone footage. The lake looks beautiful. The arrows would be confusing. I thought they were trees on the sign, too.

      I go to many places around here and very rarely go the same place more than once... I haven’t been disappointed yet

      I wish I was allowed to incorporate more drone footage but I am usually limited to a small amount outside the park due to drone flight park rules

    This is a beautiful place. hope we get to see it this fall. How are you liking the Andersen hitch? We get some hard shucking with ours. we are going to remeasure ( installed by dealer) and see if our’s needs to be reversed like your’s is. we also have a Ram short bed truck.

    • @GimpyCamper
      @GimpyCamper  Před 3 lety

      I like it, I’ve had a little but not much chucking. I have a video on it as well. I tried installing mine the other way and the back of the pin box was going to hit my bed rails

      it just doesn’t seem secure to is, so we will remeasure and see if we need to turn it around. if that does not stop the shucking, we will probably try a pullrite. My husband used to pull doubles, and after trying this andersen, he thinks he wants to go to what he knows is secure. we bought the andersen because its lite and rated for 24k lbs Thanks for writing me back.

    Thanks for the information.. I have a 26ft (tongue to bumper) travel trailer. Will the waterfront sites you mention be a problem? And.. u mentioned a back in site that would put the camper's backside towards the water... did I hear that right?

    • @GimpyCamper
      @GimpyCamper  Před 3 lety

      Yes, you heard that right... truth is some of those waterfront sites are ok and some aren’t. My friends at Ramblin’ Home made a video there shortly after ours. I’d ask them what they think. They have spent a lot of time there, I only had a couple days.
