It would be Kunio appearing as a Fighter in a future Smash title. His moveset would involve moves throughout the Kunio-kun series and other Technos Japan IPs. Spirits don’t deconfirm characters, but Assist Trophies and Mii Costumes do. Kunio did not appear as a Mii Costume. Music from the Kunio-kun series, including the original Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun, River City Ransom, Shin Nekketsu Kouha: Kunio-tachi no Banka, and River City Girls, would be featured. Kunio’s victory jingle would be arranged version of an unused jingle from River City Ransom (track 14 of the NSF file), based on the GBA version.
@@gabe_gamer9320 I think the Japanese version had the main characters wearing more Japanese-style school uniforms on the cover. The greaser thing was only for the US' version.
@Fernando Alvarado are they though? what were their original names? even so, why wouldn't a japanese game with japanese characters be able to adopt an american culture? that is what the game has done already anyway, and it would be awesome to see a newer rendition of this game with more accentuation on the rockabilly shit
@@Rainborn i still agree that this is probably what the music should sound like... but i think the game was based on the old days with the whole japanese school gang shit that was popular back in the day. the original names of the protagonists were kunio and riki i believe.

I'd love to have a new Nekketsu sports game. Most sports games don't interest me, but their games do. I think it is funny how you can cheat and cheating is often rearded.
I started playing this with my dad this afternoon, took one look at Alex and Ryan fighting, and said, "Let's be honest... these guys are 'bro' dudes..." Try and prove me wrong.
@NESSideConnection in that case, it's deceptively impressive work. the sax completely fooled me, especially in the use you made of glissandos. the one thing that probably stuck out right off the bat was the piano, the soundfont is not very convincing; other than that, great job, looking forward to the finished track!
this is a certified hood classic
I always felt this theme had a 50's vibe to it.
You only need two words to describe this theme: certified banger.
You've made it even catchier?! YOU MONSTER!
Seriously though, this brilliant work.
I always wanted to hear a 1950s sounding River City Ransom main theme. Thanks!
I still love this so much. This song sounds so natural in this style.
Because the original was inspired by 50s era bar music
Naturally it does. When I first played this game, I instantly thought "Okay, Overclocked Remix needs to gives this song a 50s groove."
awww yeah 50s style. Righteous
best remix of this song ive heard. absolutly amazing work!!!
I fell in love with this so much, I want to make a movie now with this as the intro song
If Alex and Ryan were in Super Smash Bros Ultimate that would be cool.
its not the same but riki and kunio (their girlfriends too even) could make sense for blazblue cross tag since ark systems owns the series now
Well, apparently there is going to be Kunio-kun spirits in a few days so... at least that's something.
Es me encantaria pero nintendo nunca pone lo que pedimos
@@ziro6319 That'd actually be so awesome.

I've had this stuck in my head for the last three days. I can't get over how good this is.
I had no idea that I needed this until now.
one Mega Man character to another, we all agree River City is as fun as Mega City
This game should be a movie
i did music for that too. They called the track "Keep Fingers Away From Blade" i think
Klng5hlt there was a film adaptation of River City Ransom. It was called “River City Rumble” and it was released in 2004 by X-Strike Studios.
@@AndrewAmbrose
omfg.....i didnt know....thanks
i have played the game so many times......a movie would be quite interesting
there is also a live action series based on it in japan, but it uses all the original unamericanized characters.
Check out "The Warriors".
This theme NEEDS to be in Smash Bros! I want a River City Ransom stage!!
I was hoping for a RCR skin, minimally, for Mii Brawlers, with at least a song to add to maybe the Onett stage.
That song reminds me of a bar from the 50s or something, but your version fits the game very well
Perfect; definitely how I imagined a remaster of this would sound with real instruments.
This is a kick-ass rendition of the song! To be honest, I like segments with the saxophone.
This theme always did that swingin' dance vibe - this cover really captures this - rockin' job man!
Come to think of it; the art and music for this game reminds me of the movie "Westside Story"
Dude....this version of the theme is awesome
That saxophone sounds great!!!
I love how about a third of the comments are " *Barf!* "
Can not be unheard.
perfectly! Thanks, very good job!
Awsome! It makes me want to dance AGOGO
Actually matches the US box art which happens to look like two greasers at the epicenter of a classic 50s style rumble.
I know the game came out in 1989, but at the time did Japan think America in a giant 1950's themed enviroment?
@@gabe_gamer9320 I think the Japanese version had the main characters wearing more Japanese-style school uniforms on the cover. The greaser thing was only for the US' version.
Well, it seems in classic anime, the toughest guys always had a pompadour. That is probably why our heroes had the greaser style.
This is how it should actually sound... if they ever remake this.

I woke up from a funny dream last night. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry were beating up the Generic Dudes.
Great take on a great theme.
Call me crazy, but I wish his version of the song was in River City Girls.
Let's just hope this gets put in the upcoming sequel.
This just makes me want Kunio in Smash, along with a Riki, Alex, and Ryan costume.
Me too, imagine this theme in the characters trailer in e3
Who were they in Street Kings?

What about Kyoko and Misako from River City Girls?
@@gabe_gamer9320 I wouldn't mind them, but Kunio is more the icon of the series anyway, and Riki works as an alternate costume.
I love this game
It’s perfect
The first time I played this game and heard the main theme, I thought it sounded like 8-bit rockabilly music 🎶
Which is actually a HUGE subculture in Japan right into the current day.😎
@@hazelgoodshepherd9315 I think about how the tough guys in Japan love to wear 1950s style clothes and hair.
@@skylinefever Exactly! I knew a girl from Okinawa who says it’s still a big thing nowadays.
This is totally cool, just freaking awesome
The nostalgia for me is deep. Its like Doom music but also happy, crazy as it sounds
Catchy.
Oh, this is awesome, I think I'll click the repeat button one more time.
Cool! Imagine how awesome it could've been if Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis had covered this together in '89 :P

This is freakin' AWESOME!! *BARF!!*
Beautiful
Awesome work.
Brilliant, I love it :D !
I’m having a hard time believing that this was made in 2011
I can imagine Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Chuck Norris having a dance party by listening to this song
Then beating the crap out of eachother afterwards.
I imagine them beating the crap out of generic thugs and each attack is synchronized with this sing.

@@TheSmart-CasualGamer Maybe the Generic Dudes need to BARF while syncronized to this song.
Now that you mentioned it, I can already imagine Chuck Norris as Kunio/Alex and Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan as Riki/Ryan.
Nice! I can't wait to it when its done!
Kunio on piano
Riki on saxophone
Misako on bass
Kyoko on guitar
Slick on drums
This cover is fucking great.

i BARFED up stone handes :D

Are you ever gonna offer a download link of this? ;w;
If river city had a 90s western made movie adaptation. I imagine crash and the boys would be better for an adaptation though tbh.
