I wanted a ticket for the last run, but BA didn't know when that was yet. So I picked a random date, June 23. It turned out to be exactly four months before the last flight for paying customers. I was very lucky and managed to get on that flight too! I'll be posting re-mastered video of that flight in the next few days. I was on my way to attend a job/call/incident in T4/LHR many years ago [early 2000’s] at an airside airline operations office. To get access to the ops room/office, I went via the next gateroom. When I reached the apron level and opened the door, a BA Concorde had just been given the OK for engine start up. I did not have any ear-defenders😮 If was going to go deaf in an instant, it would have been done with style and by an icon of aircraft design and beauty. I stood there for a few minutes in awe at the sight and sound and living the moment😊
Dennis, its a beautiful video! An awesome trip on Concorde... I have really enjoyed watching it. Alive history... People are very excited in anticipating the flight sitting at the Concorde lounge at Heathrow airport. Looks like Titanic atmosphere... You ve got nice taste by the way, if you stayed at Plaza :))) ... Thank you very much for travelling in those days for 20 years!

I saw Concorde at Nadi airport back in 1993/4. It was parked beside a 747. It looked surprisingly tiny in comparison. My then 5 year old child always told people we had seen the concrete airplane.
Concorde was the most beautiful and graceful aircraft ever engineered. It's such a disaster that it went out of service. It's another disaster that most of the remaining planes are rotting instead of being cherished and protected for posterity.
I agree that it is disappointing how many of the retired Concorde are being stored and treated.
