    An easy trick to keep a gasket from falling off when installing something like the timing cover, is to simply put a bolt in one of the cover holes. It acts like the alignment dowel and keeps it in place until it's all lined up and on the motor.
    Beautifully clean motor. Just the way it should be when doing assembly.

  • @Station18
    @Station18 Před 6 lety +14

    I may be mistaken but it looks like you locked one cam gear the opposite way even though you said "look I got it right the first time!" From what I can see you locked the gears differently on the secondary cam chain even though the gears spin the same way. It may have been intentional but it looks like the exhaust cam gear can still slip. Just looking out.

      Nope, i believe he did them right. The engine spins to the right, so it would push on both of the bolts and hold it in place.

    • @Station18
      @Station18 Před 6 lety +1

      Brendan Phipps Check the exhaust cam gear. I'm pretty sure bolt pressure is the only thing keeping it from slipping.

    • @ALBERTOBIGBOOST
      @ALBERTOBIGBOOST  Před 6 lety +8

      as I explained in the video, the chain rotates the cam gear, the bolts transfer the rotation to the cam, spinning right it puts the load towards the left side. then the other cam gear is moved to the right by the bolts so it has to go all the way to the right side so it doesnt move with the rotarion, then the intake gear moved by the chain has to go in holding the cam to the left side so it doesnt move. everything was done right. in the video. no mistakes

    Okay Alberto, I’m refreshing a jz right now and have arp head studs ready to go in but I can’t figure out which way to install them. I’ve heard that you put them in the block hand tight and then torque them down in the proper order, and that you hand tighten them in, put everything on, and then put the head on and torque the nuts down. I’m confused and I figured you and/or this video could help me
