    In Romania there is something very similar called GOMBOTI either PAPANASI, this dough of potatoes cooked with flour is cut into slices, after enlarging it, then filled with plums - previously having removed the stone, having mixed them with sugar and cinnamon. While you put water to boil. When the water is boiling, put the plum-filled balls in and let them boil for a few minutes, until they rise to the surface. They are allowed to cool and Once cooled, they are dipped in a mixture of semolina flour and sugar. The seed must be toasted in a pan to brown it, without oil - obviously. Then they are left in the refrigerator. It is a dessert very rich. Instead of plums, other fruits can be used. It is also made with cheese

      Nu are nicio legătură! Se face, într-adevăr, un aluat făină plus cartofi, se fac tot așa, fâșii lungi și rotunjite, ca niște funii mai groase, se taie cam de 10 cm lungime și se fierb, ca gnocchi și apoi se amesteca cu pesmet sau cartofi pure, se numesc cici! Gombotii sunt modă ungureasca!

    She started when it was still light out and didn't finish until it was dark out! 😂 This is definitely a putzy and tedious process, but they taste so good!

    Amazing. I love Italian food. So much attention to detail. I would try to make this but I hate kneading dough by hand. Too much work for me.

    My favorite pasta. My Gram used to tease she was making gnocchi for her gnocchi hehe my dad was Irish and our mom was Italian. Hehe Pasta and potatoes are the two best things in the world why not turn potato into pasta hehe🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

    Most do not roll the dough off the fork! I loved watching u do that!! The sauce just curls up in the middle where the fork makes those fork marks!! My grandma taught me that ! Yum

    Very nice recipe for basic gnocchi !
    I am professional pasta chef myself.
    I have a variation or two.
    Instead of salt use finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano generously mixed in with your flour along with finely chopped Italian flat leaf parsley.Then proceed to mix it in with the potato and egg.

    What happened to just gorgeous! And you're crazy brother is now in the background. I know people complain that you weren't serious when you did all those antics but to me being Italian I found it stupendous! Because if you can't be a clown in the kitchen you take life too seriously. I'm still subscribed to you and always will even though I know some of these recipes like the back of my hand! But you put so put much pizzazz in your demonstration of it I just love it. Tanti Auguri!

    I make my gnocchi using baked potatoes, I don’t add egg and I use 240g of 00 flour: 1kg of riced potatoes. My gnocchi is very cloud like and melt in the mouth but I'm kern to try this version!

    why do you peel the potatoes after boiling them? is there some secret to this, why not peel them before you boil them?

    Second variation:
    Add squid ink to your egg enough to turn the entire mixture black .
    Top with a sauce made from a lobster bisque reduction with crabmeat or shrimp or any type of seafood concoction.
