How To Make Racing Bar Graph Comparison Videos (Full Tutorial)

- In today’s video, I’m going to be teaching you how to make a racing bar chart / graph like the ones you might have seen on CZcams or Reddit (on Data is Beautiful). Racing bar charts / graphs are a form of data visualization video that you can use to show comparisons between different variables (such as changes over time). While racing bar chart videos may seem hard to make, this tutorial will be teaching you how to make your own bar chart race for free with no coding!

Within minutes, you’ll be able to make your own comparison videos and this tutorial shows exactly how you can do that. Racing bar chart videos are great because there is so much data available in 2021, and having data visualization over video makes it really easy to show trends that are engaging and fun to watch. You can also post racing bar chart videos on CZcams and Reddit (under the r/DataIsBeautiful subreddit) where they often go viral!
To make racing bar graph videos, you will also need a spreadsheet tool such as Microsoft Excel to organize and clean the data. Before you visualize the data, you have to make sure you have all the values and your numbers are consistent so they can be easily compared. Then, with the Flourish bar chart race template, you can easily visualize the data and customize the graphs to match the style of the video.
