if you are a progressive and a liberal lemming you cannot understand mamet and his transformation and writing/speeches. that is your loss. others who were/are like him: thomas sowell, david horowitz, andrew breitbart, and me, etc. go ahead be more like marx, engels, mao, and all the leftists you can tune in and hear every night on t.v... but i gotta tell you, the economics and politics they espouse has never worked anywhere, anytime. you are living a dream, not reality. study more and try to wise up. you are helping no one with your outmoded views of progressiveism, socialism that the democratic party and american liberals espouse. mamet is trying to point that out to you. read his book again and watch his interviews and presentations on youtube.

Andrew Breitbart? Wrong role model, D. Grem. This is a man who called himself a Christian and broke the eighth commandment as much as possible, by falsely editing a video to destroy ACORN, a group he didn't like that helped the poor register to vote and get low-interest loans for housing. He ommitted anything from the video the twerp kid shot, including getting kicked out of three ACORN offices and having the police called on them later. Breitbart released that false video, claiming it was unedited, and successfully destroyed ACORN with his lies. This all came out later, After this group helping the poor was destroyed. Breitbart was a cretin, and should have been in prison for his lies; but he knew he could get away with it. This is not someone for anyone of integrity to respect. But I doubt you care about any of that.....

John Richardson lets end this interchange after this/my last rant; nice try but no banana; all you can come up with as a retort my comment is to slander breitbart, a dead man. editing?????? editing?????the main stream media does it daily. its part of the profession. watched the ferguson ordeal lately on t.v. starring jackson and sharpton? the deal is what acorn did and stood for. of course, nothing wrong with prostitution if you are not a prostitute or the prostitute is not your daughter. no laws were broken by breitbart et al. what acorn did was evil. if you like that, go for it. but might want to read dante's inferno first. IF breitbart is a cad, what do you think of our wanna-be-golf-pro obama the potus and his performance? and as for federally supported low interest housing loans for the poor, dont look know, but that is what caused the economic collapse in 2008 (subprime mortgage crisis). try googling that. if you have any money or investments then you know about that. do you? i thinks that mamet, breitbart perhaps could be over your head. maybe you should choose more suitable authors and pundits in order to avoid the obvious frustration you are experiencing. good luck. why in the world were you reading their stuff in the first place? are you employed by media matters? if not, apply.

      D. Grem, what Acorn did was evil? They called the police and reported the weasel O'Keefe when he claimed to haver underaged prostitutes he wanted to smuggle into the country. Please explain the "evil" in that. The guy at Acorn let him talk as much as he wanted to get information out of him, then not only called the police after he left, but the law enforcement in the country O'Keefe claimed he was smuggling the girls from, to stop him. None of this made it into Breitbart's fictitious smear; a false smear you evidently did not research and still believe in. The man O'Keefe lied about, by the way, was fired from Acorn , because Acorn believed the video, and didn't have access to the raw footage, until the State had to subpoena it several months later. Too late for the man who tried to do the right thing protecting children.
By the way, that man wound up suing O'Keefe for slander and won; O'Keefe the weasel had to pay him 100,000 in damages. Look it up; it's online.
I was not interested, by the way, in using Breitbart to refute your last comment; I didn't care about refuting it. My point was only about Breitbart; Breitbart lied and not only bore false witness, he went one step worse and Created false witness, with his phony video. And if he destroyed your reputation by creating a phony video in such a manner, you might just have a problem with it.
My point only was that Breitbart was a lying creep of the worst sort, with no shame in his false slander of innocent people, who destroyed people's lives by creating a false video that he lied about (saying it was unedited), and is not someone for anyone to respect.

There is nothing truly inchoate about criticizing a system that also happens to be profitable. In fact, the profitability of slavery made it worse -- and more sustainable without war -- not better. Are rich Hollywood liberals insufficiently grateful for a system that enriches them but harms so many? Perhaps. But they are not wrong because they bite the hand that feeds them. In fact, it would seem more ethically enlightened than merely inferring that what is good for them must be good. The criticism would seem better launched against those who say that their own role is unethical and do nothing to rectify that.

His point about global warming is stupid. Just because there are floods in the Bible doesn't discredit the idea of climate change. Anyway, I don't recall CO2 levels getting much of a mention in Genesis. His insights on human character are smart but his political thought doesn't get much beyond lazy liberal-bashing, which seems to be all most conservatives can manage - which i guess is what they have to do, seeing as their beliefs are so indefensible on their own terms.
