Thrifting at goodwill, Grab yourself something to drink & come along!
The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions & flea markets ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, and on Facebook Marketplace, which fully supports me.
A BIG THANK YOU!!!!! to all of you who continue to support my Channel and my Ebay store!!

Shannon crystal is made in Ireland. Very good quality.
It's a division of Waterford.

Thought so!
Thank you
Appears to be made in the Czech Republic now.
I thought so! I love looking through clear glass even though I don’t know much. But I learn and look because there are amazing pieces!
Goodwill can take a flying leap. They're so greedy, between holding the best items back to sell online and raising prices when, as I always say, they get their inventory FOR FREE. I haven't shopped in a Goodwill since the end of last year, because luckily the other stores here are better (though everyone seems to be jacking prices right now, thank goodness for the honey hole antique stores). I don't even donate to them anymore, I donate to local stores. Rant over! Congrats to you both on that great find/sale, and even more congrats on getting hitched!
Savers sucks too. My Good will is pretty much clear glasses and baby clothes.
I totally agree. A pair of used shoes for 24.00 ?? Outrageous
I make Victorian lampshades so I would have bought that lamp in a heartbeat! New handmade shade and sold for about 1.k !
My hubby still has his Lionel steam engine train set that he got when he was 3 yrs old and he’s 74 now.
Fun video. I love the clear isle. So overlooked. I too have been known to save a nice pot with a chip or two in my day. Ceramic/pottery pots are darned expensive new, but if I am using them to put a plant in I don't mind. They still look much nicer grouped in the garden, over plastic pots any day and the plant covers up the chip anyway.
The lamp with the abalone shell inlay is Korean lacquerware.
I so wish that I lived closer to you. I'm in New Jersey and our good will never has anyting. You are Goodwill's always look like they're packed. I'm trying to start a business and it's so hard when you go to a Goodwill and they really don't have anything. I'm a senior citizen and I'm low income so I'm trying to increase my income. And you guys are so good at this!!! I so enjoy watching your videos. You're just such a sweet person. Have a fantastic day even though it's pouring down rain and now it's thundering. Much love to you both. 🌹🤗❣️
Find a good flea market. There is an AMAZING one in Columbus NJ near the Amish area of PA. Sundays are the best day to go there. But it's open Thurs. Fri. Sat. too.
@@LannieLord thank you so very much!!! I used to go there every Sunday with my mother.
I would have totally grabbed that black with mother of pearl! That was beautiful
You guys are certainly easy on the eyes. 😘
I have found that many of our Goodwills are overpriced, I’ve cut way down on shopping there. I would rather go to one of the two bins in my area and get 3 or 4 times the items for the price of 1. I find that I do well with estate sale items, as well as habit for humanity. That hero scape is a real bolo, I’ve never heard of it. Love how you and Roger are such a great support for each other, each with your own style of items.
If this Ebay thing doesn't work out, becoming a stand up comedienne is your next career. The other day, you almost made me spit my lunch out. Lori
Modpodge that lamp base! And I love the black lamp with the abalone design the crystal rose bowl could turn a profit
Not many people are taken with clear glass. I, on the other hand, love it more than anything else, especially if it’s shines and sparkles. I don’t have young children so I have a couple of odd crystal glasses in my bathroom plus crystal and gleaming glass votive holders. They are so beautiful when the lamp is on or when the sun is shining through the window.
I could almost guarantee that large white/off white Lamp in your cart is from SEARS I had the exact one in my bedroom as a teenager in 92’
I love that you and Roger thrift together....my husband will go but sleeps in the car until I'm done, geez😂
Asking Roger about the lamp reminded me of when I ask my husband if this outfit makes me look fat- men really don't want to answer in case they say the wrong thing.
The food on the shelves does seem odd. Who's to know how it was previously stored. That is scary... Hello Karen & Roger
Goodwill at one time gave seniors their discount everyday now it’s only Tuesday and at our Goodwill they just recently said that Senior discount could not be used on tags that are $1.99 that day. They are slowly losing sales. Like you said there are many other Thrift stores! Wow what a fantastic profit you guys made, perfect partners😄❤️
I live in Oregon and everyday is Senior discount and 50 &75 percent color of the week..We don't get a lot of high end items but I have started selling on Ebay no luck and it's been over 2mos. I guess it takes time. Not as easy as it looks
I always chuckle when they ask if I want to give to go up to the even dollar amount, that these funds go for training people. Isn’t that what the income from the 100% free items do?
Yes….I live on the coast and the Eugene and Coos Bay Goodwill stores offer it also..
Wonderful flip on toys.
The cookie jar is Anchor Hocking from the 70s. My grandmother had the exact one and always kept butter shortbread cookies in it for her grands.
The green apple dish is from the early 60's.
I have the same pressed glass biscuit jar/cookie jar. In approximately 1992, it came from the Corning Glass/Corelle Outlet Store at what was then the Outlet Mall in Sarasota FL. I assume it was sold at all their stores. It sold for $10.00 and they sold them by the hundreds. I hope this information is helpful.
I remember those, ( the first lamp) but they had flowers and bows on them, and came in matching sets, I had a set with punk/mauve bows under the flowers.
I’m a PA girl too ! Just posted a thrift Haul Vid !
I'm a bit out of it, but Shannon, Ireland used to be known as a location in Ireland that made some of the best crystal.
When I sold crystal in the 1980's, 24% lead was the standard by which quality crystal was measured. The lead makes the crystal more sparkly. Sometime in the late 80s a law was passed in the U.S. that the lead percentage had to be reduced due to potential lead poisoning. Lead poisoning isn't really a problem unless a person stores food or liquid in the 24% lead crystal for an extended period of time.
The Czech clear bowl was probably a Crystal Rose Bowl. It looks like a small one so probably in the $30 range larger ones I have sold for 65 pair.
Yes, Shannon is good. Right before that I think you passed up a smaller version of that pressed glass biscuit container
I loved the pale blue lamp you showed & put back.
Pink is a GREAT color on you Karen!!! So beautiful! Thanks for another GREAT video!
Wow! 25.00 turned into $571.00. Phenomenal!!
Karen hello , I just love watching you . I am so glad I stumbled up on you’re channel . I have went back and watched all youre past videos and can’t wait every week to watch youre next video . Since watching you I’ve decided to start doing it myself . And now it’s just learning what to pick up and to price the item . I want to it full time I think I would enjoy it . I’m just now trying to get my husband on board . We both work our own hours having a business of our own . So that gives us a lot of free time to do what ever we want . I could go thrifting every day but not got him to that point . When we married 20 yrs ago he had never even been to a yard sale have been working on him all these yrs . I have finally got him where he realizes yard sales and all the other places to thrift from . I have got him into it some if he would be 100 % that would be fantastic. But until then I’ll take him wanting to part time . I have learned so much from you in just the past few months from you and a few other resellers here . And I’m so so excited for you and Roger you can really see you’re love for each other . I smile everytime I see y’all together. Thanks for sharing you’re sweet journey of Roger and you . Can’t wait to see you’re new bedroom I know it’s going to be Gorgeous! I am from Arkansas and man how I wish we had all the thrifting places y’all do there or maybe there are some around I’ve just not found them . I’m keeping my eyes open for any thrifting place I can find . Thank you so much for you’re continuous videos and sharing all you know . Congratulations to you and Roger be blessed Melissa from Arkansas .
I feel about toys the way you feel about clear glass. I just can't wrap my brain around them. But you might be changing my mind based on the score you found for Roger. 😄 Great job and great eye.
Hi Karen an roger sending you both lv uk Ann ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
Another great video! Love seeing you and Roger thrifting together. I have purchased items from both of your stores because of your CZcams channel, Karen, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have learned so much from you.
What’s the name of Rogers store?
I was watching an episode of Monk and he was in Mexico and there was a similar chandelier in his room like your hot air balloon one.
Ravensburger puzzles are great. My kids really enjoyed them. They have excellent images.
Thank you Karen! Wow, good to know about heroscape!
That shade was epic
Love this!!!
Love the lemon wreath on your door ❤
I would be REALLY interested in learning what percentage of goods Greedwell takes in as donations and what percentage is actually SOLD as opposed to what percentage is DUMPED into the landfill.
I'm pretty sure they don't have any type of comprehensive Inventory Management System that would reveal that, but I'm certain that they discard a much, much higher percentage of goods than they sell... OF COUURSE, they don't sweat THAT because everything comes to them completely FREE of CHARGE... what a deal! (I find it morally reprehensible considering how they operate, but who wouldn't want a businees model just like it?!? 😏)
I'd love to see Greedwell de-escalate their prices across the board with an eye toward SELLING MORE and DISCARDING LESS.
Would love to see them initiate something like a "Throwback Thursday" each week where all clothing prices roll back to pre-inflation levels. I will bet that they'll sell tons more items on THAT day than they did the day before or will the day after... just a little experiment whose time has come!
Seriously , they need to make HALF the store "Everything Here $1.00 Each" . I collect paper items and ephemera like old maps and things that I AM SURE they are throwing in the garbage .
@Lannie Lord
I don't think Greedwell realizes how they could really clean out their inventory the way you suggest... Think how much better it would be if they could score $100 on clothes that would more than likely end up trashed! Maybe they just don't get the idea of volume...?
WOOOAHHHH😱 I have never heard of Heroscapes before!! I sure will look for them now!! AMAZING flip congrats on your sale!!🥳🎉
Happy for Roger's profit on plastic toys. Some Ebay sellers list items for overexaggerated prices. Goodwill prices vary. Most are way too high right now. I look for the 50% off deals, unless something has a good value. I only like to buy name brand clothing there.
I enjoy watching your progress.
I love your intro! Love your videos as well. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much.
Fun video Karen! I love seeing you two thrifting together. And what a great find you had made!
You 2 are a perfect match!!!
I love the new Intro. It's fabulous !!!! and your videos are very informative. I now really look closely at Goodwill's and grab so many goodies. The renovation looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the completion. Thank you.
Love the teal lamp! Wow, Karen, what a haul of those toys you handed to Roger, and what a profit from the sale! Congrats to you both!
We love your open approach, your integrity, how organized you are. I feel warm and welcome when I watch your channel. You guys are lovely!
The Goodwill's in my area are no where near as expensive as the ones in your area and I'm in So Cal! I don't blame you for shopping elsewhere! You're right, there are lot's of thrift stores that don't charge those prices.
I’m in central Pennsylvania and it’s miserable weather ⛈️ 😩 thank you for the vid guys ❤ Dawn
Hi Karen and Roger! Enjoyed your video. Glad you’re finding items bringing in a great profit!! 🥰♥️
Another great video Karen. Can't wait to see more of your home but our weather has been crazy with this rain.....
Many blessings and much much happiness on your upcoming nuptuals. May God Bless you and your you union.
🌼 Enjoy you both so much! 🥰🙏
Good Morning Karen! Enjoying your video on this beautiful sunny morning while having coffee & waffles. Tyfs your trip to Goodwill today. I have loved buying lamps over the years & sold mostly at my room in an Antique Mall or at local Antique/Vintage Sales. Great flip for Roger on the Heroscape that you purchased. Steak & Lobster it is Karen!!
Patty 💚🐦🎶 Alberta 🇨🇦🍁
You are very fortunate to have well stocked goodwills. Our goodwill in geneseo ny is very sparse for hard goods. Hopefully, yardsales produce more treasures!
I always look through clear glass even though I don’t know much, but I like to learn cuz you can find amazing pieces!
I agree the lamp you were going to take for your place looked like it was from 90s maybe sold at Walmart.
Your hubby reminds me of mine!! You are such an adorableccouple!!
❤❤❤you are fabulous
Nice haul and cutest couple every! :))
Love your new opening!
Great show I couldn’t figure which lamp was going with you lol
Hi Karen: So proud of you, did I just here you say: “ Lamp for OUR living room?” Keep practicing!!! Love ya from Vegas!!!😊😊😊
Sorry no gold at Goodwill. Anything of value goes on line or elsewhere😢. Greedy Goodwill. The people working there said they check everything on line and eBay and the managers take care of it😂
so many shoppers find gold / precious metal ALL THE TIME! I've found it myself...
I have found plenty gold and silver at Goodwill especially in the jewelry jars. Last week I ground 6 sterling goblets for $2 a piece. They miss a lot even with the clothing if it's not a popular brand.
I found a very large solid sterling silver parrot broach at the bins a few years ago and it sold for $120. I only paid about $1.00 for it!
They try to get the good stuff online, but they don't catch it all!
Did you see someone else called them Greedwill?!! 😂
Chinese black lacquer with mother of pearl inlay lamp. I'd had swooped on that.
You might start looking at just the frosted glass for Lalique crystal. It can be worth hundreds.
The owl leather decanter is from Spain: Raymon Artesanía
thank you for your videos. I've decided to do this too. i to live tonight to introduce myself then the adventure begins. wish me luck and thank you thank you thank you for all of the advise
Nice new intro. I'm just back in Florida from New Jersey and was only able to go to a few Goodwills and an estate sale. I did have to buy a bigger suitcase. Didn't have time to cross the Delaware.
Never heard of HeroScape but will keep my eyes peeled for it! Higher prices mean we have to be much more selective these days. I used to carts full of items at goodwill and now i often get a couple items
Love the new intro!
Enjoyed your content and browsing your eBay shop…
I want the leather owl!!! ❤
I had no idea about Heroscape and wow, what a profit!!!
That japenese lacquered mother of pearl inlay lamp cha ching!
That 3rd lamp. 😍
It's too bad it wasn't in good shape.
Great new intro, very professional!
The forest green lidless sandwich cookie jar used to sell. Sent one to Alaska in the 90’s for about $30.00.
I would love to find a pottery lamp. Your lamp is fantastic!
Stunningly beautiful, wow
Love the video ❤❤❤
I'm with you on the clear glass. It's very pretty but I know nothing about it. I do know the Shannon crystal is from Ireland.
The Shannon Crystal plant is located in the Czech Republic.
@Juliet Jackson I just saw some vodka glasses at goodwill and they said Ireland on them. I'll have to google. .I'm kicking myself for not getting them. But i'm moving and it's just one more thing to pack
I like the other green salt and pepper shakers to
We have two colors in our store in our goodwill. And our prices have not gone up much. I have heard of others complaining that they have gone up but I go every day because the goodwill where I live is half way to my mom’s house so I stop in a lot.
no lamp please! LOL
the biscuit jar is an Anchor Hocking Sandwich Glass cookie jar. It's based on an old antique sandwich glass pattern.
The problem with the higher pricing is EVERYTHING had gone up. Personally, I can always find clothes for a decent price but not as quickly as I use to. Especially not for real leather bags and shoes... but 17.99 is far too high for a used swim suit... yeah, I think Goodwill is basically keeping up with the times🤔
Clear glass is good if it hits your senses in a great way.
I think that the black lamp is papier mâche. Many of the Chinese abalone trays and boxes are made that way.
The base was fine on the lamp , it’s the shade that dated it.
Damnit I would have bought the blue lamp! The stain I would have the back! Oh well........ we are all crazy girl just different version talked to your daughter Mellisa about that! WOW Yeah Roger 571.00 great sake and I love the black desk table!
Such a classy couple
I wish Roger would talk a bit more....
Some people don't like being in front of the camera
The lamp looks like a Pottery Barn dupe! Needs new hardware though.💡
the chinese lamp would have been a good one... I think it was black lacquer ---
Nice bamboo color
I think on clear glass pieces tat are signed by the artist will be worth because taking the time to etch the name in like Waterford is going to cost money so the company must know they a re going to get a LOT for the piece... clear smooth bottom also indicative of quality because they tool extra time to polish ... And unique pieces things you have never seen before and use the word" oddity" ... I used that word recently on a very old listing and now I have 2 watchers LOL.. I know it will never sell but honestly I do not want to sell it . Just sold my favorite silk scarf and I am sad it is leaving but getting a good amount for it , knowing it will be used again and it is going overseas kinda takes the sting out of the loss
He must be good for you, because you’ve never looked lovelier.
