Under parental pressure to find spouses, Asha and Ravi pretend to date during a summer of weddings - but their ruse goes awry when feelings turn real. - Zábava
"We've mutually decided to fake date but oops we like each other" is one of my favorite tropes. Usually I don't like rom-coms but this is my EXACT flavor of cheesy.
Me tooooo! I can't get enough of this type of romance novels, one of the best tropes imo
😅😅😂
Lol
Netflix is catching 90s Bollywood
😂
No doubt Netflix would come to dead end in Indian market in nearby future .
Yes 😅 ie: To all the Boys I’ve loved before…also Netflix & the best type cheesy 🤣
@@anh1192 and bridgerton season 1!
Can I just say how glad I am that her Indian outfits are cute and on trend, none of that ugly outdated stuff with outrageous colours that you find in most American movies
Oh yeah!I swear,i hated all the dresses in Bridgerton!
yessssss exactly
HUHHH!!! THOSE are beautiful (the ones that are authenticity true) and the ones from Bridgeton were english dresses???? like they were trying to accurate to the ENGLISH culture they were trying to return to. of course they show their indian culture through their jewelry and makeup and sometimes the clothing but even her wedding dress was an american one!! they weren’t 100% supposed to be indian

Why so much hate? It’s a rom com; there’s only so many ways the plot can go and that’s the point. If you want something more original or “less stereotypical” watch a different genre. Personally I love a cute rom com especially one with POC. Can’t wait to watch!
True
Sameeeeeeeeee looks really lovely
I agree its just what you get with the genre
true same here
POC ??
Ooohhh we've seen this plot a million times, and I'm gonna watch it with a smile 😊
Absolutely lol
You are me 😭💕💕

Indian + romance + fake dating trope = my new comfort movie! I’m so ready for this! FINALLY a character that isn’t always complaining about being Indian 🙄 but she’s embracing it and the story revolves around her exciting life AND a cute boy!

one of the best romcom in recent years
The actors were fantastic, especially her mom.
There’s nothing bad in seeing a movie with a similar plot; as long as it’s good and people love it. Anyway, I would gladly watch this one because its already makes me feel goofy and what’s not to watch in an Indian rom-com 🤭😁?
we love predictable stories
As an Indian i would ans ur last question...the over the top bollywood dance numbers. Hate them. Spoils good movie and increase run time
There are better rom-coms made in India itself than this.
@@arthurfleck8067 depends on the film

I love the increasing Indian representation with Bridgerton, Never Have I Ever, and now Wedding Season. I love to see it
But the sad part is only Netflix doing it & not major studios!
This is bogus representation

Loved that it’s POC story we need way more in all genres! Love it
Loved the movie. People who are complaining that this is a sterotypical movie need to first understand the meaning of what stereotype is. Sterotype is something that used to happen but doesn't happen anymore, yet the world still assumes that it exists. Whatever is shown in this movie does still take place in reality in India. We still have arranged marriages. We, especially parents, still care about what society thinks, marriage is still a big deal in our country, people do lie in their biodata for marriage, parents still expect education and job as top priority for marriage, intercaste and inter-religion marriages are still frowned upon, etc, etc. So please tell me what is sterotypical in this when these things still happen on a daily basis.
It's happened in your house not my I am also Indian and I hate this 😒 stereotype
@@Wind713 shut up man.. stereotype means it doesn't happen anymore but people still think it does. Just because it doesn't happen in your house, doesn't mean for the rest of the billion people in India it doesn't. As long as it does happen, it's not sterotypical.
@@Wind713 dude, if it doesn't happen in your house, doesn't mean in the whole of India it doesn't happen. Is education not a priority in an Indian family's house? is arranged marriage not an expectation in Indian society? is inter-religion marriages completely acceptable in every indian family's house??? Don't indian society poke their nose in other people's business? Don't people in matrimony sites lie about their profile? Everything is still true. Get out of your house and learn what's happening in our country!!!

Oh see my 1st thought wasn't that it was stereotypical. My 1st thought was it made me smile & couldn't wait to watch it. That may have been the wrong 1st thought. But I'm having a REALLY baadddd day & it was the 1st thing that made me smile.
It's just bc of the name brainwashing, i bet if it was streamed in other platform i guess u gonna throw up watching it

This was a fun movie. I loved it. My favorite line. “Let your love be greater than your fear”… priceless words.
A movie with no violence. I’m all in ❤
I really loved this movie!! The cast, the outfits the colours!! So entertaining and traditional and full of music! Big recommendation! PS: So happy that Suraj is playing in it! He deserves more roles!!
The mom was so funny, especially during the confession scene.
That was adorable.. Story, cast and their chemistry.. It's all cute🥲
I am extra excited for this 🤩Its always wonderful to watch Indian culture in the western world. Hope they don't mess this up.

However stereotypical it may be, I'm happy to see Indian characters in the western mainstream🤌🏻
Was wondering why the guy looked so familiar. He was in Life of Pi. Always thought he was a fantastic actor. Nice to see him again!!
He’s also in How I met your father.
I’m so happy Pallavi Sharda is having a moment.

I'm so excited for the Bollywood dance moment and to see the beautiful weddings/traditions
This looks stereotypical AF and doesn't represent 90% of Indians at all. Can't we have one brown love story in Western media where it doesn't have arranged marriage being the basis of it??? That being said, I'm gonna watch it and see what happens, maybe it might surprise me
I'm a 2nd gen Sri Lankan Canadian not Indian but the sad truth is that even in this day age ... even millennial and Gen Z South Asians born both in the West and South Asia are still controlled by conservative and out of date people who still have no clue how the modern day Era works!!!
TRUE
Don't think they it's there job to show real accurate indian characters who are like 90% of indians. Their primary audience is their countrymen and indians living there. Why would they create something that their majority of audience find difficult to understand. Beside money, creator's main intention is putting out a good story not necessarily an accurate one.
If they did what you are asking, they would be trolled by their primary audience just like creators of Archies are being trolled here.
Watch Monsoon Wedding. It's actually a great movie about disturbing family secrets within a big fat Indian wedding.
This is not even stereotypical indian, this is just the basic plot of most movies based on the trope of pretend relationships. This just has an indian setting. Classic romcom plot with Indian leads so no point in getting offended. Romcoms aren't supposed to be taken too seriously anyway. Watch, eat popcorn, have fun.
Amazing ❤ thanks
Absolutely loved the movie! 'Show Me' song at the end is the cherry on the top!
Me 😯😳🤭 watching this and realizing its Monsoon Wedding Season 💍💕
Can't wait, this looks like it'll be an easy and sweet movie to watch!
Aw this looks super cute! ❤️❤️
I love this. It looks funny, and pretty generally based on the experiences of a lot of American based brown people! It’s never that deep
It's trash, everything Netflix is just overrated, they're i only successful bc their name got famous, but now most of the stuff r being removed from it and now they're struggling with the original content that most of it sucks
Indian people not brown people
This kinda movie is just so happy go lucky, makes me wanna be a part of that.😍

I bawled my eyes out watching this movie. One of the best romcoms and good acting❤
I love this movie!!!❤️❤️❤️
The script had a few glitches and seriously nothing new in terms of story but it was fun to watch and her outfits were good. Makers should've focused more on story and writing, both the actors were good. Its good for one time watch
I feel this movie director and writer is leftist and forcefully directing and writing hindu culture wedding movie,Unlink, dialogs not incomplete unsatisfied
This looks like a companion piece to *Gurinder Chadda's* kind of romcoms involving NRI parents looking for Indian grooms as perfect match for their daughters.
Full story in one trailer. Ugh - have to watch it now.
How does Suraj alwayssss manage to look this cute, handsome and hot all at the same time 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am here for it. Especially for the part where desis are not awkward about being desis in a western context.
This looks like a hundred romcoms we have already seen.
I know eh?
thankfully the most of us have not seen 100 romcoms like you so we're gonna enjoy watching this movie. good for you though.
I really hope my mom never sees this film because this is EXACTLY the type of thing my mother would do.
You know what... You got me when you showed the indian wedding the background... Gotta watch it for sure... Keep up to my expectation....
Not indian but my wife is. I just wish would Hollywood would do more to portray desi parents as welcoming and accepting of their child’s love partner the same way my wife’s parents were accepting of me. I know this is just a movie but too many in the west they may think all desi parents are this way and that’s not true at all.
Okay, you just generalised it. I'm happy you got married to the person you loved but in India ( not talking about indians settled in abroad ) arrange marriages are quite common, when I'm saying arrange marriage I don't mean FORCED MARRIAGE, You go out on dates, meet people, decide if you really want to go forward with them but here you don't have to worry about finding a date, your parents do that for you 😹 I don't think there is anything wrong in that. Love marriage or arrange marriage it all depends on you.
Ah you must be white lol
