  • In this video we install a GR/GV tubular subframe made by TSS FAB. We ran into some issues along the way which we highlight which we then presented to William @ TSSFAB and he has made some design changes so future users do not encounter these same issues.
We also measure the weight of the tubular subframe, stock sub frame and a plethora of other parts and we list all the part weights at the end.
If you have any other install questions feel free to comment them, I try to respond fairly quickly.
Also stay tuned for some On-Track videos this spring. The car keeps on getting faster and faster.
If you like this video please leave a thumbs up and consider subscribing as we have only just begun.

Thank you!!! I've been making short videos on Facebook under the name "Nasty Nate Racing" if you're interested, but I do plan to post more frequently on here. Just haven't been lately.

What are you running (or planning) to do for rear subframe? William said he's still developing an item for the GR last we spoke.

Currently running the oem rear. Not ideal, but not causing any issues.. I spoke with him about that as well and depending on his timeline and what my budget allows, there is a company called racefab in New Zealand that makes them. Just super expensive to ship 30 lbs of metal overseas so I'm hoping William gets his finished before I bite the bullet on that. If you search "subaru grb subframe racefab" it should come up on google.

@@nickquatrini Ah yes, I'm from New Zealand so very familiar with RaceFabs offerings. It's actually more economical to buy TSS gear even here, hence the query! Hanging out for Black Friday to grab the same front sub' and transmission pieces then will have to start saving some coin for the rear it seems.

Thats ironic haha but yeah, tss definitely has good prices. I think when it is finished the GR rear subframe will be more than their front by a good bit, but that is if and when they make one. Still though cant hurt to wait awhile and see what happens.

Sorry didn’t see the list soon as you said thanks for watching.. 🙄
Looking forward to your feedback on your tubular subframes soon as it’s on the road or track!

@Luis King I've had it in there for almost a year now, and I will say the difference is night and day.
The NVH increase is noticeable, especially if you do the Trans crossmember as well, but it really tightens up the front end. I did another video after finding the fix to the steering rack mount. A guy machines aluminum inserts that fill the gap and allow you to stick with the normal rack bushings no modification necessary.
