- On this episode, I take on a custom tubular sub-frame to reduce weight, add rigidity and Delete the rubber mounting points. The end result surprised me with a 45% weight reduction. Hope you enjoy this one!

Bro your work is dead on, love it
That Kid thanks man!
Nice work as always. It would be great like I said last time to have some of these for sale but understandable. Thanks for making the platform what it is. I been a follower since the day cobb put you on the cover...lol
Christopher O'Connor thank you sir. They will be available just not yet. I need to finish my car first.
Like always brutalllll 👌👌 sweet 👍👍👍👍
Thanks bro. Doing an engine swap and my old subframe is no use especially as it pertains to the mounting of the steering rack and sway bar. This gave some insight as to how I should tackle it seeing its my first subframe fab. Thanks again bro
Glad i could help some how. Good luck with your project!!!
Killin it.
Good job mate 👍
Thank you sir!
So much fucking want! Relevant to my interests!
I really enjoy watching these videos I think in time more pple will take notice of this work of art and they ll wanna do it to their cars too..not necessarily mazdas..
You should take at the end of the whole project the calculation of before and after weight savings and see where you will be, that ll be a real performance ,it would be nice to have available all doors to be swapped with carbon pieces(for the right price )and see how much additional weight can be dropped
Raquiel Cross thanks man! Yeah i’ll weight the car at the end to see what it comes in at. Hopefully sub 3000lbs. By my calculations it should be at 2800lbs. We’ll see. I have some carbon parts planned for it. Including a roof. Should be fun!
Oh that be awesome can't wait to see it👍🤝
Should've clear coated it, beautiful job
I am sure this is stronger then the factory subframe. But you should make a bar that goes across the front to tie the forward lower control arm areas together. I personally have a corksport tie brace on mine and it helped a ton with tq steer and braking. But I also still have the oem subframe. Just a though. Those areas are under a ton of load. Specially making that kind of power.
Kyle W yes sir. Im adding that and traction arms. I just need to wait until the engine is in place. Idk how much room i got. I remember the tie braces having an offset cus otherwise it’ll hit the engine.
@@WZ_TV yup they do! Keep up the good work brother. Loving the content.
Looks good , but I'd rather the extra weight to help with traction .
You make that shit look easy nice work
Thank you Jimmy
Please dont stop this series. If you ever see a red gen 1 speed3 in the westchase area thats me
Thank you sir! I'll keep it going!
Great fabwork! I love how "simple" and efficient your jig creatin process is.
What are the tube dimensions if you don't mind sharing?
Thank you. 1 3/4” DOM .125” wall
19:02 Where did you find these countersunk inserts.
Super inspiring stuff I must say
@@gabmaisonneuve3398 ruffstuff
Beautiful work...could you describe what metals you used to make this subframe
DOM tubing. 1-3/4”
Besides control arms, what's left before getting the motor in?
Camron Johnson thats it. All i have left is painting the engine bay.
Would you be interested in building one for a speed6?
Not at the moment. Need to finish my build first!
This is sick, but one thing I noticed immediately, was @6:35, when you undid that bolt, the jig shifted a few mm.
Im guessing this didnt cause any issues with the final product?
It did. I had to redo it. Made a jig with square tubing instead of angles. This time bothing moved.
@@WZ_TV ahh, sweet, thanks for the reply dude. Ive been looking at tubular subframes for my forester. But honestly, I could buy the materials and tools for less than the cost of 1 subframe. Thats how I found your channel, been researching.
Got me subbed tho
Damn, its criminal that you have so few subs right now. Keep at it tho, they will come eventually.
@@Nbomber thank you sir. Yes sometimes is cheaper and better to do it yourself. You learn alot in the process. One tip tho, when you are welding all the tubes in the jig do a little bit at the time on each joint. Dont try to weld each one of the completelly. If you only do about 1/2” of weld and move to the next, it will reduce the chances of the metal moving around.
@@Nbomber got to love youtube for that lol. Thanks for the support man!
What's up with the edge auto sport intro, are you going to partner with them?
Carlos Hernandez they are the official sponsors of my build
@@WZ_TV that's awesome bro!
Bro what is that tube bender??
Its called affordable bender.
@@WZ_TV thanks bro!
@@nonyabidness6492 no problem!
How did u make those brembos fit?
Made a bracket for them!
Where can I get that bracket lol
U think u can sale me one
?
SVNTV VISIXN i cant sell them until i do some testing first sorry
