  • My name is Evan Reinheimer. I am a full time artist and I travel the world using only a kite to lift my camera into the air (no drones needed). This is called "Kite Aerial Photography."
In this video, I go into detail about one of my favorite kites, the KAP Foil 3.0 by HQ Kites!

A few thoughts. First is to look at the thinnest piece of metal on the fishing swivel. That will be the part that breaks. Second, after filling the sand bag, place it in the hole you just dug out. If you are going to anchor off the line, wrap the line twice around the sand bag, set the bag in the hole and then use a twisted larkshead to attach to the carabiner. Experienced kiters would also carry a two foot streamer to attach to the flight line at eye level. as you know, beach goers spend a great deal of time looking at their feet and will walk into your line unless distracted. The shore patrol in their pickup truck also needs to know where your line is at, hence the streamer. Finally, it is a good introduction to the kite.

I just bought this based on your recommendation. It's a beast. Test flew it today. The difference in pull from say, 8 mph, to 12 mph is exponential. Really tugged hard on the line at times. Definite lifter kite....but 200 lb line is probably the lowest I'd go. I'm going to start lifting stuff (camera rigs) in the next week, hopefully.

I dont do ariel photography but I have enjoyed watching this video! Beautiful venue and a great kite! I own the HQ KAP 12.0 and 8.0! The quality is impeccable and the kites are reliable and steady! I use my kites for lifting line laundry! Thanks for posting good job! ❤🙂

I'm a flyer too , I go to Long Beach Washington to fly. I have a stunt kite I really like the pull it has in a 15 mph wind

Nice presentation of this kite. For me however I would use a daisy chain knot for the bridle and I would dump the metal hook on the flying line in favor of a lark's head knot to attach the kite to the line.

I had no idea the tail actually had a purpose other than aesthetics

  • @actioncamera1284

What determines how high the kite is relative to the angle of the rope? How can you get it higher?

  • @ZiggyRF

Nice kite, use a larks head knot to secure it to your line though. Get rid of the snap swivel. They can leave you or someone else bloodied up.
