Join me in my fight against the machines in Generation Zero!
Welcome to 1980’s Sweden. The local population has disappeared, and machines of unknown origin roam the streets. We'll explore this vast open world to unravel the mystery, perfect our fighting strategies, and prepare to strike back.
We’ll be taking on these robots in an action packed adventure in one of the hardest FPS games to drop in 2019.

thank you for the non stop coverage of GZ, dude!
Agreed
This was not what I was hoping for in terms of resistance fighters running around. But it is great to have someone else out there fighting robots with us if you don’t have multiplayer friends.
Game severely needs a BluFor squad.
It’s a game about robots… why would they have normal people running around? The point of the game is there is only a small resistance so explain how that would work lore wise?? Second at least they keep updating the game most devs wouldve left long ago… a lot of games end sooner then planned because of people like urself complain about every little thing instead of saying hey ty for being good devs and continuing content 🤦♀️
@@exposenetworklimited4497 because it feels like we’re the only ones fighting the robots which goes against the previous dlcs of a resistance forming. We’re not meant to be a one man army. Idk why that’s hard to understand.
The only (yet huge) downside of this whole update, DLC and otherwise, is the ridiculous amount of crashes when playing co-op.
The update itself is awesome.
yes - the crashes are so annoying! Couldn't play with my brother 'cause every time he joined he would crash not long after. Hopefully it gets fixed!
I think they should add a armor set for the runner that has the same armor stats as the normal runner armor but adds more inventory space, something along the lines of a pack mule. Also if you use this mod it would remove its gun but it would do more damage with its melee attack based on how full its inventory is
The Astrid voice box is actually like an old Swedish lady. It keeps saying things like "nice weather we're having" and such. Very Swedish pensioner stuff 🙂
I love my new doggy.. Senior Steel Dog! She is... (yes, senior, and the Astrid voice box in Swedish is AWESOME!!) ...such a good bo.....robo doggy! 😂😃💪😎👍
😂🎉❤
Thanks for the coverage man, you doing a good job.. good boy, good boy.. ❤
I think the “tin foil” on the fire retardant armor is supposed a fire blanket from the looks of it
they’ve been around since 1911(the year the earliest known patent existed in) the one in game looks like a fiberglass version from the textures and those ones became widespread during the 1960s so it’s most likely a fiberglass version of a fire blanket which would have been very common in 1989 especially in a place that is fearing and preparing for a potential soviet invasion so they would have been issued to civilians to help put out any fires
In universe I think a group of resistance fighters found some and decided that since you can actually walk through a burning room with them they would make decent fire proofing for their new robot doggos and attached pieces of it to armor plating
Thank you for the little history lesson😅
I'm the dev that made the armors for the companion and yes, that was exactly what I was going for. Thanks for noticing! :)
Tenebris I do enjoy this but there is a learning curve with the doggo. It is fun and functional and no crashes so far. I do agree the price is a bit high for essentially a cosmetic dlc but it does help the doggo and game play over all. Thanks for the video.
I believefor its value. It should be 5 dollars. No more than that.
These "features" are honestly just QOL changes. Its not something you ABSOLUTELY need.
The dog is very strong. Can definitely take hits and do its job. (Though AI can be a bit inconsistent when fighting a swarm)
The different armor types does make it more tankier. But the dog is already pretty beefy to begin with so again, its not something ABSOLUTELY necessary to make it viable, because it is very clearly viable even without the DLC
The traps do actually kill ur doggo if ur doggo walks on the wall trap
I love the look of the slat cage armor (concussive armor)
I felt that the cost of this DLC Is on the steeper side but on second thought, the amount of content we are getting are both skin and QOL items. It is like we are getting weapon skin + new weapon in a single pack. Hopefully in the future, we might be getting free skins just like the weapon skin pack.
So Tene…How many points does a doggo get after getting the killshot on a Reaper? I wonder if getting it close and deploying the companion near the end of the battle would save it from the thermobaric…
We tested it out on stream and i think we got like 100 points my dude, it was a well fought battle! :D
@@TenebrisInfinite the one time I miss the stream…
The goto YT guy for all things Generation Zero content!
Finally a doggo we love!!
The companion is great using the wolf weapons mod from Nexus.. turns his machine gun into a higher power weapon that goes BBRRRTZ! 😂
I loved your intro
Schwatz going on everyone
Still waiting on my doggo to be released from the storage prison.
It's a shame you can't build a runner's companion assembly station at your base. I hope they will update this. How do you repair your dog in the field? The repair option is grayed out, even if I have my repair kit on me.
I can only repair it when it's totally wrecked. Guess they designed it that way.
I'm usually using the scavenger module because I like to loot everything in order to grind and if I don't have enough space in my inventory then my companion can store the loot in it's inventory so the next time I bank everything in the recycling station or in the storage box... Also where did the companion station for base building? I'm sure they need to add that at some point right?
How do I customize my runner with the lights, paint jobs and voice modules? I’m trying to find out how but I’m not getting any kind of answer.
I’m curious if the perk that increases health restored from Med Packs stacks with Doggo Medic module?
Is it 1 doggo per player or 1 per lobby? So if I was with 3 other people could I have 4
I think it's most likely one per player, probably the best time to break out Doggo rocket launchers
Each module should have a upgrade spotter gets a % damage increase with the additionof +1 enemie spotted per tier: tier 1 base, tier 2 +1 to spotted Enemies with a 1.25 increase, tier 3 +2 enemies with 2.50 increase, tier 4 +3 spotted enemies with a 3.75 increase, medic should get a % of not consuming a med pack with each tier: teir 1 base states, teir 2 25%, tier 3 50%, tier 4 75%, scavenger should get a % chance to find 5* attachments or weapons based on the appropriate units they drop from: tier 1 base, tier 2 1.25%, tier 3 2.50%, tier 4 3.75%
Does the speak & spell voice change from english to swedish going by the dialogue setting?
Nice
For solo this dlc is very good
Reminds me of Transformers Gen1 Ravage in the purple
This is amazing and was really needed in the game. I hope it will be expanded in the future because of the many possibilities.
Yeah, it would be really fun having a bigger variety of guns and armors, maybe grenade launchers and such.. I love this game
I can't be the only one waiting for devs or modders to make all the machines available companions.
devs hate modders
Me and my brother constantly get the building blocks glitch
I feel that this update is a money grab, taking advantage of the excitement over the companion. So much of the content is locked behind the DLC, and without it, you get basically a glorified mascot. I wish that the armour and at least some of the modules were included in the base game.
Well let's think before we speak shall we. The dog is definitely still very much helpful without the DLC. Besides, he isn't suppose to just be blatantly overpowered and murder everything (though he is actually very strong. Depending on what your fighting). He can take some serious hits. So it's not like he dies easily by simple machines. I mean against a tank. He can definitely take a Fnix one down with the shot gun or rocket.
Honestly the price should be 5 dollars. Not the 8 dollar (with tax) price tag it has. It's a tad bit expensive. The modules is more of a QOL change. Not something that is a blatant upgrade and something absolutely necessary to make the dog do work.
@@oscarfunez3806 It's mostly the price tag that's got me balking at it right now. Though, I'm also a incredibly cynical person, with a unhealthy dose of depression, skepticism, and doubt of everything's quality and intention, among other things.
I do agree that there's a lot of content for this game stuck behind a paywall this dlc is kinda meh but it still stinks that gz has gone from a game made for fun to a game that wants your money. I honestly think that they should have stuck with dlc that only applies more quests and more skins because those are extra things to make you look like you supported the team but putting new weapons and equipment behind a paywall kinda steals from the whole game. After playing the game for a while once you get all the exp weapons that's it! There's nothing else to do except running around and aimlessly shooting at robots. There's no variety of weapons or equipment to grind for and if you want to get more loot you have to pay for it. Like what is this Payday 2 dlc they coming out with. We want more quest or Island type dlc like fallout did not more paid weapons. There is so little content with the main game and so much of it is behind their paywall. Every update so far has been one new gameplay element and a dlc that may contain far more gameplay than the update also some bugs too. I think we need more variety to the main game because too much of it is locked behind paywall.
I have noticed the companion can be stored in the item box. I wonder if i can get another and have 2 active
I am extremely excited that they have an auto loot function mostly because at least on Console when I kill a group of robots about half of the robots seem to disappear on me
Expect you have to pay for it! Which is fun…
@@ieajackson5518don't be poor then
@@EsuZeno what an eloquent response, thanks so much for this insightful response.
But in all seriousness, I could afford this, but I think there is a lot of thing in these dlcs that should be in the base game.
Come up with an actual response please.
@ieajackson5518 These are really QOL changes but not major. Maybe useful early game, but for veterans. It isn't a deal breaker having to loot enemies. Besides, by this point you have a lot of resources. Medic is a nice addition but again. It's a survival game. Restoring health was never a complaint. So not a deal breaker either. Marking as well. Just isn't something you need if you play skirmish or adventure.
The armor plating isn't needed except for just the tad bit more armor resistance. The dog itself is rather strong without the DLC.
Do I think it's a little too expensive. I can agree. 5 dollars would be fair than paying almost 8 dollars for a small DLC that although it Is indeed a nice addition and not one which is absolutely necessary to make the dog viable, but for the value. Paying almost 8 dollars is too much. Again. 5 would have been much more fair.
@@oscarfunez3806 hopefully it was like $6.20 with Game Pass so closer to 5 then 7 definitely not 8 and while I mostly agree with what you said here the biggest problem I have expecially on console is when they fight a group of enemies half of them disappear into the foliage making it a huge chore just to find the bodies the other loot isn't the ideal solution for this but it is highly welcome personally I would have preferred when you kill a robot it has a glowing outline around it until you open the inventory or do it the way Fallout 76 handles it now yes they have a lot of issues but they have the Looting down pretty good on that aspect the bodies glow and all the loot can be accessed from one body it's a huge quality-of-life improvements
i wonder how it will do in a fight with the reaper :)
How much damage can the standard dog take and what happens - does it need repair and what need to use reapir - more details please on standard NON dlc dog.
dont know if its wise but i always pick up everything and recycle all the junk to make better junk
also how does your gun do so much damage
Is it just me or wouldnt there be nice with an disengage button
The same button could also attack the current target. It feels like it acts very random when it selects what to do in the fights.
i hope they add upgrades for the new companion update
I know this was 6 months ago but, How the hell do I change modules ? I'm on PC.
Thanks man. Overall, i am really happy with this Update. I love Dr. Eisen von Wuff. (Dr. Iron of Bark :D)
EDIT: Also it really seems like the paid dlc is really mostly cosmetics. The behavior Modules are underwhelming and i like that. The Spotting feels more like a small Bonus. When i saw it here in the Video and thought about my normal Gameplay, it wasn't bringing anything to the Table.
The Price is too high, yes. But i enjoy it. Again, absolutely optional. I think its fair. if someone really wants it, pay it. "Base" Doggo is quite fine.
When DLC is optional, you know it's good DLC, cause it means the creators care about their game, and not robbing their player base
the companion dog will continue 2 pick stuff up INFINITE,,, I tested this out also,,, the dog just continues 2 pick stuff up forever in the same area ??? !
Bro you didn't test the alert sounds
Just curious, is the companion dlc purchasable on ps4 yet?
yes
What DLC is that gun from the AT-WAD that gun is OPI need to get me one LOL
The Soviet Weapons Pack.
Is it on ps4 ? Dlc
90%of this content is DLC sold back to us
I wish this companion could infect other robots and turn them friendly imagine a apocalypse class tank as a companion
Can the dogo run with you wile I n a bike or motorcycle?
It may be able to keep up with the cycle but it teleports with motorcycles
Hi
Nice dlc but way to expensive
It can spot for you
Heal you
Or pick up shit while you are busy
For 6.99
That's a steal in my book lol
Have they fixed the broken Crafting costs that they completely destroyed over 8 months ago yet? They'll never ever get another dollar out of me until that is fixed.
Its bugged like crazy tho. The devs needs to do a major bug fix like with electrical rounds and them flinging enemies and crashing the game. The game crashes sooo much. I cant even do a base defense mission.
That Scavenger Module is complete BS. If im actively looting an enemy and the dog comes and tries to loot it, the game automatically quit to desktop. Also if im looting and the dog comes running it yeets any large enemies halfway across the map. I was super pissed when it did it to a Soviet Rival when I was grinding for the 5* weapons
Just got it today on ps5 sep 13th 2023...gor £5 ish UK . Bit of fun ,but not overly useful. Love the review. 😊
first
I just can't, this little buddy is so adorable :'D
I played with him for 30 minutes, and if anything happens to him, I'm not responsible for my actions
Thanks for the review, I was wondering how it all looks and sounds in game🤍 Really want to buy this dlc, but I haven't figured out how... Hope I'll find a way soon
